    What wonderful places you have to train! I'd love to fly over and skate some of those lovely smooth roads.

    Vraiment un très joli circuit, la belle ligne droite a malheureusement été rénovée !!!
    Si vous repassez dans le secteur, ce serait un plaisir de vous montrer de nouvelles traces !!

    Hello Briand !!, very good video and training !!! Thxs to share, xd. It is wonderful to see others train in this way. Here in the Canary Islands it is a little difficult to find someone training a marathon on open roads. The section with the bike was amazing!!

    Hi Pascal. May I ask you a question: do you do also weight lifting (especially squats, lunges, leg curl, leg extensions) in your training routine? And eventually how much frequently you do it?

    • @ThePascalbriand

      i was doing 2 times a Week...but not the last 10 years almost^^ unfortunatly...i would need to restart but as i'm not training a lot i focus on skating mainly when i have opportunity

      Yeah that’s also my problem (the lack of time). Sometimes I take the opportunity to do some gym in rainy days as I don’t have a chance to access an indoor skating ring. I’ve seen Noemi Bonazza (a tremendous Italian ice-skater) doing squats with 140 kg on the barbell. I’ve found quite interesting what she told me: after lifting big weights with squats it’s necessary to transform the power in speed doing some quick low weight squats after the heavy ones. Do you agree?

My personal question my daughter Harveen kaur age 10 ur student in pune camp this year has perfecting her tecniqs as u thought and has improved a lot but not gaining the speed as the other skaters of her age grp. Navjeet Sahni young skater will progress in speed not at same rythm ... dépend of when their body want to grow or not. Take time to respect this. Cycling will not help. Focus on skating technique and agility. Put some speed leg in agility workout. She can do cycling later when she is senior or junior... it seems that it’s commun mistake in India to want to run before knowing how to walk perfectly. Give her time to grow as her body want... be patient and work skating skills. :-)

    Hey Pascal, do you also do a training session the day before a marathon? I know Felix does it.
    But, is it a good idea and why?
    I usually take two days off to charge my "batteries" before a race.
    Thanks for the detailed videos!

    • @ThePascalbriand
      @ThePascalbriand  6 лет назад +2

      Yes I also try to skate the day before the race and do few sprint... actually I meet Felix last year the day before Berlin in Tempelhof ...

      What is the benefit, compared to just take a day off?

    After 10k my lower back hurts like hell and I always need to stop.

      Daniel Scheer hi yes many people have this problem which can be hard to solve... what can help is too take a little less aerodynamic position... but put hip more down to generate still good pressure.... probably you get more pain in the legs but less back pain... other option is to work more abs so they support more your back... or check if abs and lower back muscle group are not unbalanced

      pascal briand thanks for the tips, found some exercises to strengthen those specific muscles and to bring the hips back in balance in case they're out

    Pascal are u ever scared of falling. Sometimes I cant get it out of my head. Also are u ever are of breath it seems like its so easy for u to just keep going.

    • @ThePascalbriand
      @ThePascalbriand  6 лет назад +4

      GreenTools NYC Im never thinking about falling actually. It’s not eve coming in my mind for a second but it’s because of the agility level. The more agility you have on your skate the less you will think about falling. I suggest you do more little skills exercice and play at easy speed on your skate and you will see this’felling going away slowly....

      As he says, we don't think of it. If you are uncomfortable, you have to go gradually and get used. You also have to learn how to fall, so you'll be less scared, and you'll be less hurt in case you fall. 2 years ago I felt at 60kph (37mph), and I did what batman learned me : I picked me up ;)
