Welcome to the best band in metal today. Great reaction. I love it when other musicians confirm what I, a non musician, know in my heart, and that is that Lovebites have exceptional talent. You don’t have to play an instrument to gauge how good they are, but hearing someone who does explaining just HOW good is always rewarding. Why? Because I love this band, they are just so different, so melodic, so damn good!! You will get lots of suggestions from the Wolf Pack but for me I always think a musician like yourself will appreciate the live performances so much more. Therefore anything from this concert venue, Zepp Diver City Tokyo, either 2019 or 2020 will blow you away.
Every Lovebites song is amazing. Any song from this same show is great to react too. You never know what you’ll get with these ladies. They are more than just power metal for sure.
Welcome to Lovebites world. Please continue to react the band. Will be a amazing and wonderful journey. And yes Iron Maiden, Angra and Hellween are some influences. Saludos desde Chile...
Enjoyed the reaction! Miyako (dark hair) is playing a Dean Icon. She favors Dean, but she's not exclusive to the brand. She's also been known to use a Gibson Les Paul and some custom built boutique guitars. Midori (blonde ponytail) is pretty much exclusive to ESP. In this video she's using an ESP E-II Horizon in "Reindeer Blue". A few months ago, I came across that exact same model 2nd hand for a good price. I had to snag it! But I can't play it quite as well she can. LOL
Actually, Miyako's custom guitars are not boutique at all but made by herself with the help of her guitar-tech (a Telecaster and a ES-335-like). She made a video explaining it on her channel. And she has a Dean signature model flying V now.
It's a wonderful guitar. I've used Ibanez for almost 40 years, but the E-II has become my #1 "shredder". I'm with you, Doc Loco. When I think boutique, I think hand built one off. I'm not sure how much involvement Miyako has with the building part. I do remember she did say once she leaves the soldering to her guitar tech. Of course, that may have changed since. Midori has also built her own through Guitar Craft Academy, run jointly by ESP and GIT.
Finally you check out Lovebites. Welcome to the world of Lovebites. The best one metal band right now in the earth. All the musicians on this band is insane and world class talent. Not a gimmick or fake. They effortless. What a great reaction and great analysis. You know if this song have influence Angra and 80's metal. Midori, one of two lead guitarist on this band is big fans of Angra. Hope you take a journey reaction to Lovebites. Because all song from them is amazing. Next song from them, try they new music video. The song is "Winds of Transylvania" Enjoy it, and thank you for a great reaction to Lovebites.
Thank you so mutch for the comment!!! I really felt a little bit of the album "Angels Cry" on this song and it was amazing!! I will definetly take a look!! Thanks for the suggestion!! Stay safe!
The Blonde gutarist (Midori) uses ESP guitars, the dark haired guitarist (Miyako) uses DEAN guitars. Yes they are Power, Thrash, Traditional and Speed Metal all rolled into one, the y go back and forth between those genres taking all the best parts and have created a Metal Miracle. Such power, such majesty, a real metal head cannot help but tear up more than once watching them or listening to their albums. The music and lyrics hit so deep into a metal heart and soul. We, The Wolf Pack, are UINTIED under their command, and every song is a righteous WARCRY to our HOWLING WARRIOR BLOOD!
Thank you for this comment!! I loved the ESP guitar!! Do you know the specific model?? Anyway, they shurelly do a awesome work!! Do you have any other suggestion of song??? Keep waiting for more videos like this one!!! Stay safe my friend!!
@@LuisBorges Videos like When Destines Align, Shadowmaker, The Crusade, Rising, Don't Bite the Dust...and lots of videos from this concert like Thunder Vengeance, Edge Of The World. Also songs like Raise Some Hell, and Break The Wall. There is a huge number of videos and they do not have a bad song. They are the New Metal Godz
Miyako, the brunette guitarist, plays a Dean Icon USA throughout most of this show. She does switch to a Gibson Les Paul for a few songs. In some videos and for some concerts, she plays a Dean ML Switchblade. Moreover, she now has a signature Dean V that has Fluence pickups. Midori plays an ESP E-II Horizon FR throughout this entire show except for one song when she plays an acoustic. In a recent video called "Winds of Transylvania" she plays an ESP Arrow. I know Miho, the bass guitarist, plays ESP bass guitars, but I'm not sure of the model. I have a feeling her stuff is custom made at ESP's guitar shop.
Miho (bass) and Haruna (drums) formed the band after Destrose went dormant. They recruited Midori (blue guitar) and Miyako (guitar) with Miyako slated to play keyboards. Asami (vocals) came from R&B, Soul. Miyako is the primary composer and Asami is the primary lyricist. Did you catch that the lyrics were in English. Just before the covid shut down they were touring with Dragon Force in the UK. Miyako has her own RUclips channel and in 2 recent shows she showed us her in home studio and the 2 guitars she built. Sense your getting into Japanese bands, you need to react to Nemophila "Dissension". There are 100+ all female Rock&Metal bands in Japan, you need to pick up the pace.
Your rendition of the guitar solos made me LOL! To listen to more of them just pick anything from their live DVD "Five of a Kind" it is a masterpiece. Also the new MV "Winds of Transilvania" should be right up your alley.
Midori uses a ESP E-II Horizon FR QM Reindeer Blue with Gold Hardware in this Song ....Miyako uses a Dean USA Icon Flame Maple Faded Denim (with Special Condensers for grunt) and Miho uses an ESP AMAZE-AS/M Lake Placid Blue Bass
LOVEBITES - Holy War lyrics: Look at those black clouds, it’s going to rain blood People live in fear, covered in mud Singing oh Gloria to change the prophecy We are the metal warriors Fighting the darkness for sisters There is a thousand, a thousand of evils Hush, do not wake up Satan’s devils Singing Hallelujah to save our majesty We are the metal warriors Fighting the darkness for brothers Shining blade and burning heart Into the Gates of Hell we march Immortal soul, let there be light Into the Eye of Heaven Eagles at a holy war Fly higher than the sun We are one for all and all for one forevermore Kingdom of Heaven, never shall we fall Reincarnation, wait for your call Singing oh, Gloria to change the prophecy We are the metal warriors Fighting the darkness for sisters Morning star and dying moon Into the Gates of Hell we march Mighty soul, let there be hope Into the Eye of Heaven Eagles at a holy war Fly higher than the sun Stand up in the name of the God of heavy metal What do we live for? What do we fight for, tonight? But the world is beautiful, worth fighting for Only have one thing on our mind Facing the fate, holy war Singing Hallelujah to save our majesty We are the metal warriors Fighting the darkness for brothers Shining blade and burning heart Into the Gates of Hell we march Immortal soul, let there be light Into the Eye of Heaven Eagles at a holy war Fly higher than the sun We are one for all and for one forevermore What do we live for? What do we fight for, tonight? But the world is beautiful, worth fighting for Only have one thing on our mind Facing the fate, holy war ----- lyrics: LOVEBITES music: Mao arrangement: LOVEBITES (miho, haruna, midori, miyako, asami)
Other reviewers have described them as alien superheroes disguised as young women, angels sent to save us, princesses of metal, and angry bridesmaids. They have themselves said in interviews that part of their mission is to save heavy metal from darkness and obscurity. They were formed from the remnants of a legendary all-girl Japanese metal band called Destrose (yes, all-girl metal has been a thing in Japan since at least 1981). Miho (bass, chief metalhead and soul of the band) recruited her former bandmate Haruna (drums, 4'9" pocket nuke), and they went and found the two guitarists, Midori and Miyako, who were with other bands, and the whole group found Asami, the singer, who was doing soul and blues at the time. Miho and Miyako compose most of their music, but Midori has also been getting into the act, and Asami writes a lot of the lyrics. They have only been around for a little over 4 years. They studied all the great historical metal bands going back to Purple and Sabbath, through Maiden, Priest, Metallica, Slayer etc. and they pretty much aced it all. They toured with Dragonforce in 2019, and word from those in attendance is that next time around, it will be the ladies headlining. They have incorporated some of the best of each of those bands into their arsenal, and it seems clear they’re taking it to another level. This is one of their "starter" songs for reactors, and rightly so--you get a good sense of the band. They do everything from soulful power ballads to white-hot insane thrash, and almost every song includes face-melting solos by Miyako and Midori. The two shredders are very different in style and tone. Midori (blonde ponytail) is the extrovert and speed demon; Miyako is the introvert, with the more soulful feel. Midori uses a cleaner tone, Miyako uses more distortion, pinch harmonics and pedal effects. The interplay makes their duets rich and dynamic. It doesn’t hurt that either one can smoke most of the shredders in the classic metal bands. (As another reactor said, "It seems criminal these two are allowed to be in the same band.") Miyako is also a concert-level classical pianist-she only picked up guitar when she was 18. You'll get lots of suggestions, just one thing: don't bother with Bloodstock footage, the quality is poor. Best to take suggestions with actual links. Welcome to the Wolf-Pack!
What's truly amazing about them is how precise they are, sweep picking is so hard to play precisely at this speed. They also break into other genres as well, Break the wall has some super nasty ass down picking like Old School Slayer or Metallica and Hetfield's Blackened Iconic opener. They are Nasty you would be hard-pressed to find two guitarists playing as well as Miyako and Midori right now.
this one is power metal side, they have some thrash metal songs such as: Thunder Vengeance, Break The Wall, The Hammer Of Wrath *from live Zepp Tokyo Btw their albums was mixed by Mikko Karmila and mastered by Mika Jussila, who have worked with acts like Nightwish, Children of Bodom, and Stratovarius, at Finnvox Studios in Helsinki, Finland. Lovebites Won Metal Hammer 2018(Best New Band) and they have played in metal festival such as Wacken, Bloodstock, Graspop and Download. great reaction video man..
Hello Luis , Lovebites is my fav , power thrash metal band right now , amazing guitars solos and dual riff , other level of musicians , greetings from Chile , God bless 🇧🇷 .
Thanks for this excellent reaction/review of LOVEBITES. I really appreciate some points you noticed that many do not, particularly that they are 'not trying to be cute' but instead are highly skilled Women writing and performing very difficult compositions with a multitude of techniques, flawlessly and comfortably. "We are sophisticated women" ~ Midori (blond guitarist with purple ESP) If you continue this journey you will discover their unity (When Destinies Align & We The United). Their honesty (M.D.O. & The Hammer of Wrath). Their encouragement (Rising & Edge of the World). Their résilience (The Apocalypse & Under The Red Sky) Their power and uplifting message (all 50 original songs). "Mom" says no 'subbing' on first 'reaction' so I have to wait for your next LOVEBITES experience!
Excellent review. Very well done. The wolf pack has already given you answers to your questions on the guitars down below, so just some addition here. The Dean USA Icon is pretty much modified, the pickups have been replaced from Dean original to Fishmans and changed to active. The condensers have been replaced too, and modified some wiring. The other guitar and the bass guitar are ESP standard. You'll receive many recommendations to react on Lovebites. Take any of them. They are all good. It's a kind of troublesome that every piece of theirs is masterpiece, but one thing I tell you, in the case you play Swan Song, you've got play with the preceding truck which is Shopin Revolutionary Etude. Those 2 pieces are one set, hence a suite. One more advice as a non-native English speaker myself, try to speak a little slower, go easy. Now your odyssey of the wonder world of Lovebites just have begun. It'll be a long and great journey. Enjoy! Stay with the wolf pack and don't get lost. May the wolves be with you.
Excellent comment. I would add that it is Miyako herself that did the modifications to her Dean USA Icon and she has her own channel describing such things, and her signature Dean "V" along with other guitars she chose the components (but got help assembling), her new home studio and her "Zoo" (collection of animals). All this and a classically trained pianist who writes much of LOVEBITES' music too!
Thank you so mutch!! I'll take your advice!! I'm also not a native speaker so I know exactally what you're talking about. Your comment was verry helpfull!! Stay safe my friend!
Great reaction. Midori and Miyako are probably the best PAIR of female shredders playing in the world today. If you think the guitar work in this song was great, wait until you see the rest of what they can do. Check out these songs next: "When Destinies Align, Scream for Me, or Winds of Transylvania."
Ill go one further I think they are better than 99% of the guitarists out there right now men or women. Its truly hard to quantify just how talented this band actually is. Watchig the Dragon Force Farming simulator and watch Midori and Miyako Shredding impromptu with Herman Li made me realize just how luck I was to get to see this level of talent in my lifetime.
Great "first" reaction to this Amazing (Power Thrash Heavy) Metalband Lovebites ! I really enjoy It 👍Perhaps you'll check out " Hammer of Wrath"live 2020in Tokio!🔥Thank's and stay save 🤘😎🤘

Midori (the blond guitarist) is playing a 6-string ESP-II, while Miyako (the ice princess) is playing a model from Dean, with Fishman pickups. Miyako has her own signature model Dean now in addition to this one. She’s a concert pianist who picked up guitar at 18, and is blues and fusion influenced, while Midori is heavily Malmsteen influenced. Miho (bassist) is the band’s founder, who is heavily influenced by the bassist of Iron Maiden. That’s why you get that power metal vibe; they are in the mold of Judas Priest, Maiden, Helloween (Haruna, the drummers favorite band), as well as thrash. Also, every song they’ve done except one is in English. Your next reaction to them should be the song they played before Holy Wars, which was the opener of this show, Thunder Vengeance. These ladies go heavier than the guys, and even better than them, as they do it in heels.
One minor point: Dual electric guitars with harmonies goes back to the Allman Brothers and Derek and the Dominoes around 1970; later bands that really made it a centerpiece were Boston and Wishbone Ash, as well as southern rock groups like Lynard Skynard. Early Fleetwood Mac actually had three harmonizing guitars, though one of them was often acoustic. Iron Maiden and Judas Priest were influenced by these bands.
Have you heard of Unlucky Morpheus? Symphonic metal with elements of power metal, progressive and death metal, with classical-sounding harmonies. Try "Angreifer" or "Unending Sorceress"
Hello Luis , Wow that was a great reaction!!!!! Just subscribed . Going to check out all your reactions . I live in Seattle Washington moved here when i was 7. I was born in Sao Paulo. My name is Simon.
Finalmente LOVEBITES cara. Amor a primeira vista e audição. A harmonia, performance, simpatia, letras de canções positivas e estimulantes, delas é surpreendente (Midori e Miyako tocando guitarras juntas é algo simplesmente fenomenal). Os deuses do Metal estão com elas. "Up the Lovebites". ❤🤘🤘

Finalizando, se quiseres ver 2 videos oficiais da banda, feitos agora recentemente, com música, história, visual e tudo alucinante, recomendo: LOVEBITES / Winds Of Transylvania [VLADLOVE Version] MUSIC VIDEO, e LOVEBITES / Glory To The World [MUSIC VIDEO] (este, então, em tempos de pandemia, com seu visual e letra da música, nos dão uma mensagem reconfortante). Falei demais, desculpe. 🎸🎸🤘🤘

Miho ( the bassist and the boss ) is a Iron Maiden fans... And Haruna ( the drummer ) is a Helloween fans... Next... I recommended Thunder Vengeance... you will see how they open their show... You have been bitten my friend and welcome to the wolf pack!!...
Great reaction. I realy love Brasilian bands, but I'm now in Japanese rabbit hole. Lovebites is just great band, they have some pure power metal songs, some pure trash metal songs, and some great power ballads. Miyako (dark hair guitarist) is actually classicaly traind pianist, and in few songs she plays piano. Songs I would recommend are: Glory to the world (their newest MV, power metal), Thunder vengeance (live, trash metal), Empty daydream (live, power ballad), We the united (show closer, just miles of shreding and harmonising), Scream for me(live, almost two minutes guitar battle at the and of the song)... Also, I would recommend you two more japanese female metal bands, and I'm sure that you would like them. Nemophila (modern metal), songs: Dessension (MV), Oiran (studio live) Mary's blood (power/heavy metal), songs: Marionette (MV), Coronation day (live). Enjoy!
Finalmente! Outra banda japonesa? Nomophila, essa é muito boa!
Nice reaction...I think you have been BITTEN by the WOLFPACK...If you want to see more, try SWAN SONG, WE THE UNITED, WHEN DESTINIES ALIGN, RAISE SOME HELL, RISING all LIVE at ZEPP City Tokyo...
Ok, I state that I am not Brazilian (I am Italian) but I have known Angra for years (since the time of Angels Cry) and I must admit that I have been waiting for months that finally someone did not combine Lovebites with Dragonforce (as if Dragonforce had invented this genre that as far as I'm concerned, it makes more sense to say that if anything it was 'invented' by the Helloween ... or maybe by the Ranibows even earlier). Lovebites were inspired (told by them) above all by Angra, Helloween, Iron Maiden, Judas Priest, Metallica and Rainbow. Now just compare them to the Dragonforce who are very good but just the latest additions to this small army of bands. Nice video my friend, you are very prepared that of course ... now get ready to listen to an avalanche of exceptional songs from these girls. The Wolf Pack is coming.
Sugiro que faças react as musicas Live - We the United, Break the Wall, Edge of the world, Thunder Vengeance, Raise Some Hell, The Awakening/The Hammer of Wrath. E também sugiro que faças react aos music videos de "Glory to the World" e "Winds of Transylvania".
they don't taken inspiration or got influenced by any Brasilian bands. they're highly inspired by US/European 80's & 90’s metal bands. it possibly that Brasilian band that you mentioned have mutual inspiration of those bands that LOVEBITES had mentioned
Angra can be confused with some European metal bands as their albums were recorded in Norway. Some of the comments are saying that Midori is a fan of them so I think it's really true. Anyway, thank you for the comment!! Hope to see you more arround here!!
They often state the european Metal of the 70s and 80s and particularly the NWOBHM as heavy influences, but their personal roots are much more eclectic. Both guitarists, Midori and Miyako were in Metalcore bands before, Miyako also plays classical piano for most of her life, the rhythm section Miho and Haruna were in a band that played japanese Power Metal and Asami is also an R'n'B singer. That's what makes their musical style so special, since you can often hear a little different and in my ears fresh approach to the classic ideas.
Luis reaja a lovebites chopin entude / swansong .

@@LuisBorges and miyako is one of the 14 artists that is signed by Dean. you can find her on Dean guitar home page.
Thanks for letting me know!!! Stay safe!!!
Hahahaha Thank you!! I definetly will check it out!!
this thing with "best thing ever bla blubb" will just never end with lovebites, they just get you all the time ;)
Midori uses a ESP E-II Horizon FR QM Reindeer Blue with Gold Hardware in this Song ....Miyako uses a Dean USA Icon Flame Maple Faded Denim (with Special Condensers for grunt) and Miho uses an ESP AMAZE-AS/M Lake Placid Blue Bass
LOVEBITES - Holy War lyrics:
Look at those black clouds, it’s going to rain blood
People live in fear, covered in mud
Singing oh Gloria to change the prophecy
We are the metal warriors
Fighting the darkness for sisters
There is a thousand, a thousand of evils
Hush, do not wake up Satan’s devils
Singing Hallelujah to save our majesty
We are the metal warriors
Fighting the darkness for brothers
Shining blade and burning heart
Into the Gates of Hell we march
Immortal soul, let there be light
Into the Eye of Heaven
Eagles at a holy war
Fly higher than the sun
We are one for all and all for one forevermore
Kingdom of Heaven, never shall we fall
Reincarnation, wait for your call
Singing oh, Gloria to change the prophecy
We are the metal warriors
Fighting the darkness for sisters
Morning star and dying moon
Into the Gates of Hell we march
Mighty soul, let there be hope
Into the Eye of Heaven
Eagles at a holy war
Fly higher than the sun
Stand up in the name of the God of heavy metal
What do we live for? What do we fight for, tonight?
But the world is beautiful, worth fighting for
Only have one thing on our mind
Facing the fate, holy war
Singing Hallelujah to save our majesty
We are the metal warriors
Fighting the darkness for brothers
Shining blade and burning heart
Into the Gates of Hell we march
Immortal soul, let there be light
Into the Eye of Heaven
Eagles at a holy war
Fly higher than the sun
We are one for all and for one forevermore
What do we live for? What do we fight for, tonight?
But the world is beautiful, worth fighting for
Only have one thing on our mind
Facing the fate, holy war

lyrics: LOVEBITES
music: Mao
arrangement: LOVEBITES (miho, haruna, midori, miyako, asami)
Thank you so mutch for the comment!! I've learned so mutch. Also, thanks for the tip!! Stay safe!!
Midori is a real virtuoso, I can't get enough of her playing.
Neither do I!! Thanks for the comment!!! 🤘🔥
@@LuisBorges 🤗
What's truly amazing about them is how precise they are, sweep picking is so hard to play precisely at this speed. They also break into other genres as well, Break the wall has some super nasty ass down picking like Old School Slayer or Metallica and Hetfield's Blackened Iconic opener. They are Nasty you would be hard-pressed to find two guitarists playing as well as Miyako and Midori right now.
this one is power metal side, they have some thrash metal songs such as: Thunder Vengeance, Break The Wall, The Hammer Of Wrath
*from live Zepp Tokyo
Btw their albums was mixed by Mikko Karmila and mastered by Mika Jussila, who have worked with acts like Nightwish, Children of Bodom, and Stratovarius, at Finnvox Studios in Helsinki, Finland. Lovebites Won Metal Hammer 2018(Best New Band) and they have played in metal festival such as Wacken, Bloodstock, Graspop and Download.
great reaction video man..
Thank you so mutch!! I have to take a look on thoose bc I am a big Thrash Metal fan!!! Definetly will check it out!!! Stay safe my friend!
Hello Luis , Lovebites is my fav , power thrash metal band right now , amazing guitars solos and dual riff , other level of musicians , greetings from Chile , God bless 🇧🇷 .
Thank you my friend!!
Midori (ponytail) using ESP E-II Horizon QM/FR Reindeer Blue, Miyako (black hair) using Dean Guitars USA Icon Faded Denim.
Nice!! Thank you!!!
"We are sophisticated women" ~ Midori (blond guitarist with purple ESP)
If you continue this journey you will discover their unity (When Destinies Align & We The United).
Thank you for the comment! I'll definetly check some more of their songs!! Stay tunned to check the other videos out!! Hope you enjoy them!!

Allready noted!!! Thank you so mutch for the suggestions!!! I'll definetly check them out!!!

No olho do céu
No olho do céu
Enfrentando o destino, guerra santa
Cantando aleluia para salvar nossa majestade
Nós somos os guerreiros do metal
Lutando contra a escuridão pelos irmãos
Lâmina brilhante e coração ardente
Para os Portões do Inferno nós marchamos
Alma imortal, que haja luz
No olho do céu

Thanks for the comment. Definetly I've feel a lot of thoose inspirations on this song. Thank you for the suggestion!!
Oh, that's nice!! Thanks for pointing that!! Stay safe!!
Need more sir🔥🔥
I Definetly will
Have you heard of Unlucky Morpheus? Symphonic metal with elements of power metal, progressive and death metal, with classical-sounding harmonies. Try "Angreifer" or "Unending Sorceress"

They are inspired by Iron Maiden, Judas Priest, and other 80's metal.

Finalmente LOVEBITES cara. Amor a primeira vista e audição. A harmonia, performance, simpatia, letras de canções positivas e estimulantes, delas é surpreendente (Midori e Miyako tocando guitarras juntas é algo simplesmente fenomenal). Os deuses do Metal estão com elas. "Up the Lovebites". ❤🤘🤘

Nemophila (modern metal), songs: Dessension (MV), Oiran (studio live)
Mary's blood (power/heavy metal), songs: Marionette (MV), Coronation day (live). Enjoy!

Finalmente!

Thank you so mutch for that!! I apreciate it 🤘🔥 Shurelly I'll check a lot of songs of them!!

Resembles a lot Sonata Arctica hahaha
they don't taken inspiration or got influenced by any Brasilian bands. they're highly inspired by US/European 80's & 90’s metal bands. it possibly that Brasilian band that you mentioned have mutual inspiration of those bands that LOVEBITES had mentioned
