I'm really excited about this series
Pretty much agree all around.
I really like the way the battlepass works in Apex. Battlepasses in general are a nice idea since you get rewards through actually playing, and not just rewarding the rich. Through only the free battlepass, you do get some coins which means that you can get a season's battlepass for free if you just do that for a few seasons. Slow, but possible. Once you have the paid battlepass, you get even more free currency, more than enough to pay for the next battlepass immediately. There is signficantly more rewards for having the battlepass then not, so it's nice to have. It doesn't cost much to buy a battlepass normally, and it feels like it's just to get the ball rolling. So it feels like I'm giving more and more value to a purchase by playing, and it gives me something to work towards which makes the game more enjoyable and satisfying too.
I don't think I've ever paid for a microtransaction, only DLC if that's a separate thing. I definitely want the fancy cosmetics you have to pay for in a lot of stuff but Im good at resisting temptation.
You mentioned the horse armor thing. If there are any historic gsming controveries that you experienced in real time I think it would be cool to hear about that from your perspective.
