    Good explanation. But the cation does not push the electron cloud of anion but it attracts the electron cloud and distorts the anion electron cloud causing the polarization.

    Can I ask the question
    When you was in class 7 this topic that fajans rules were not there or there

  • @masilansamuel4602

    Instead of using the electron configuration to find the compounds that's having more ionic naturel ( just like how mam did for NaCl and CuCl ) since cooper has more electronegativity So, higher electronegativity helps atoms take more control over shared electrons creating partial negative regions and partial positive regions so you can simply say tat CuCl is more covalent ..hope you guys find this useful.

    Mam why does NaCl form ionic bond and not covalent bond?

    • @masilansamuel4602
      @masilansamuel4602 3 года назад +1

      The bond is considered to be ionic if the difference in electron negativity’ between the metal atom and non metal atom is greater than 1.5. Here cl ( 3.16 ) and na ( 0.93) 3.16-0.93 is greater than 1.5 hope you understood for the formation of ionic bond the two different atoms combining should have different behavior
