Protein Synthesis: Translation

In this video we will cover the second stage of protein synthesis called translation. We will recap transcription and then look at the processes occurring at the ribosome in connection to the mRNA and tRNA, their codons and anticodons. A terminology recap is given at the end.

Excellent video -- just a question -- so the tRNA with an amino acid ( of which there are 50 types) attached reads the codon to help create the polypeptide from amino acids HOWEVER if a codon codes for a specific amino acid how does the tRNA have the correct amino acid to use when it read the codon ? in other words tRNA has to somehow know before hand which amino acid to use BEFORE it gets inside the Ribosone . I am puzzled ? Thanks

The tRNA has an anticodon which corresponds to the codon. This same anticodon attracts the matching amino acid to it so that it can deliver it to the ribosome
