Wanted to do the often requested Frost DK PvP Guide as a 1k sub special, but i had time to do it now so: yolo, might as well release it now :D hope this is still helpful to some of you for the rest of S7 (maybe even for title push?!), is now announced ending 3rd Oct didn't know when i recorded this :P and for a very long S8 (whole ICC and Ruby Sanctum after).
I tried to include all the frequently asked questions i get about Frost DK in PvP in it, but if you still want to know anything, don't hesitate to ask in the commets! Amazing guide! Well done. Been a frosty for a while. I agree it's more rewarding and faster games IE 1min resets vs 3min on garg. Have you tried double buff 2H Frost? It's a fun spec for 3's. Abom + IT. You get mark of blood & rune tap for surv and HC & FS for cc & dmg.
ty! and no i didn't try yet, it could be decent in 3s with another meele, just rough in 3s without anti magic tool like AMZ and when i tried deep blood, the biggest problem reaching higher mmr with all the nice blood tools is mark of blood just gets dispelled and rune tap value heavily reduced by all the healing reduction
but i believe it could be fun and still playable at decent raiting sure, basically just the flex points spec where u go rune tap sub blood and then even further down in blood a bit i guess
actually the most value from the double buff should be not only 1 other meele, but maybe a 3x DPS yolo comp instead, speaking of this: 24:54 i think they were running something similar, just no Abom needed, cause they have 10% AP enhancer buff already, but i remember them having mark of blood pretty sure and as they have an unholy also in the comp they even get the anti-magic zone frost is so desperately missing for the whole grp. It surprised me how hard to kill they were and pumping heavy ofc, so even for a hpal it can be hard to outheal, thats why i put such comp also in the tierlist :D
i think if you go down until abom just depends if you will have an enha in your comp or not (or maybe hunter also providing aura), but imo for such comp an enhancer should be optimally in it, as its the only meele in the game that can provide a purge and also bloodlust on top of everything. Having meele heavy comp without any purge for all the bops from palas sounds kinda meh... Except enha, what could still work kinda well with this spec is maybe a ret with a rsham or other meele + disc i suppose, but yea then its more of a supporter role instead of self-pump, could depend a bit on gear also (for example supporting for a Ret or Warr with full BiS and Shadowmourne?)

Have you tried a build with necrosis and blood caked Blade? You can pick up the death grip talent on the way and your auto Attack is crazy
nop, its not worth trust me, for dks autoattack is not a reliable enough dmg source in pvp for multiple reasons: Its pure physical dmg and dks dont use arp in pvp, nor do they have armor reducing debuffs like warrior sunder armor for example, or if they would be in a raid. Necrosis is based of the initial white-hit damage tho and therefore not as strong in pvp. Then you can get disarmed, outranged/kited in pvp, further reducing the value of such talents compared to AP (Bladed Armor) or % Frost dmg (Black Ice) for Howling Blast or spells in general. There is also alot of absorbed dmg from shields in pvp and BcB wont proc from that. BcB can be worth considering with a proc weapon as Unholy, but as Frost in PvP i would never advise u to go this far in Unholy. You will have to invest so many points that you lose alot of other juicy talents too, like Scent of Blood and Chill of the Grave, both giving you crucial runic power to spam frost strkes if needed. Getting the lowered grip CD alone can be worth depending on comp/situation, even tho it is alrdy bit of a pain to spend 4 talent points just to get 10 sec less CD.
On top of all that, i forgot to mention dual wield has an insanely high miss chance for auto-attack whitehits and in a pvp enviroment, you will not have +hit raid buffs or not even close to enough hit in pvp gear to make these talents work like in pve
hello could clarify something, on the issue of damage that looks better the overall preferred appearance or low grip on cd?
overall preferred/dmg = Bladed Armor (Sub Blood Spec), Peel/Utility, less dmg = low grip CD (Sub Unholy)

As frost dk can I play with frost mage for 2v2? He is frost, I am, more cc, I think it's not problem
tbh i think its better for 3v3 with a healer, cause in 2v2 it will be very hard to survive with this, depends on where u want to go raiting-wise
saw some people play unholy dk+ frost mage in 2v2 but even then its hard to get to semi-high or higher raiting and unholy dk can alrdy survive way longer than frost dk without a healer
@@Razoonx I guess you are right, what do you think then about enh shaman? Or retri/preg pala is better? Actually I cannot choose between shaman and paladin, could you help me please? Something like pros and cons for both pvp and pve content.
@kristianhadzhiev4479 enh and retri/preg is both defntly better than playing with mage for 2s, but playing with a paladin is always best for any dk and playing with a healer is always even better for frost cause of lower survivability with ability to cc and pump
i dont quite understand the second question with pros and cons for pve, unless u want to play as one of those classes and not with them, but honestly also dont know for pve rly for them

@@eliastkt2622 ye, weak vs casters and without an own stun susceptible vs dodge/disarm/block vs meeles and low selfhealing, can only try to burst down some players, but against better players wont work
even other offmeta specs like boomkin,fire/arcan mage or blood dks have better tools to work with for a 1v1
Here is a weapon swap macro for 2hd burst i have come up with in the equipslot 16 add what ever your 2hd weapon is then spam the macro for the castsequence and make sure you add your proper ranks in the castsequence macro are i made this macro on my dk alt.
/cast Blood Fury(Racial)
/use 14
/cast Deathchill
/cast Unbreakable Armor
/cast Blood Tap
/equipslot 16 add 2hd weapon here
/castsequence reset=4 Howling Blast(Rank 2),Obliterate(Rank 2),Frost Strike(Rank 4)
here is a weapon swap macro to go back to dw after your bust same thing here add what ever your dw weapons are

yo, but thats extra global to swap back and forth and it resets the swing timer also, with normal dw spec with threat of thassarian it doesnt rly do more dmg on the styles 🤔 i dont think there is any point in doing that
@@Razoonx Howling blast scales better with a 2hd weapon bigger burst.
@@hvdiv17 if you have a 2h weapon with big strength on it, minimal dmg up for howling blast , let me give u example: 2x 1h s7 weapon around 1705 howling blast dmg and swap to 2h bryntroll with +185 str (instead of ap) and gems on it: 1750 dmg max, sometimes even lower, not worth to swap weapons back and forth for that and waste 2 globals and swing timer over such small dmg difference
the only time such swap could be maybe considered is if enemies in freeze and u have time to prepare and 1hit to finish them, so similar situation when u could use blood presence also for the last hit. but it needs to be rly big weapon to make up for the +25% offhand dmg talent, so basically Shadowmourne(even then im not sure) what im sure about is that this is the only situation where it could be maybe worth to swap 2h, otherwise if up play dual wield spec, the swing timer reset and extra gcd in combat will make it not worth and if u play 2h frost spec there is no nee to play 1handers unless you want to have 2x weapon enchants momentarily to counter something with spellshatter weapon/swordshatter weapon for example then u also can use macro for that
