@@erso_returned2530 Same. Zombies are half decomposed. Humans offer more resistance. Their bones crunch better, and their heart still pumps so the blood gushes nicely when you open them up. They also still have working pain receptors, meaning the screams are a nice addition to your work on them.
Thanks for posting such a good video. You covered so much content & what makes this game so awesome. And, y'know, I must ask, who the hell doesn't wanna kick ass like this after watching this video.😮
Game definitely looks good, my only complaint is the weapons' lack of weight, it doesn't have the right feeling, and the animations could use some more polishing, could also use some new ones, it's pretty bare bones as it is currently, other than that it looks suprisingly good, did not expect this game to be anything other than a flop considering we've waited so many years for it and the development hell it went through
I wonder if this game is more linear than the first one? In D1 you could walk around different yards and explore houses after houses. Can you do it here?

This was a great showcase. I like the added environmental kills, and how they prop up cans of acid, water, & also fuel, all great sources of fun, havoc & chaos. This is a really good addition to the zombie game market, IMO, that used to be so saturated but luckily there wasn't a large release in this market for a while, and I am truly enjoying this game a lot. Something that's also cool is that you can get hurt by falling glass (say you break a window & walk right thru it you'll get hurt by the free & falling glass), although it's kinda janky, probably something they'll flesh out later. It's an O.K. system for right now, but sometimes the damage you take is unfair or too brutal for a glass cut. Definitely something they gotta figure out, eventually. Anyways, they took their time & it's forsurely not a rushed project which I really respect. w/ it being in development hell for so long and was under speculation whether this title would ever get released, then it finally did out of nowhere & in my opinion is can absolute great release & great departure from its predecessors. Was about to grab it .. watched this video . Second guessing my self for 98$ CAD on ps5 .. looks far to repetitive with the combat and circuit breakers … idk man .. can anyone change my mind ? Are there hundreds of blueprints or just like 20-40? Are blueprint solely collected by quests or can you find numerous ? Did anyone get bored after shortly playing a few hours ? Genuinely curious ..?!
I'll share my experience: I pre ordered the Gold Edition (100 bucks) for the PS5. I'm about eight hours in, halfway through the story, but less than 10% through the side activities. It's absolutely fantastic. One of the few game purchases I'm actually happy with lately (looking at you, God of War Ragnarok). The game is slightly repetitive without question. The combat was kept simple. The versatility comes more from weapon and skill variety, but this isn't like DL2 where you've got sixty different ways of killing something. That said, the combat is extremely enjoyable to the point where the repetition, at least for me so far, hasn't made it boring in the slightest. I find it difficult to turn it off at night. It's one of those games. As for the blueprints, you can find them, but most are from side quests and some main quests, similar to the original two games. That's in fact a strength of this game. It'll feel very familiar to DI1 and Riptide. Overall, I think it's 100% worth your money. It's not a very long game, but since scrounging for supplies to make better blueprint upgrades with is heavily rewarded, you can basically just go exploring the many houses and points of interest of each district and get plenty of fun along the way. It's like making your own mini quests essentially. And especially after a few unique infected types have entered the overworld, you'll often come across these, and they'll drop cool weapons that you can then use those materials you've gathered to upgrade. The game is simple, but it doesn't try to be more. Simplicity is actually a breath of fresh air for me. It has a repetitive game cycle, but it works and is never boring. I highly recommend it. Oh, and the performance on the PS5 is flawless, and I played it less than a minute after release. Not a single glitch or bug except for one quest not progressing as it should, which was fixed when I literally just left the area, then walked back. Took ten seconds to do, then it worked. I'm guessing the enemy I was supposed to bait out got stuck somewhere. But again, the simplicity of the game works to its favor. It doesn't complicate things, so it doesn't break.
I do really like the ability to swap between dodging & blocking @ any given time. As of now, it only makes sense to blocks since my Other abilities compliment blocking by awarding a successful parry with way better Perks than what dodging gets me. I JUST unlocked a perk that that adds an explosive kick to my drop-kicks that floors all zombies. Gotta beat them down til you can stomp on their head, maiming them & offering a quick kill.
Does it worth the price tag? It looks very fun, but also looks like its quite linear and lacks endgame content. Is there replayability to match the price?
I meant as in "overall" games. Because this is actually the third released mainline game in the series. Riptide was a actually a stand-alone expansion to the first game. However overall, like if your counting spin-offs, this game is the sixth in the series
I just want to know who else would agree that "DEAD ISLAND 2" and "FARCRY 6" looks very similar comparing game graphics, besides the gore, they look almost identical To me it looks like Dead Island 2 has a few traits that look like they were adopted/better than FarCry 6- such as melee/combat and its leveling system-but I feel like if they both were combined it would be a great opportunity to have a freeroam zombie game with the size/scale of the FarCry 6 map and the skill/options to freeroam/Co-op with friends in a big area. Again its just my opinion, not a fact but I feel like if both games were combined it would be a friggin good time.
Everyone is talking about how brutal and amazing the gore and combat is, but didn’t give dying light 2 any credit. Dying light 2 literally feels like you’re actually swinging a machete and cutting through flesh, and the sounds of the limbs slicing off sounded great as well. The gore I can see how people praise this game a bit better because it’s much more present afterwards in combat, and you can slice up limbs a bit more. But dying light 2 added this to a recent update. I really love this competition between these zombie games however, both do different things incredibly well. Dying light will always be my go to though, the feel of combat and exploration is much more rewarding.
Ya man sadly it will take a while for everything we want to be put into one game it gets so annoying having the amazing gore but no open world no scary story I wanna feel terrified and ig dying light kinda did that cuz the running zombies will keep chasing u but I totally get u in real life or in movies once a zombie sees u all of them do I wish I could just make a game but we tend to forgot how much gets put into it and who's hands it's even in sucks😢
FLESH feature should be a new standard gore/dismemberment system for most modern FPS games. I'm interested to see more games expand this system more than pushing photorealism graphics.
Genres like action/war (Call of Duty, Battlefield, Far Cry, etc), fantasy/medieval (Elder Scrolls, Witcher, etc), Futuristic (Cyberpunk, etc), and post apocalyptic game can really benefit from this!
@@joeman8173 I think a lot of those games listed would seem out of place with this much gore. It works well in horror or ultraviolent stuff. Doom, The Last of Us, Zombie games in general. I think in Call of Duty or Far Cry though it would be a bit horrifying. Zombie games get away with the gore because the zombies are “undead.” But something is tonally different about blasting some soldier’s guts out vs a zombie. People scream and suffer, zombies just fall over seemingly without pain. Makes it seem somewhat victimless.
I’ve seen no one complain about the missing feature of analog combat, its what made the first game different from the rest of the zombie games, if you feel like mashing the R2 button for hours on end this games for you
i feel like they put it all into that dismemberment gore system or whatever they call it, because besides that, game looks silly and these dead guys so realistic - i mean theyre stupid af but anyway im glad DI2 is finally released. thanks for the video
Just sucks cuz they frr woulda hit the lottery if they made this into a opem world serious story type game shoulda added some parkour atleast anyone can climb
In your opinion, which title would you rather play-- this or Dying Light 2? Or, even between this & the first Dying Light if that's the game you prefer? I'm just Curious because the Pace, gameplay, & formula in 1 & 2 is similar enough to pick either one. Although, when comparing DLI & DL2, they have screaming differences of course. Anyways, always curious in a fellow gamer's Opinion.
@bushwickbundy6569 that's a really hard one lol I was really into dying light 1 with my brother and just was overall just immersed in the world but when I beat it I it's like any other game u want more to do really makes me mad cuz they could easily add mote maps for 1 I've been playing 2 recently and it's definitely pretty fun with the gore flesh mod they added gets kinda stale after a lil but having a huge map just to run around in is pretty fun wich I wish they did in 1 especially the country side they shoulda made it huge asf
I love that they took their time and clearly kept focus when making this. I've heard so many people saying I'd need some Co-Op help by now, but it sure hasn't been true yet, just gotta side-quest & explore & fight to get strong & buy a lot of fuses & do a lot of weapon modding. Also good to stock upon & sell lots of weapons to buy those fuses & weapons. Anyways, watch me need some help right after saying this jinx...
I’ve played this game for about 10 hours, my 3 main problems with the game is… -the physics, it could be a lot better -zombies are way too SPONGY Jesus Christ, it shouldn’t be like this at all. -the story is so bland, and short with boring characters, alot of them try way to hard with the humor I’ve haven’t laughed once.
@@zueicidesin2573 Nah, Carla legit has me giggling sometimes. She's not too tryhard at all. She's usually more subtle/reinforcing with her humor. Plus, there's scenes like the one in the Sewers with Patton that genuinely touched my heart a little bit. He was an army pilot who suffered a brutal accident that left his face badly burned. Society started shunning him because of his looks, so he began making a home in the sewers years before the apocalypse even began and was right at home in it. But despite his joyful demeanor and him saving you without so much as requiring thanks, he's clearly also very lonely and tries to press you into watching a movie with him. And I REALLY liked how at least Carla didn't judge him for that, instead empathizing with him and remaining friendly. There's a lot more than dumb MCU tier jokes in there. More nuance. A lot of the jokes are a coping method from the characters. The most important thing is that unlike the MCU or its copycats, they know when to leave the jokes at the door. 70-80% of the game is humor, yes, but the 20-30% that isn't, ISN'T. They don't try to inject it when they shouldn't, such as in the Patton scene, which goes from jokey to sad and depressing without them trying to lighten that mood with another dumb joke.
I don’t get why people keep comparing this to DL2, yes it’s the same type but it doesn’t take the same approach, di2 is more of an arcade game that has fun with zombies, DL2 is an arcade game that shows zombies as the end of the world and tries to make it tragic. Ofc it won’t be as good as a game that has been out for a few years and doesn’t take the same approach, give it time, I’m sure they’ll fix the small issues everyone keeps whining about, it’s your fault for expecting much out of a game anymore
Probably not gonna cop this one, the combat just seemed so much better in the trailers and honestly this feels underwhelming, it looks like the original dead island
Aside from the gore, this looks absolutely generic at best. Should have left it cancelled because this just looks like a dead island 1 with better graphics and different map. Same bullshit repetitive gameplay loop. Why didn't they just make a Dead Island: Remake would have taken less time to develop too. Is it bad though? naaah.. Its just's dissapointing after so many years of waiting. but then you can just play dying light 2 and have the same exact same experience with the new combat & brutality update but without being restricted to barebones mechanics, and the same boring gameplay loop which is: Find weapons --> kill zombies --> break weapons --> find weapons --> you grow bored of it --> regret buying the game for full price --> probably forget it even exists after a while. is it worth a buy? Absolutely for 50% off. its a fun time for a while just like the first one, doom 2016, doom eternal, all the mindless killing games.
Bro all video games are like that its nothing new, hell DEATHLOOP a game that came out last year literally poke fun of what you just mentioned of games feeling repetitive, by being a rogue like shooter mix in with call of duty/ borderlands style of gameplay while trying not to die and loose all of your progression like dark souls.
I disagree. It weren't developed for the full wait it was passed down to multiple developers. Developers even had to start from scratch in this case because the studio before made it nothing like it's predecessor. It's been in development for roughly 2 to 3 years. Still a lot to work on, and also I don't understand how you can compare DL2 to DI2. Personally I don't like the idea of jumping 100 feet to land on a vehicle or trashbags to survive. It relys on the movement system where as DI2 you are in terms of somewhat more realistic expectations from a normal person. I don't see normal people dropping down 60 feet and surviving because they landed on a police van 😂
I had that too, but against my better judgement I pre ordered the Gold Edition. Decided to take a chance. It's fucking awesome. Haven't been this happy with a game since Elden Ring.

To me it looks like Dead Island 2 has a few traits that look like they were adopted/better than FarCry 6- such as melee/combat and its leveling system-but I feel like if they both were combined it would be a great opportunity to have a freeroam zombie game with the size/scale of the FarCry 6 map and the skill/options to freeroam/Co-op with friends in a big area.
The game just needs some impact feedback or something like in dying light 2. Besides that tho combat is 🔥
agreed, DL2 combat after latest gut patch feels real good and impactful
So how much would you rate the game?
8/10
9/10.
does this have the anolog stick combat?
What's your fov at? Looks good unlike 99% of everyone else's footage
Ciao Fra il tuo video mi piace tantissimo e non vedo l'ora di vedere in un prossimo video Ciao a presto
It would be nice if this game had hordes chase and this game look amazing but it feels like the zombies are not attacking just jump scares
It's a proprietary tech, so I doubt that will happen unfortunately.
I hope I am proven wrong
they need to up the impact of these weapons when they do damage, cus it just seems light
Would be better if the back buttons controlled each hand /weapon and each leg for kicks
We get it you like drop kicking Zombies 👊
Just sucks cuz they frr woulda hit the lottery if they made this into a opem world serious story type game shoulda added some parkour atleast anyone can climb
In your opinion, which title would you rather play-- this or Dying Light 2? Or, even between this & the first Dying Light if that's the game you prefer? I'm just Curious because the Pace, gameplay, & formula in 1 & 2 is similar enough to pick either one. Although, when comparing DLI & DL2, they have screaming differences of course. Anyways, always curious in a fellow gamer's Opinion.
@bushwickbundy6569 that's a really hard one lol I was really into dying light 1 with my brother and just was overall just immersed in the world but when I beat it I it's like any other game u want more to do really makes me mad cuz they could easily add mote maps for 1 I've been playing 2 recently and it's definitely pretty fun with the gore flesh mod they added gets kinda stale after a lil but having a huge map just to run around in is pretty fun wich I wish they did in 1 especially the country side they shoulda made it huge asf
this game looks very good i hope techland makes this game good from the start!
Tech land developed dying light and the first dead island, but they’re not making the second one.
Litteraly game looks like shit
@@krustytheclown2627 ohh wow i didnt know thanks for telling
No rifles and guns?
How does this game compare to Dying Light 2 gameplay wise
the atmosphere on top of the gore is just so phenomenal, definitely my game of the year
I love that they took their time and clearly kept focus when making this.

The body physics are bad in this game, maybe they will fix them with updates
They need to do something with those slow ahh fighting animations

Swifty is the game well optimized?
I'll never get when I was playing and I hit a zombie so hard his eyes popped out...
I want this but idk if I wanna drop $60 on a zombie killer :/
it's worth it
Where you from that it’s 60$
98$ on ps5 store Canada .!!! Wtffff
Ya because canada is ass when it comes to prices
It's not worth it unless you feel it is.
The gore looks awesome but other then that it looks mediocre as
Its a zombie beater game. What did u expect lol
I’ve played this game for about 10 hours, my 3 main problems with the game is…
-the physics, it could be a lot better
-zombies are way too SPONGY Jesus Christ, it shouldn’t be like this at all.
-the story is so bland, and short with boring characters, alot of them try way to hard with the humor I’ve haven’t laughed once.
the physics are really REALLY good, only spongy zombies honestly are the slobbers, and the story is honestly just really fun lmao
Facts bro I've been playing as Bruno the humor is tryhard but not funny.
@@zueicidesin2573That's because Bruno is as cringe as he looks. Carla and Ryan are pretty funny.
@@TheStraightestWhitest they all are cringe Imo they made characters tryhard to be funny but they just aint.
They don't try to inject it when they shouldn't, such as in the Patton scene, which goes from jokey to sad and depressing without them trying to lighten that mood with another dumb joke.
i cant feel any heavy in combat
This is THE game
What's the big thing to play this game? 😅
This looks soooo much better than dying light 2 its crazy
🧢
Maybe the graphics but that’s it
Said no one ever.
Dying light 2 was awful so pretty easy to be better tbh. Only thing that was good about dying light 2 was the parkour.
I liked this one but then again better graphics
Killing zombies has never felt this good.
Exactly bro people keep picking on tiny things they can improve later on instead of just enjoying another good zombie killing game.
Gameplay looks like mindless fun. Deffo a pick up when it’s 50% off in a few months.
55 dollars on Xbox and PlayStation now if you didn’t know
I feel like the force of the hits doesn’t match the brutality of the gore system tbh
I can't see the difference between dead island 2 and dying light 2 besides u can fly and use that zip line stuff. Bad ass game play
One game has a flying kick, the other one doesn't.
So the game finally came out a decade later lmaoo
and it sucks lol
I mean comparing it to most of the horrible games we've had these past 2 to 3 years I disagree
@@breland7809 nah it’s fire. Your broke ass prolly hasn’t played it.
And it's awesome.
Hitting animations are wack and lacking music/sound effects. Other than that, good.
play the game, it's a lot better
Probably not gonna cop this one, the combat just seemed so much better in the trailers and honestly this feels underwhelming, it looks like the original dead island
I feel like the game would be 10x better if you turned off all HUD
@@mellochello921 the issue isn't the gameplay loop but i guess you missed the point of my comment.
Dying light 2= dead island 2
Both are mid, I don’t see how one is better than the other. Just preference if we aren’t being bias.
play it and your thoughts will change lol
I love this game
that dropkick animation is an insult compared to dying light's one
I still don't know if I will buy this game, for me is just....... I don't know how to describe it. I just don't know
I had that too, but against my better judgement I pre ordered the Gold Edition. Decided to take a chance.
It's fucking awesome. Haven't been this happy with a game since Elden Ring.
@@TheStraightestWhitest welp, that help me a little. Maybe I will buy it.
This gives me Dying Light vibe.
Im gonna be honest, the game looks interesting but so lame at the same time
Fax idk if I should get it or not
This needs to be possible in GTA 6 when you attack random pedestrians on the streets. And there needs to be kids on the streets too.

We can finally....EAT THE RICH!!!!! 🧟♀️🧠🤩
Idk about the other Slayers, but Carla does constantly mock the rich. It's kinda funny.
The physics in this game suck balls
Games not bad its ok.
I think dying light 2 is better but this is cool too
@@pikisrev yeah it's cool like a zombie action movie type of cool, but I personally prefer post apocalyptic gloom.

too many throws kinda amused to see it
the game like dying light
Dying light 1 still better than most games of this kind. Gore is better and zombie AI is better. This game kinda seems to have all features of dying light, but without the parkour, so for me it just seems like a downgrade.
A downgrade from what? It’s not a downgrade if it’s not part of the Dying Light name
downgrade? gore is better? AI IS BETTER?
DL1 has nothing on this game.
