Chuck, I think this segment is one of the most enlightening pieces of information the public desperately needs to hear and understand. I have been saying for at least 50 years, our government is too big to control, then throw in on top of that the ignorance, greed , corruption and everything else that goes to Washington every year to run it, and it’s a constant fiasco to be dealt with. The pay grade is way, way, way above the intelligence that goes to Washington to run things!!!

Oh yes they do! I know many! My daughter is a single mother working 2 jobs & cannot get any food assistance because she makes too much $$ but still doesn’t make $20 per hour. Well below poverty level.

When I was working as a para for a school district. I only got payed when I worked. So holiday summers no pay. I applied doe food stamps. I too was in poverty level. The lady at social services did not even look at my application. Took one look since I was white. I did not get any assistance. Praise the Lord I found cleaning jobs that helped.

It didn't have anything to do with you being white. What a strange thing to say. They have messed up rules sometimes. You have to be working or volunteering for at least 20 hours a week. At least, that was the rules in my state several years ago.

I got a whopping total of $26 back federal this year. I was going to use that to fix my car because my ball joints are both bad. I lost my job after telling the bosses that I was scared to come to the office because of the two Lebanese Muslim brothers that work there, one of which spent two months in Lebanon right before the October attacks. Being a Jew, (and they knew it) I felt I had a right to be scared. Im poor, people, I was just like to get a little help myself. I don’t care if they help other people but help us first. Don’t take my tax money and give it to another country when Im sitting here about to lose my apartment because I can’t pay my rent. Do we matter at all?
I hope you find another job sorry to hear about you getting laid off. I was also told in one of my other jobs I might get laid off luckily I been getting job interviews and I have a second job in this economy it’s better to have a part time 2nd job for security you can always report to HR about your situation that’s sounds like they discriminated you for being Jewish.

It's good to want to help others. America has a deficit in the TRILLIONS and we have people veterans included on the streets with no where to go for employment or shelter. The difference in us and the people who live in Israel, Taiwan, and Ukraine is, we were fortunate enough to be blessed and born in the US. It our obligation to help those who are weak and can't defend themselves enough to fight against bullies. It's a love for others called charity. Charity is a love that gives.
