Hello, you are playing the beat correctly, but the sheet music is INCORRECT. The kick drum on beat #3 in the verse is an EIGHTH NOTE TRIPLET, and NOT a standard eighth note. Therefore, the ride beamed to that kick note should be the first note of an eighth note triplet, and the kick being the third note of the triplet, with an eighth note rest in between. Same thing in the chorus on every 4th measure in beats 1 & 3. That's what gives the beat its "bouncy", "push-style" feel. The way that your sheet music is with eighth notes would NOT give it that feel if you were to play it in an eighth note fashion. Sorry for that bad news, because now you need to correct your video, drum tutorial book AND your PDF (ouch).
