I'm so glad you spent an episode on kids. We, as old heads, need to hold them up and give them their praise. If we want this to be everlasting, then we need kids to be inspired. There is no blading if there is no youth.
Exactly this kids are incredible, some are already better than those on teams. They are the future and deserve all the attention they can get. Some of the best skating I’ve seen this year 🙌🏻. I think there might be a goat in there
Whenever I roller blade in the city little kids are always staring. You have no idea how much of an influence it is for kids to see people roller blading stylishly.
Oh man, I wish we had someone like Kevin Lee when we were flopping around the skatepark as kids. No internet, pretty much no magazines or videos to learn from. Just a bunch of kids trying to figure out how to do tricks we didn't even know the names of. This video was truly heartwarming, thank you, Tom.

Tom, thank you so much for the hard work you do on your channel here on YT. Editions and themes that make us reflect and understand the current roller skating scene. I'm glad inline skating continues to attract young skaters. This sport is beautiful! I'm part of an old generation (90s) here in the interior of Brazil. At the time when buying imported skates was very expensive and very difficult, or at the time when to learn new tricks we had to be able to copy a VHS tape from a colleague who sent it abroad and brought something new. Today we have social networks that show in real time and importing is made easier through cell phone applications. Finally, for inline skating to return to its former glory days, it has to become an OLYMPIC SPORT. Just look at the leap in popularity that Skateboarding has made since it became part of the last edition of the Olympics 04 years ago (Including one of the revelations of that year, skateboarder Rayssa da Silva, is from my city Imperatriz-Maranhão-Brazil and trained at rink where I and many skaters train). Imagine millions of people around the world showing off inline skates and their tricks (which in my opinion are more beautiful to see than Skateboarding) through an Olympics broadcast? The question is: What should we do to make inline skating an Olympic sport? A hug from Brasil.
Great episode Tom! So many talented future stars. Shiono, Ana Julia and Charlie particularly stand out for me. The future is bright. Also found the statistics really interesting.
Amazing video. I’m from the south west of France and one of the biggest issues there would be the lack of skate shops selling gear to all these kids. They seem to be scared to go on and swap their scooters stock to agressive rollerblade, but the offer is also still very poor in small sizes. I’d buy skates online for my child because i’m a skater myself but most parents wouldn’t. There needs to be more brands releasing cool looking children agressive skates otherwise it won’t grow as efficiently as it should.
Such a great video. Thanks for sharing all the clios of those unbelievable young skaters around the globe. Making me so enthousiast for the future of rollerblading. Thanks Tom, and thanks to all the young guns!
@@TomMoyse a future GOAT? It's too early to say, but some are already in my top list and they just started, but they have a long way to reach Alex Broskow (who is the one and only goat imo, longevity, impact, control, attitude, style, the mam has everything, even the slams)
The youth scene has really seen an resurgence as of late, and some of these kids are legit incredible. In fact - the other say I saw a 3 year old boy child do a pudslide up a 50 stair drop rail! The evolution of any artform/sport is exponential - and it's amazing to watch it happen in real time.
This episode was amazing, thank you so much for putting all of your effort and time into this. Love seeing the future of rollerblading. One of my cherished memories was skating down steep hills and jumping down stair cases in Sardenia, Italy at the age of 11. Rollerblading was my primary means in getting around, and it each moment with them was a new adventure. I love putting them on now in my 40s getting that same feeling.
The progression is amazing! You're spot on, it's the ease and style in how the youngens do tricks. Amazing to see. Tom thanks again for your content 🙏🏽
very nice Video. Thanks for bringing it up. We as the first guys of agressive skating in the 90s, like to see the community is growing again. Everything is connected to each other in life, also the Skating community. We need those videos of people like you to see younger kids still do skate, so older like me (43) can start again, What i actaully did. So if we can react on kids , they can react on us also again. So it can be a never ending influence. Thanks a lot !
I recall.. just.. skating in the 90's and trying to imagine if I would one day be unable to hit a 1 foot ledge. I concluded that day would never come. I was wrong. Sadness. The blading scene looks so healthy to me atm n I freakin love it. Great channel too man. Edit: When I saw where soul plates were at I was left thinking, wtf have they done to skates? Each to their own I guess. Hitting a kinked rail in Majestics etc, you, knew yr life was on the line. While I dont love modern soulplate's, Im glad the risk and pain has been greatly reduced because God dam those high impact landings etc destroy yr joints fast. Keep rolling
Im so happy to see aggro skating still alive n well, n its awesome seeing japan crush it so hard. Theyve completely taken over skateboarding and now aggro as well, n those girls were kicking ass.
