Change is in the air! Everyone is doing something different to their natural hair recently. I wanted a big change and was going to relax my hair but opted for bleached highlights with a pop of colour instead and possibly relax if the urge comes back. Im giving myself a month lol so far I'm liking it, the change I needed
@@xtelfolaj I did cross my mind. But I got it done professionally and it's partially placed so not all over my hair so I think I'll be OK if I end up relaxing it. Could probably coat the bleached bits with oil or vaseline before I relax as extra precaution🤔

Girl...This maintenence sounds more intense than natural hair. I've been natural for 9 years now and I think long natural hair is exhausting but it's also a lot more forgiving. Any chemicals will make your hair sensitive to even the weather.

Yeah Mizani is GREAT I highly recommend it! That was my fave brand when my hair was relaxed, they have high quality products. Honestly your hair looks beautiful, great, healthy and thick relaxed or natural. You seem to really know how to take care of it! Personally I'm forever done with relaxing my hair because I don't have have the patience to do touch up, my relaxed hair required tons of maintenance and I had a hard time retaining length whereas now I actually can. When I want straight hair I just get a weave LOL!
I regretted relaxing mine so badly. I relaxed my natural hair for the first time in my life last year too. I loved it till one day I just missed my natural hair so badly. Yours looks amazing!

Im sooo scared to do a silk press because my curls have thrived only since ive stopped. And no im not doing it myself these were professional silk presses only and i was doing it about 6 times per year.
I relaxed 2 times, and now i am natural again, have been 9 years now, since my first journey started, wont back down now if i am going to be back my hair will never grow lol.

As someone who is transitioning out of being texlaxed after 6 years, the new growth tangling and knotting will be so irritating if you decide to stretch, but it's easier to style. You exchange one struggle for another but I don't regret my time being texlaxed :)
Long natural hair requires maintenance whether we admit it or not... When I want a sleek look, I get a silk press... However, I will be getting a Revvair soon so that I can save $150 for each silk press. I do not want to go back to relaxers ever again.
The trick is not to let it get to a dry level. Every 2 days of hydrating your ends keeps it from drying. You have to hydrate your ends for your hair to stay long.
You can go back to natural from relax. But that’s if you have extremely stubborn hair. I relaxed my hair a few times and my hair would be straight-ish for a few weeks and all of a sudden would revert. It’s crazy and rare but it does happen. Gave up on relaxers & my hair is 100% natural. It shrinks over 90% when I wash.

Av honestly tried maintaining natural hair for the last 4 years and it was haaaaard. Relaxed it 3 months ago and am enjoying every minute.
If u have 4c hair its very hard to manage.it takes time.it can get exhausting.
