  • In February 1941, a group of Americans arrived at Bletchley Park, in what marked the beginnings of an extraordinary UK-USA intelligence alliance that continues to this day.
To commemorate the 80th anniversary of this alliance, we've produced an exciting four-part documentary series exploring how this alliance began, and what led to it's remarkable success, with insights from historians and experts on both sides of the Atlantic.
Episode four follows Bletchley Park Research Historian, Dr David Kenyon and David Hatch, Senior Historian at the National Security Agency (NSA), as they explore the UK and USA’s special relationship in the run up to Victory in Europe Day (VE Day), Victory over Japan Day (VJ Day) and beyond. Kenyon and Hatch also delve into the decision to continue this special relationship post-war and what this alliance has meant for both countries up to the present day. Bletchley Park's Exhibitions Manager, Erica Munro will explore items from the Bletchley Park collection, revealing some of the personal stories of the Bletchley Park Codebreakers.

I was riveted from start to finish, a brilliant production made so interesting by the two Historical Experts who tactfully and honestly reported the feelings at that time from each side of the pond.

I believe it was Bernard Montgomery, his middle name was something ironic like Cop or Law and I think he was a Field Marshall? I'm not google but I will go google and look just to be sure
