Fear of the Lord comes from knowing that He is the only one Who can destroy both body and soul in Hell. Fear of the Lord comes from knowing the Law of God and that that the penalty of sin is death. The only way to salvation is through the blood of Christ.
I've been battling herione addiction and all sorts of other things. Not a perfect person. But Jesus is my Lord and since my life has slowly become better and better. I can do better though and that's the goal.

I hear your message and up to a point you are right, but if someone is new, and it is their first time in your church they should be acknowledged, welcomed, and someone should say hi. It would be like walking into a refrigerator where CHRIST'S love SHOULD abound. Would Christ preach, "if someone new comes to OUR church, just ignore them, turn your back to them and force them to say hi first"? Pastor, it really surprised me that you said that. I would have thought that you would have been the first to commend your congregation to make anyone coming to your church, so welcome, that they would never stop coming back - john.

In other comments, I have stated that Pastor Steve is a phenomenal preacher, and he really is, but in this case, I hold to my comment above. How did the stranger bypass so many greeters? Still, it is the church's job to welcome newcomers. A newcomer can do his best to say hello to someone, but he is not in the position to be a "greeter" to church members. - john
