- Unimpressed by the claim of ABS-CBN chairman emeritus Eugenio “Gabby” Lopez III that he is a Filipino citizen, a senior administration congressman asked the network giant’s executive to recite the first line of the Philippine Patriotic Oath ‘Panatang Makabayan’.
Lopez, who had to undergo another intense grilling before the House of Representatives today, did recite the oath’s initial line but failed to convince Deputy Speaker and SAGIP Partylist Rep. Rodante Marcoleta that he knew it by heart.

The frequency is owned by the government. This government has the sole authority to grant you the use or take it away from you should you violate the law of the land. In your absence in the air, people can receive info via some local tv and radio be works. Huwag nyo kami bolahin na di na sila ma inform. Dami sources. Di lang kayo oy! In fact we are kept informed in your absence. We don't need you it's you who needs us, the government.
Please, move on! ABS-CBN still on airing. See? You can’t break ABS-CBN due to its authenticity in terms of broadcasting. If you really insisting that ABS-CBN did wrong why does this network stand still?
Well, mas maraming frequencies na available sa Digital TV compared sa analog. There are still more space for ABS-CBN return. Most people now are tuning in into their gadgets like mobile phones, tablets and computers to watch content. There are mobile apps, OTT livestreaming, social media, digital media, etc., which are the new trend of watching TV. And ABS-CBN is literally everywhere!
Mind you that all analog channels on free TV will be shut off soon. So even if Channel 2 frequency was given to its new owner, it will only last for a short period of time. There are lots of frequencies available in digital TV. There are still more space for ABS-CBN return.
You should know these! ‘Wag maging bobo!

They are almost dominating eveything now-from free TV channels to cable, digital film industry, virtual concerts, online platforms, video-on-demand and streaming sites. Di lang ang TV ang may Franchise, dapat may franchise din ang online streaming gaya ng kapamilya channel, teleradyo na nakikita natin sa iwant, facebook, youtube atbp. Upang hindi ito maabuso ang kanilang network at ang bayan. Sana maiparating ito sa kongreso maipatupad ito para maging batas ukol dito.

@@louiereyasher Kuya, hindi ako bobo and i don't need your opinion. Kasalanan ni Lopez yan kung bakit hindi nag renew ng Franchise sa Congress before expire. Dapat ang ABS-CBN, aware na sila mag renew ng Franchise noon pa. Up to 25 years franchise validity.

@@danielgfliptop7910 Well, ABS-CBN has already adapted well to the digital content creation and production landscape. Their blocktime agreements with TV5 and A2Z seemingly suffice for free TV.
As far as streaming services, iWantTFC has also expanded, and they have even partnered with WeTV iFlix, IQiyi, Viu and Netflix. I do not think that they have any desire in the near future to apply for a new franchise.
Perhaps they’ve already settled with the reality that their direction now is towards content creation.
