This has always been around, but this exhaust plus labor probably costs more than 1000 dollars. Straight pipe with no muffler costs 150-300. If you’re broke in high school or college which would you be able to afford. Clearly this is a lot better sounding but it’s also out of the price point of anyone not at least working a full time job
The straight piping (and/or muffler deletes) isn’t the issue with VQs, Hondas or anything else. It’s the fact people don’t want to use a resonator to drown out the rasp, which is why you get cars that sound like a marching band full of trumpets. A good quality resonator and a good quality muffler go a long way
Correct, but I dont run a rear muffler on my honda the sound is just the right mix of volume and sound . Of course I dont do things normal and I know theres 2 cams on the civic so my exhaust is tuned for it , meaning the pipe out the back gets bigger as it exits, yet I keep it with in the average accepted sizes for a stock motor .
Just got an ultra quiet resonator welded in to my strait piped 350z. Took all rasp away and kept the volume of the single exit exhaust. It's the best sounding 350z I've ever heard.
Never let anyone tell you straight through anything sounds better than getting a chambered muffler that's mid mounted. Honda owners, stop doing big rear mounted mufflers and straight through anything, get a chambered mid mount muffler or resonator after the header and no muffler at the back . I HAVE DONE ALL OF THE SETUPS an thr one I have now is the best sounding . If you keep doing what the mainstream does you won't sound better .
I love Vibrant and their products. That was a masterpiece of an exhaust and it sounds nice without any rasp or drone. What some enthusiasts don’t realize is that the piping can make a difference in sound too. Most exhaust shops around my area do not carry quality SS piping . They have the aluminumized (not sure how you spell it) piping and man that type of exhaust pipe will produce so much rasp..lol Excellent video and fabricator!
Altima SR, Murano, Frontier, Pathfinder, and Xterra also had Vq variants. I think the Quest minivan had a V6 but I'm not sure if it was a VQ, VG or both depending on year/gen.

I think you get the Gist. Can't wait until we get started I just want the V8 to be heard without being obnoxious. I'll let him do his thing. 🙏⭐💯
@@ryanmvisuals Yeah, was thinking it definitely came through the exhaust. Probably occurs naturally with this motor and the exhaust just amplifies it 👍
Right. I didn't plan on doing any performance mods or to have the car too loud. Once you start messing with test pipes is when the rasp/sound levels really start to come out. But a resonated/catted aftermarket test pipe is a must.
Me and my wife got an ARK full exhaust system for our Q60 and it is way too quiet and for 3 grand it wasn’t really worth it we might get this system instead . And it sounds way better than the ARK.
Should I consider cutting the resonators off of my Stillen Cat-Back and install vibrant ultra Quiets at lower RPMs the Stillen resonators will rattle I got test pipes also (G37x sedan)
The rattle is likely something loose with mounting hardware, heat shield etc. On rare occasion it's a chunk of metal inside that that came from upstream piping. Stillen generally makes quality stuff.
@@daftpanda6533 I would agree but I bought this exhaust used off the marketplace a while ago and who ever owned it before was shooting flames from it so that's why I assumed the resonators were bad it also could be the test pipes I've heard
@@lyndoncobb7077 Oh. Yeah, stupid things like flame maps aren't really good for cars, or their cats. The occasional poof on throttle close is temporary rich condition. Mostly found on older cars with no cats, it was just an effect of the car running rich for a split second.
@@Mikegtcustom I think I might give it try I'm expecting some raspiness regardless since I don't have cats but I'm hoping the vibrants will clean up some of the rattle on accel/decel
There’s more drone than the factory system due to the increase of tube diameter and the smaller “straight through” bottle resonators. but it’s significantly reduced due to the ultraquiet resonators.
@@ryanmvisuals yes, BMW pur down millions on testing and development in the windtunnel to get a good airflow under and over the car and to keep the balance at speed and not create lift forces. That’s why the silencer looks like it does. Now there is a big hole that creates a lot of turbulence and drag (lift).
@@JohnnyLehti much of that aero is done to get better MPG's. You really think is gonna make a difference while you drive to fast around the wallmart parking lot?
I have a 2.4L i4 accord. How do you get a performance exhaust without getting a buzzing fart can noise. Preferably unnoticeable as an aftermarket exhaust. Money is no object. The inevitable "sell it and get a hellcat" is not an answer.
I always recomend an Aero turbine/ Jones turbine muffler. I have ran them on a 2.2l 4cyl and a Turbo 2.0l 4 cyl and they sounded deep with no rasp. My buddy had one on his 02 ep3 and it sounded deep with virtually no rasp. They are loud without a resonator though as they are straight flow through with no packing unless you get the xl models that are longer and have a resonator section built in with ceramic wool that wont burn out.
This would have been really useful 20 years ago

If only bro could fab up a time machine
Every one who's tried straight piping or single muffler knows it's too loud in cabin
It definitely has not changed in 20years. This is very basic stuff

This is an amazing educational video and damn that exhaust sounds amazing.
Yesss i want mines to sound like that for my Acura, where's your shop at?
I have the best cheap bolt on exhaust setup for the g35, no rasp, high pitched. I have a short on my channel with some revs.
How much would it be to get you to build me one haha 🤣 I've always liked Vibrant Performance but I went a different route and regretted it.
Sounds good. There's a funny pop coming through during the sound clips at the end, in between gears and coming off throttle. Any idea what that is?
When I let off the throttle there's some backfire, the other pops may be from the road/suspension.
@@ryanmvisuals Yeah, was thinking it definitely came through the exhaust. Probably occurs naturally with this motor and the exhaust just amplifies it 👍

I waited long enough for the r&d to finally start growing fruit
X pipe cleans up the pitch and get rid of the nasty decel. It will give you rasp but that depends on the muffler
properly designed x pipes do not introduce much turbulence and turbulent merges create rasp
Do you guys make downpipes?
The headers on a q50 are much more forgiving with tone than that of a g37. Please keep this in mind, y’all.

Didn’t think much about aerodynamics as it’s just a daily driver. I’d assume it’s more aerodynamic than stock with the massive muffler in the rear.
