We also wanted to hear about whether singers exist behind the members and who they might be, but could not get an answer as it was confidential. But next time we interview, maybe we might be able to get a clue, since the members will be present :) So please subscribe and stay tuned! 💙

I think there might be an audience for this but I hope this is not the main future of kpop and music in general. To me, seeing and hearing real singers, real human talent and the difference each singer/dancer brings is what makes music enjoyable. There is a wonder in hearing individuals express the emotions and tones of a song that is so important to the human experience that I don't think AI can bring.

I don't think any label can decide when the new generation will start. I mean, this whole "generations idea" is not really an "official thing", because it doesn't work like Kpop labels would gather to one point somewhere and announce: "From this moment on, the new generation is starting"...
It's a process on its own and we realise the new generation has started after some time, not right at the moment.
I see these metaverse groups (I am glad they don't use the term "AI group", because they are not an AI, but virtual...) as a 4.5 generation something similar as with 1.5 generation and mainly with BoA Kpop started to get outside of Korea (I mean across Asian countries) and with the 2nd generation it was a common thing for groups to focus on the Japanese market for example.
And since æspa are presented as something like the "ambassadors of metaverse", I see their debut, or to make it easier to count, let's take it with the start of 2021 (since they debuted at the end of 2020), as the start of 4.5 generation, where metaverse groups and virtual idols started to be more and more common.
And because this was like 3 years since the start of the 4th generation, I guess we are close to the end, but it's hard to tell right now as they are doing...
Also the term "global (pop) groups" started to be used more and more these past 2-3 years, so although the metaverse groups are getting much more better, I don't think this will be the main thing of the 5th generation.
It will be something similar as with vocaloids in the J-Pop scene. It will be a part of the scene, popular among some fans, but not like the whole scene would be centred around that.
I would rather say that the global groups might be much probable to be the main thing of the 5th generation.

i mean, " the gorillaz" proved it's possible to stay somewhat anonymous and be successful but on second glance it's much different. this just takes it a few steps further.
what i perceive negatively about it is, that there are 4 girls or women who put in all the work and don't get a chance to get recognized for it.
this is setting a precedent for all kinds of issues, starting with labels getting the idea of a " problem" taken out of their hands concerning controlling idols and managing their image.
a virtual idol is always obedient and does as they're told. they don't get into " scandals" and most importantly, they don't get paid.
the uncredited singers do but i'm pretty convinced it's nowhere near what an idol would make.
this is some hardcore capitalist, sociopathic bs. it's all about effectiveness and not having to deal with real humans.

Can you imagine training for years, working your ass off and sacrificing a normal life, just to be beat by an artificial and programmed group. I would be livid as a member and a fan.

I think the metaverse group thing is quite lame tbh, across the world, kpop is still considered a niche genre, now they're just building a niche within a niche. There will surely be people who subscribe to it, but it won't take off and Ultimately provides more ammo to the detractors of kpop. Maybe, I'm too pessimistic, but I don't see it being a worthwhile investment in my lifetime.

you can't be a "niche" and a billion dolar industry.kpop is not a "niche" at all its a huge industry.

I have a felling that what 5th gen will be will just be company’s debuting minors and AI groups and of that’s the case then I won’t be looking forward for 5th gen the reason why I DO NOT THINK company’s should be debuting minors in the kpop industry they should debut them at the right age such as 20 to 22 years old cuss I think they will be proper ready by that age and understand what they are getting into and I think the minors should be able to enjoy there youth years and I do strongly fell like that the Korean government should stop companies debuting minor until they are at the right age cuss if 5th gen will be just minors debuting then I will no longer supporting the Kpop industry

Why are you acting like debuting minors is a new thing? It's been happening from the beginning. I'm not condoning it but you're acting like it's a new direction that the industry is going in... which it's not.
