The RidgeBlade is normally silent, on this site the wooden substructure has sunk resulting in the shaft being unbalanced, hence the noise. On a traditional roof structure or our hybrid A frame the shaft would be completely balanced and the integral dampeners would ensure there is no noise/vibrations.
Thx. I've been researching the ridge blade and was about to post an terse comment akin to it sounding like a school band practicing in their parent's garage 😆. Glad I read your post 👍
Ridge Blade seems like they either close to production or already there but there doesn't seem to be a way to get marketing information... and they don't respond to emails. Any hints on how to reach these blokes?
I am also interested in getting one on my roof in Denmark. How can I get in contact with the RidgeBlade? The phone numbers on the website are not in use!
where I live the wind gets up to 115 mph, sometimes no less than 80 mph all day, at times, plus blustery winds, which pulls things backwards and forwards, which is worse than consistent wind. it destroys things. could your product cope with this ? if it was vertical, would it not work consistently regardless of the wind direction ?
If it was vertical, you won't have the benefit of the extra windspeed, provided by the 45° angle of the roof. (45° is optimum, resulting in 2.2x the windspeed)
I have emailed and send Facebook messages to the Power Collective and also received no response. Even if this does produce less power it will still produce at any time of the day or night.
if it help anybody i'm querying about installation in the uk, found greendisti in manchester that may do the installation from the power collective ridgeblade
I have a strong interest in the product of RidgeBlade introduced in your video. May I know where to buy it, and what is that company's contact information? Thanks.
One year later… Is the product ready? Do I need planning permission? Are installers onboard? Can it be plugged into my existing inverter? What does it cost (Per Metre?) How do I get one? I’m sure they will take off! Thanks
These look great, 2.7kwh max with how many extensions on the 1 generator? (assuming more blades you have the less wind needed to start generating) so what's min wind speed for 1 blade and a generator vs say 5 blades on 1 generator. Also can the system have multiple generators and just be to the 1 inverter like separate solar panel strings are for example
@@123klaas The idea is that it's a solution that can blend into the roof of the house. It might not be as versatile as vertical turbines which naturally rotate towards the wind, but that's the trade off for having it blend seamlessly into the house and not have an obnoxious looking fan sticking out of the roof.
@@yourma-uh5um Yes I'm aware of this and it's an fantastic idea, so I'm curious if they will still rotate at a slower pace if the wind is coming from the side of the house, instead of the front and the back. Does anyone managed to order one and who has real life data? I'm very interested in buying them, but it's not available in Europe, at least not in the Netherlands.
I still think this might cause noise and vibration. Imagine lying in bed in near silence. How smooth would this need to be for there to be no discernable noise? That's not easy to achieve. I like the concept, but this needs to be very well Engineered indeed before I could live with it.
They're just looking for investers. 2.7kwh max in what kind of wind? on how big a unit? In ten years they never ever say. This was probably hooked up to a motor.
I have emailed, no response, called office - number disconnected, Australian supplier does not deal with RidgeBlade anymore. Not good, as much as I would like these on my house roof. Not good marketing guys.

Hi, has anyone got any updates on this? I think it's a great idea, I would like it and maybe invest in it if possible.

Is this product available yet please? I have been waiting for its release since 2011. Thank you for your hard work.
I'd love to install these on my home in Oklahoma, USA, but I can't get anyone at The Power Collective to respond to me.
Same, I emailed them and got no reply. I'm in Australia.
I cant either!

I expect it will be a lot quieter once production models get released ?
Thanks for clarifying - the reason for the continuous “clanking” noise 👍

I have also tried contacting RidgeBlade with no luck. Are there other manufacturers who can supply with similar products? Any tips? :)
I wonder how annoyed the neighbors will get if installed on my roof...
🤔
😁🤣🤣😂😂😂
Im getting one!
Where did you purchase the RidgeBlade? Seems like many people are interested, but can not find information on where to buy.
How many kWh does one single turbine provide at 5m/s?
So what is kWp? At what wind speed? Not enough info to progress
How do you purchase a ridge blade in Australia ?

@@michaelculhane3058 never get any answers back, and they have been in production for years if you look through the older videos.
2.7kw generation is based on 5 rotor units, integrated into a roof mounted turbine... not 1 single rotor unit.
if the wind is not flowing in the correct direction, how will it work ?
According to their website, it can work in both directions.
Not sure what it will do with wind from the sides.

The music was too loud to really soak up the shaft misalignment noise.
It’s spinning like hell with hardly any wind at all but he has to straighten his hair because it’s so windy. 👍🏼
Sounds quite noisy? Is this a prototype or something 🤔

Designs like this have been around for decades. The issue with all of these is their fixed orientation, I.e. wind blowing along it is of no use.
supposedly it benefit from 70% of all wind orientation.
