  • In this video you will learn how to use the SPH Freeze Outside Region Module. Rocky Modules are additional features for both DEM and SPH simulations that have been developed to extend Ansys Rocky capabilities. With the SPH Freeze Outside Region Module you can save calculation resources and drastically speed up processing as a result by freezing the SPH elements that are outside from all the Regions of interest and then disabling them from contact calculation.
We walk you through the entire process, from downloading and installing the module via the Ansys Customer Portal to activating it in Rocky. Additionally, we provide a step-by-step guide on how to create a region of interest and enable the module within your project. By the end of this tutorial, you will see a practical comparison that demonstrates how applying the module can double the speed of your simulations.
