I came up with a way to reduce noise on Aspen Mini White Condensate Removal Pump (83939). I saw many online posts by people who were suffering from this pump's loud noise, so I am sharing my fix in hopes that it will make their lives easier. You can view/download my detailed instruction in PDF from the link below.

Update: Some people asked what material I used. I don't remember where I bought it, but it looks similar to this one. www.homedepot.com/p/Husky-18-...
Many thanks mate !! Luckily searching for tutorials to instal it i found yours to reduce the bloody noise ! So i followed this step even before to install it 👍🏼 the result is amazing.
Thanks mate
I found the instructions. Thanks so much for posting this. It also validates that the two-stage noise my pump is making is excessive.
Looks a lot like exercise matt material, will have to give it a go.
Have only just had mine installed and havent heard the pump operate as yet but it sounds bloody annoying !
How often does it operate ?
Reduced it for about 3dbs for me. I didn't cut it as neatly though and it took nearly 2 hours.
I just bought one and the wire colors are different. I have a blue (N) brown (L) and two black wires. Can you provide some assistance.
Brand new installation and that is the sound I'm getting. Would like to try this and see if this helps with the sound. Anyone have any luck with this apart from what the video shows?
would also like to know what type and thickness foam you used for the condesate pump. I tried draft protection foam and that did nothing. Thanks for your video. It was helpful. Your input on material will save me a bunch of trial and error as it worked so well. Thanks
I actually don't remember where I got it from, but I think it's meant to be a drawer liner. The one I bought looks almost identical to this one if that helps. www.homedepot.com/p/Husky-18-in-x-100-in-Black-Premium-Solid-Drawer-Liner-DTC130001/306136147?MERCH=REC-_-pipsem-_-202499894-_-306136147-_-N&
Thank you! Mine woke me up at 3 AM today (which surprised me because i turned it off at like 8 PM) and scared the hell out of all of us. How much noise reduction does this provide? Do you still have this pump? Part of me wants to break down and get something quieter.
You are welcome. I still have the same pump. It's been 2 years without any issues. I can understand why you'd want to replace it. I personally didn't want to pay for a new pump and go through replacing, which is why I came up with this noise insulation idea. It's been worth it for me.
I replaced mine with the Fujiwara pump. I got it from amazon. The one that comes with a separate float chamber and pump and I selected the lowest power version. It is practically silent even when not enclosed.
Hi, can you pls advise what to do to get my pump qui et ? Thanks

Great idea, it works for me. Btw, how much you pay for this nuts pump? my contractor charge me 900 bucks for doing this shit work
Maybe I’m missing something but I can’t tell what you actually did to make your pump quieter.. my pump makes a noise that is in 2 stages a hum followed by a loud buzz. It wakes me up

I am having the same problem as you, I'd like to understand that the root cause of the noise a bit better. Based on what you are trying to do, it seems yours is coming from the vibration of the unit, because all you've done here is trying to pad the gap and reduce the potential movement, but is it possible that something inside is clogged or something like that?
mine does the same thing and it's new. installed yesterday. The fix he came up with is a great idea, and I am going to show to HVAC company so they can modify them accordingly. Additionally I wonder if it was help more if it was also insulated on the back where it is mounted. If this doesn't do to my satisfaction, I will remove it and run the hose around the wall to the outside. it's brick so I hope it will blend in
@@bbrown3996 I thought the same but the 3 small pads on screws behind are absorbing any vibration, at least something done properly from the manufacture
Hi Tony,
What kind of foam did you use and where did you get it?
Sorry for the late reply. I didn't notice this until now. I actually don't remember where I got it from, but I think it's meant to be a drawer liner. HOW?
A link to my instruction is in the description.
Those pumps are maybe suitable for use in a foundry or stamping plant NOT a bedroom. The product is absolutely crap.
These are awful.
Useless idea, doesn't make any difference.
