    Just wanna say well done for getting checked out with reduced movements. I had the same when I was 6 days over due. Everyone kept trying to tell me I was over reacting or he had no room to move which is not the case. So I listened to my body and went to the hospital. Next thing I knew I was being rushed to theatre and put to sleep to get him out. I am forever greatful I trusted my instincts xxx

      Always trust your momma instincts. I almost lost my daughter if I wouldn’t have gone in to be checked bc I felt something was wrong. She was still moving and everything I just felt off. Found out she hadn’t been getting anything from my placenta and was considered failure to thrive and had to be induced early to get her out and safe. Also found out I had preeclampsia after I had her. People told me I was over reacting and being paranoid too but my little girl wouldn’t be here today if I wouldn’t have listened to my gut. She’ll be 5 next week and is doing great despite being premature & having a rough start. ❤

    Ive noticed that being short of breath is extremely common in pregnancy. It’s good that your doctor wants to rule out anemia but she should have also explained that what you are experiencing happens quite often and is somewhat “normal”.

    • @schaynegeorge4793
      @schaynegeorge4793 Год назад +3

      Yeah, some babies just like to push your organs into your lungs, but checking for anemia is a good thing anyway because if that's the issue it can be fixed. I mentioned I was absolutely exhausted at some point and it turned out I had severe anemia and two weeks on iron supplements fixed the exhaustion and breathlessness even though my iron levels were still poor.

    Having trouble breathing is Definitely very normal especially as you get bigger. the baby pushes on your diaphragm. Makes sense right. I recommend you focus on your anxiety as a whole, not so much all the individual things you worry about, you should try to take ten mins at the end of each day to purposely sit, breath and try calm your racing thoughts. This can also be helpful once your baby is born as once he here, Unfortunately there's going to be much more you'll be worried about so trying to manage wanting to control everything and your anxiety as a whole should help settle your nerves. Well that's my idea for you anyway. I hate to see you suffer unesacerrily when you can do things to try and help. I'm sure if you google meditation for labour you'll find a rabbit whole. Just remember the pain is for a reason, it's to tell your body and you what you should be doing. Much love sweetheart.xxxx

    Feeling exhausted and breathless from doing nothing is very normal in pregnancy, everything is getting squished upwards. I remember at the very end almost feeling like you can’t take a half breath in, inconvenient but normal and goes away after birth. Being fearful of giving birth is something I think every woman goes through, it’s a fear of the unknown. Hypnobirth techniques really helped. Talking about birth options is definitely a good idea, either way (natural or c section) has its own advantages and disadvantages, pain is a given in both. But it’s pain with purpose and you do recover. Do what feels right and know your body can do it!

    I highly recommend doing a hypnobirthing course. I know you've had MH struggles so I guess you're probably familiar with CBT - hypnobirthing is essentially CBT for birth. The Positive Birth Company's online pack might be useful for you - given what you say about finding appointments uncomfortable because you just don't want to confront things, the online pack would let you watch the videos you want to/ can cope with at home at a time you feel capable. Hopefully the birthing options person is helpful; hypnobirthing might just help as it's all about mindset and feeling in control of your birth, and feeling empowered to make decisions.
    All the best for the rest of your pregnancy 💕 I have two little boys and I remember these days so well. It's overwhelming. But this is only the beginning. You have years of joy without these symptoms interfering to come. Xxx

    Hey hey, I was also a baby wearing mama for almost 2 years. I just would like to suggest that you wait before buying that extension part of the coat to fit the baby carrier. Evaluate post-partum how often you use the carrier, and who is carrying the baby. Cos a friend of mine bought it, and actually only used it a few times. It happened that it was cold, she was tired, so she preferred to use the stroller, and didn’t really start using the carrier till when the baby was 3 months plus. Her husband didn’t like using the carrier, so the stroller was their choice. In my case, I baby-wore from week 2, and when winter arrived I wore my husband‘s winter jacket over us. My husband also wore the baby with an extra large coat over. That was also only 4 months of the year. The second winter came, and the toddler preferred the stroller, so we didn’t need any large jacket anymore. So perhaps you could borrow an old winter jacket from your father or a larger relative/friend.

      I made my rain coat and all through my pregnancy I was like "oh I gotta make the maternity panel and baby wearing panel". I ended up not needing the maternity panel, my coat fit over my giant bump right up through 41 weeks and I made the baby wearing panel when bub was 11mo because her feet started poking out the bottom of my coat if I snapped it closed around her and she needed a waterproof hood.
      That said, I live in Australia, winter isn't too severe here and I made it through 4+ years of baby wearing my twins without needing a specific baby wearing coat.

    When birthing it's helpful to be fully present and try to relax and let your body do most of the work. Work with your body. Also it's your body and advocate for yourself. If nurses bully you or shame you for any of your choices just stand your ground and trust your inner gut. I'm sure they won't but some can get that way.

      @@zoepeters3826 there is actually quite a bit of support here in the U.S. too. Part of the problem is how we distribute political power. Some states that have a much smaller population have more voting power per capita than the states with larger populations. There is also a fair amount of gerrymandering which skews districts either more Republican or more Democratic than what is representative of the state population. A lot of the population lives in urban areas and tend to be more liberal but their vote doesn’t have as much sway per person compared to less densely populated states. This can be particularly frustrating when most of the population wants things like affordable healthcare and more but politicians strike it down or make it too polarized. 😔

I wear a lot of tailored clothes, especially to work, and those just did not work for me during pregnancy, so I did need to buy a decent wardrobe. I did find that I could mostly wear my shirts from before, by putting them with high waisted maternity skits and just trying them off. I recommend a positive birth book by Millie hill. Especially in terms of birth options, because she goes through everything that can happen and what your choices are. Like a lot of books, they do feel quite prone natural birth.. But I do feel like this is the more level book. And pronatural is fine is fine. But it is very easy to get into this lane of thinking that you must have a natural birth or you have failed.
    I felt like that after my C-section. Second birth was a vbac ( vaginal after csec) So I can frankly tell you that both of them have their ups and downs.
    Either way, whatever you do, research everything even the scary stuff because you don't want to be faced with a decision that you don't understand completely during birth because you will not be in your right self. You will not be capable of taking in that kind of information and processing it.

    I loveeee these videos from you Bryony! (is that the correct spelling...?) I just love the casual chilling chatting videos. It actually really helps calm me, calms my anxiety and stops my head from going on and on and on, sometimes it just doesn't shut up lol. Anyway, glad to see you looking better, I personally think you're starting to get that pregnancy glow a bit! And it's exciting to see your belly getting bigger n stuff. Are you going to film the birth? Obviously not like the details of it but do you think you might film say your face, then when baby comes out and is on your chest you can show that? Or are you just going to talk about how the birth was rather than show it? Just thought I'd ask! I'd love to see the birth, I really enjoy those videos, I'm never gonna have kids myself so to me it's so nice to witness. Obviously you don't even have to answer that, just thought I'd send u a little query about it!! Hope you're enjoying the run up to Christmas too, those roasted chestnuts looked amazing! Sending love to you and bump! ♥️

    Great video! Could you explain more about cloth nappies? What do you do with the poop?

    • @shychick84
      @shychick84 Год назад

      You tip the solids (poop) down the toilet. Rinse as much of the remaining left as possible. Separate the liner from the outer portion if using nappies with the snaps. Soak the nappy and liner in a bucket with your preferred nappy soak. Then put the nappies in the washing machine. If using the square cloth nappies. Just rinse soak and wash.

    Normal things during pregnancy that you’re experiencing are very traumatic and my advice would be to stay with your parents because their Safetynet trust me I went through even the start of preeclampsia with my first pregnancy, was able to get rid of that and we’re still not sure how I did it But my Safetynet was hanging out with my family and got through both of my pregnancies, and was very happy to have the help

      With maternity allowance for self-employed mums in the UK there are rules about how much work you are allowed to do during your maternity leave. And from what I've heard you are allowed very little work, which means that if you are running your own business it would be difficult to take too much time off. I think that's why the time she wants to take off is not very long.

    weird that they would spring a diabetes check on you like that and not take in to account when you last ate. Also odd that they check the urine like blood glucose monitors aren't a thing?

    • @alexwegner4221
      @alexwegner4221 Год назад +1

      They always check urine during pregnancy to check for protein

    • @dottiewi661
      @dottiewi661 Год назад

      I think, they also test the urine for other things as well (protein etc -> (pre)eclampsia) and urine test strips come with different spots for different indicators for bacteria etc. Also, normally urine shouldn’t have any glucose, as far as I remember. There is something called oral glucose tolerance test, where one has to drink a specific amount of glucose solution and then the blood sugar is monitored for a time, but I don’t know, if that is a standard procedure for every pregnancy in different countries . Yes, blood sugar (capillary blood) is very easy to measure, and may vary when you ate. But she mentioned the urine test, maybe this appointment wasn’t specifically about diabetes, but maybe in that week there is always a urine test. (I mean it’s a TV series, but in Call the Midwife (before strip tests) they were always boiling urine, but then they probably couldn’t do blood work just like today and had to rely on other body fluids for immediate results?)

    Maybe check with your midwife about covid risks to your baby. Might be prudent to wear N95s when inside. Surgical masks provide very little protection. Sorry to be a bummer...

      I caught covid when I gave birth a few months ago. It made them first few weeks so much harder. That being said, I was in so much sensory overload during birth there was no way I could have worn a mask during labour...on the ward I kept the curtains pulled to but honestly not sure when/how I got infected. Probably from 2 wards+visitors using the same 2 toilets.

      @@christinejones7721 Oh I didn't even think of that! That does suck, sorry for you. I guess another argument for birthing at home if the delivery is low risk. I was more referring to wearing N95s inside stores and things before the birth - why take the risk? But I didn't think about the birth itself, good point.

      @jenniferbooth9235 Год назад

      Depending on employer size, US federal law allows you 12 weeks off with your employer being required to have a job for you to return to. Unless your state has a paid FMLA program (very few at this point), you have short term disability, or paid vacation from your employer it's all unpaid. Combine that with the high price of child care, it can feel very bankrupting for some.
