FABER-CASTELL is always best goods & colour pigment is also good & eco friendly. Also good for Fashion designers & Architecture student. Also rate is very less compare to Staedtler.

Maine kabhi v Luna use nhi kiya tha, but fashion fild mei ane ke Clg recomend Luna and I use it, nd it's amazing 👍. And fashion fild mei Luna hi use kiya jata hai

I've used both staedtler and faber castell. My dad bought me staedtler luna color pencils around late 90s when I was in my 5th grade for my drawing exam which was a luxury for my friends then..Recently, thrilled to take it out of the loft and mark my words, it colors very fine even now, though I havent touched it for 23 years, whereas faber castell bicolor pencils which I bought and used during my college years failed to color after 10 years of non-usage...And during my childhood days I used staedtler for regular coloring, I didnt know they were actually watercolor pencils, which I found out only recently😅. I am not an artist, however I see stationery supplies as an investment - I dont want to replace them often..when you wish for something to last you as long as you want to, its wise to make a good choice..Hence whether its for regular or watercoloring, I prefer staedtler over faber castell, due to its life and reliability. For me, Staedtler luna is not a brand, its an emotion❤.

Most brands at the lower end of the price scale, have a wax core that gets scratchy with time making them useless. Water soluble pigment core in watercolor pencils may be the reason for durability.

Staedtler much better than faber castle kyun 5 yers ho gaye dono ko buy karke but aj faber castle ke lagvag sare pencil ur nahi work kar rahe hai jese sukh sa gaye hai. But staedtler aj bhi nayi jesa hi hai... ❤

It’s not a fair comparison because Faber Castell is a normal colour pencil and Stadetler is a watercolour pencil. The Staedtler Luna Watercolour pencil is actually pretty good budget pencils that are highly pigmented when activated with water. The equivalent Staedtler Luna colour pencil set does not have stripes and the pencil body is a full solid colour.

They have different binding material in the lead. Non-soluble coloured pencil used wax or oil. For watercolour pencil they used gum arabic. Watercolour pencils can be diluted with water so you'll get watercolour effect. You can't do this with wax or oil based colour pencil. There are a few ways to use watercolour pencil.
1) You coloured dry then take a wet brush and brushed on top of the colour. It will dilute into watercolour. You can layer the colours after it dried.
2) Coloured dry thickly on thick paper then runs the wet brush on the colour. The brush is now loaded with colour you can start painting.
3) Dip the colour nib into some water and write or colour with the wet nib.
4) Cut a small piece of the lead, put it in a palette, put some water in it, move it around, now you have watercolour paint similar to artist pan watercolour.
5) Flick wet brush over the lead so it'll splatter with dots on your paper.
6) Wet the paper and write or colour with dry pencil.
