haha yeah totally! In fact... when I did it, it felt really easy 😂 And I do think that on a cold dry day, for someonelse, it will feel easy. Who knows, it may even get downgraded? But my experience was the battle with the weather, and humidity, and all that stuff :P Thats whats fun about climbing... everyone has a different experience
@@RobbiePhillips the process of climbing new boulder problems is my favorite. thanks for making this video. it was super entertaining. p.s. i live in so cal so the only thing im battling is too much sun
@@michaelmcdermed841 oh yeah... if only we had your seasons! I was always blown away by how dry it is in california. Spent a fair bit of time in Yosemite/JTree over the years and I'm super jealous of the amount of good rock and perfect connies. I may be back later in the year actually...
Plenty of brilliant lines in Wicklow worth coming for. The Hills Have Eyes, Leftism, Pepsi Max, Space Machine, Wonderland! The weather isn't always that bad....
That was beautiful line / addition. Loved the long shot of you climbing looked super nice too. Shows all the perseverance was worth it and the last day vibes where huge! Also great info at the end about climbing on wet rock. Feel like not enough people know about limestone / sand stone climbing. Keep up the great work Robbie
Oh i love this happy endings, great storytelling great video. Quality content as always. Would be nice to wear some merch from you to take the psyche to the world. T-shirts with "Oh my God!" And a sketch of you with hands on the Head. Greetings from Switzerland.
Hahaha fun idea, but I may get eternally ribbed by my mates if there was a tshirt with my head on it doing the rounds :P But I do like the idea of a fun practical merch... maybe a crag tea mug with something cool on it :P

I think there is a lot of hard projects worth trying up in fairhead in Northern Ireland robbie. The one beside spindle looks incredibly hard and beautiful
He’ you!! I take offence that, I’m proper mad! I do like a high ball but a much easier grade like a 5+ 😅………really well done on the send, the psych was so fu£&ing high!! 👏🏼👏🏼🏴🔥
@@RobbiePhillips Absolutely. Sorry about that - it was a bit of a mad period for us with so many plans. We're leaving to Font on Saturday for two weeks tho... :) Get in touch the next time you're around!
Oh yeah? I’ve not heard of that before. I think by definition any rock type that can can contain moisture would probably weaken somewhat in the wet. I am of course speaking with no authority on the matter whatsoever 😂 only from what I’ve seen and heard from climbers and geologists. Maybe we can find a climbing geologist on here to help us?
@@JoBianco well... maybe not forever forever... but his gf works there and he has a remote job as an editor for "Climbers Crag". I did ask him to join me in Ireland but he'd taken a bit of a break from climbing. He's back at it now though so hoping we can catch up for a trip in the summer :)
Great video Robbie, that bloc looks stunning! PS a video on how you setup and use an abseil for working boulders would be sick!
Yeah totally! People have been asking for this for ages! I promise I'll do it very soon!
Yeah I would also love a video on the boulder abseil set up 😄
You are a ..real …stonelover ! A real ..artist ! How ALL your energy meets the HUGE weight of the rock …I am mad about it .Thank you from France .
Thanks mate!!! :D
That dry fire knuckle scrape 🤮
this is one of those problems that looks easy, and then you actually touch it and try to move up and you cant.

I'd been missing the sheer barrage of happy cursing 🙂
More on the way!
Sick send... and thanks for showing both the struggle and the victory. All the suffering makes the send sweeter, right?
Definitely! I'm a stubborn B******, but thats because I know how good it will feel at the end :P
Do Patagonia do umbrellas?....I mean big umbrellas...?😅
To cover a boulder??? 😂
@@RobbiePhillips indeed 😊
the dry fire knuckle drag is a bitch!!
i;ve still got the scab!
"music" is way too loud and intrusive/pointless

Thanks Francois
Nice to see the level of satisfaction from doing it.

Definitely keen for fairhead next year :)!
I'd like to go to Ireland but there's some much to do in GB that i haven't touched and don't have to take a ferry for...
True! Every year I do work in Ireland so I make the most of the free ferry ⛴
Nice one, youth. Did you return for that one at Cratcliffe?
Ahhh the 7C+! No I didn’t… not been that far south since tbh. Keen to return one day. Feel like I’d be in good shape now for that actually.
NICE BRO I AM FROM PAKISTAN
Amazing send
Congratulations, Robbie! Great experience and excellent editing too!
Cheers Arina - working on the editing, slowly improving :)
Warrior !
if you bring a little generator or battery bank and a hair dryer to dry the holds, is it aid?
Haha 😂 nah fair game! I reckon carrying a generator adds a grade
The line, the view, the process.
Beautiful stuff 👍🏻

Not all sandstone gets brittle when wet. The southern sandstone in the southern US is one such type, absolutely bullet rock.
