    BeCl2 does not form linear molecules. It is a crystal up to about 400 C made up of BeCl4 tetrahedra units connected via edge-sharing or corner-sharing (depending on structure type) so the Cl - Be - Cl bond angle is more close to 109.5 degrees. You can get a linear molecule when you have it is gas-phase (it forms dimeres first) but the stable form is not linear.

      Yes, that's why i watched the whole video and here i am at the end, still having no idea why SP³ hybridization occurres in BeCl2 while in solid state... 😓

      see her the line doesnt represent only bond it represent electron cloud right and if you observe closely you will find they are seperated by some distance, to avoid replusion they are not beside ok va

    I tried the calculation for BCl3, it showed that BCl3 is Sp hybridized instead of Sp2. Why? Can someone please explain

      This is be cl 2 not be cl 3 and yes be cl 3 will be sp2 hybridized
