Besides nate and blair never would have worked out as a couple. Chuck's right, they have no spark or passion.
nates what I like to call her high school boyfriend unrealistic I think eventually she would have gotten bored with him
Nate and Blair are only that way because of how badly they are written in the show. They are so much better in the books where they have a real relationship that actually develops.
Straying from book Nate/Blair allowed the characters to grow. Nate's personality shines brightest with Serena and it was good drama to show him being manipulated into staying with Blair by his desperate father, in order to keep the Archibalds popular in society. The shift in Blair's affections from Nate to Chuck felt natural. It progressed her character. She stopped being bitchy & shallow, became strong & caring.
I wonder why Ed and Leighton never dated IRL. Or at least that's what we know. How could a couple with so much onscreen chemistry never had a spark offscreen.
I know usually when couples have this much on screen chemistry they end up dating at one point. Very surprising. They has some of the most amazing on screen chemistry that I've ever seen.

@@TheRedWineGal yeah I think it was a timing thing. I could be wrong but he seemed really into her, but maybe she was lukewarm on the situation? It’s a big gamble to date your costar because if it ends badly, the show suffers & that could affect future work. Blair & Chuck were almost always in scenes together, so it would’ve been a bit of a risk. I know Scott Patterson from Gilmore Girls said he had a big crush on Lauren Graham early on, but told himself to keep it professional. On the flip side, Nina & Ian (from Vampire Diaries) dated irl and when it ended, they had to awkwardly keep the relationship going between characters. She left prematurely in S6, and people still speculate if it was over the breakup. Although they’ve never spoken badly about each other afterwards, so who knows.

Yeah. They couldn't have made it more obvious that this was thrown in to the show just because Ed and Jessica were close off screen. Chuck and Vanessa despised each other, so this is one of the most unrealistic hook-ups ever on Gossip Girl. It's completely out of character for them both.
iluvlafferty now that i watch the whole show i think chuck vould had made it work sometime Opposites attract ..they did chuck wrong like he only love one person the whole show blair had a men on every season nate chuck louie markisa dan of all people she love 5 people they gave chuck to love well one .i think they should kept Eva lil l longer or they should have brought her back
Nakia Reddick when blair likes someone it’s usually to get back at chuck. i️ have no explanation for louis or dan though. but it’s different when chuck has another love interest bc of his character. his personality is very hard to cut through. if he ends up liking someone other than blair, i️t would be rly serious. blair was the only one who could rly see him and understand him. i️t was different for blair bc she’d act so fake around her other love interests.
