Having just received a bottle of Shiseido Zen today at first I didn't think I liked it due to the pine and cedar standing out with the first spray. However after a while the citrus and fresh notes became more noticeable and I think it's a lovely scent for me. It's nearly Winter here and Zen is an uplifting fragrance that I'm beginning to enjoy.
Did you know the International Flavors Fragrence (IFF) inc commercialized the space rose note, which is now a fragrance ingredient in a perfume developed by Shiseido Cosmetics. The "space rose" fragrance is used in their Zen perfume. It's the first fragrance from space to be commercialized.
"A sweaty handful of pennies." I can TOTALLY smell that! You're awesome! I used to wear the original Zen in the 80s. I wonder how they compare. I remember liking it, but not necessarily loving it. Loved hanging with you! Xo

I too purchased this because of Demi because she loves Alien, Sofia and Lancôme Tresor La Nuit. This is my third day and it’s growing on me. I think I like it though 😊
I enjoy every one of your posts, Veronica, and I too purchased a bottle of Zen because of Demi Rawling. I would probably enjoy it I was younger, and worked out and ran on the Australian beach, but I prefer a different type scent for my exercise- long walks, gardening, running errands, housework. You influenced me to order Still, and that was a little brighter/sparkle-y than I prefer, however my 19 year old daughter claimed it for herself! I’m sure you will be responsible for other blind buys! Fragrances have added so much fun to my life, and though my husband rarely comments on my smelling different every day ( or twice daily), he would complain if my perfume hobby bothered him. Love your personality.

I don’t hate Demi or Jeremy for their recommendations, I’ve gotten some great ones and some not so great ones. That’s the name of the game! Part of the fun for me is trying new ones. I pass them on to my daughter or resell if I don’t like them. But like you, I stick to the more affordable options if I’m going to blind buy.

Exactly Veronica, people who present in You Tube eventually become good at what they do because they do it all the time: test, purchase and become acquainted with parfum world. I have learned from everyone and of course, we all vibe with a different person and personality :) I have made purchases which ended up being gifted to family but it is part of our journey as fragrance Livers and Lovers. So funny the things that happen to us with fragrances. I'm not a fan of citrus in fragrances AT ALL. Like, I can't. But when I sprayed Zen, I was in love. I think it's the woody base that does it for me (that I perceive here as warm unlike you 🙂), I adoooore a good woody base, and somehow the citrus notes allow it by their transparency to shine more than if there were sweeter, more floral notes masking it. I don't know if I made myself clear 😁. Love your reviews!

Hola Verónica, I am waiting for you to review Gritti's Duchessa. How does one wear parfum when one has such a large collection? I only have 60 maybe and I adore all my babies but it can be overwhelming to know how to really wear all of them. I am using 3 or 4 daily often as blends just to wear and enjoy all that I have. Hi Alma! You can't wear them all! It's impossible. But I sniff them all and do like you - wear several a day. I also try not to worry about using them up but rather rotating them to show them all love. 😁😁😁

I find that the smell is fresh and discreet but the perfume is quite "classic". For me it's a very pleasant scent with a floral scent that can be worn all year round and on all occasions. It leaves a great smell on my skin and on my clothes. It is almost unisex but not quite woody enough to push into masculine territory.

I know what you mean about Demi Rawling making you believe you NEED specific perfumes! I've had a bottle in my cart forever but something else always comes along
I love this fragrance. The fact that Demi loves this too, indicates that she does know what she is talking about. I would describe it as juicy and mouthwatering like a pineapple and grapefruit mixed together. The initial spray may be strong for some but the dry down just wafts off your skin in the heat while retaining its thirst quenching sweet yet musky tartness. I used up my 30ml very quickly and now I'm onto a 100ml bottle with a 100ml back up. I love this. It is the best citrus ever!
