Phew 😮‍💨 this makes me feel so much better! It seems like every other homeschooler does so many different activities and are constantly going. We haven’t done much in the aspect of extracurricular activities and I feel bad about it, but we do what we can, when we can. 🤷🏻‍♀️

I’m so glad you found some encouragement! Some people thrive in a full, busy schedule and that’s great! But for us, slow days are better. No rushing, taking our time. My oldest daughter is very social and looks forward to Girl Scouts (her first one is this week and she is pumped) I’m glad I can give her that one thing each week to look forward to. But teaching her to
Appreciate the slow is important too.

@@theselittlesprouts totally agree! I don’t love being on the go all the time but it’s so normalized now

Thank you for this video! I am always seeing all the things and wanting to add them into our homeschool at once. This past week I realized we are doing too much, and seeing this video helped make me more confident in my decision.

I needed this video. I was trying soooo hard to be perfect with homeschooling our 2 and 3yr old. Once I realized the importance of keeping it simple at this age our days are much less stressful and more fulfilling.
Love the practicality of your message ❤️.

No one is perfect. Homeschooling is a humbling experience and a beautiful journey. It’s never perfect, take it one day at a time and breathe. Im so happy this video helped you. Thank you for watching.

Just what I needed to hear. I'm on my HS journey to simplify. This is my third year, and I'm so over all of the extras.

Your very description of a hypothetical person who's doing karate and music and dance lessons and all that stuff....just reminds me of how much I do NOT like a very full schedule. I'm totally fine doing lots of schoolwork, lots of reading in a day at home...but, and it's probably the introvert in me, the idea of scheduling a bunch of outside classes does not sound fun. "I have never bought counting bears in my entire life" hahaha!

For sure! I like to keep our lessons simple, and short so that my kids can have the time to explore on their own after the “required” things are finished. Follow their interests, read and learn what they want to. Create and play together. I’m an introvert as well and I love being home. My daughter however, is an extrovert, so I’m having to learn to compromise some to meet her needs as well. Sometimes our kids have different needs or wants than we do in that department. Especially now that she is older. However, I will never be a busy schedule mom and I won’t allow her to overload herself, there is importance in the slow times too, and it’s important to teach them that as well :) finding that balance that fits your unique family is important.

I so appreciate this! We've had a rough start to our school year and I realized that I was trying to force my children into a curriculum and structure that just wasn't working for them. My kids are still very young (6, 4, and 2), and I've had to adjust my expectations and embrace the learning through play ideology more than book work. It's been a big mindset shift for me, but I'm hopeful that it will bring more peace and excitement for learning to our home.

Yes! Take it one day at a time and breathe! Learning happens other times than just with curriculum and play is so important too. Sometimes if my kids are playing together in the morning, I will push school back because I do not want to interrupt their imaginations. :) I’m glad you found some encouragement from this video, that is always what I aim for!

Yes! Amen! I wish I could give this more likes.
Love this! Comparison has been my problem.
I love simple. My kids do better with simple.
    Thanks for putting this out.

Every homeschool is different in how they like to do things, however I think there is great benefit to simplifying things. I’m glad you enjoyed it! Thanks for watching!
