I have a good understanding of the freedom movement and how it moved our culture, civilization, future and the present via my personal readings but my knowledge of post independence India and its politics is not much. If you compare the bitterness between the current government and oppositions is not similar as it was during Mr Bajpeyee's time then you should not forget that PM Modiji always put the country first and wellbeing of his country's people unlike anyone else. He never keep journalist around to pamper him and give information about the places where he can indulge himself and that's why people trust him more than any other politician as he didn't even bother to take any holiday since he took the post.

If you compare the bitterness between the current government and oppositions is not similar as it was during Mr Bajpeyee's time then you should not forget that PM Modiji always put the country first and wellbeing of his country's people unlike anyone else. He never keep journalist around to pamper him and give information about the places where he can indulge himself and that's why people trust him more than any other politician as he didn't even bother to take any holiday since he took the post.

Indira Gandhi was keen to be UK High Commissioner during Shastri 's tenure. Shastri ji never wanted Indira Gandhi in his cabinet and she knew about it. Had Shastri returned from Tashkent, she would have been expelled from the Cabinet. Thats why she wanted to shift to UK with her children. For this she was sending her feelers who were close to Nehru.
Indira and the Gandhis should've moved to the UK, if they had India would have moved forward instead of backward, instead these Gandhi-Nehru parasites DESTROYED India. If PM Modi had not taken over the reigns in 2014, India would've just gone to hell in a hand basket as it was circling the drain as they say.
In my humble opinion, victory in 1965 had strengthend Shastri as a PM. And that left no chance for Indira and her subsequent off Springs.

Interesting interview. My only complaint is that perhaps the interviewer could have allowed Neerja Chowdhury to speak more. Some of his interruptions disrupted the natural flow of Neerja. The dharma of the interviewer should always be to ask questions without giving too many personal opinions.
