Hello. Your videos are very good, thank you for making this content available. I live in Brazil, it's not easy to find the RT-20 here (sometimes very expensive). Do you have any suggestions for replacing it? Thanks.
Thank you Paulo! I know RT-20 is a hard find. I will do another ULTIMATE pedalboard, updated with better sounds, better explanation, better production in a few weeks. I've been planning it for months now, trying different pedals, trying alternative pedals etc. It'll be the best video ever. About your question, you can use Dawner Prince PULSE, which is a bit different than rt-20, but they still sound very close.
I will update this video in a few weeks, with better sounds, better explanation. Tube driver is very noisy and powering is different. It doesn’t sound as good as it should in low wattage setups like mine
I will update this video with better editing, better tones, overall, better everything, but remember, every setting differs from amp to amp, room to room, pickup to pickup. That's why I always give alternatives and amp settings and even EQ settings at my Patreon for tone guides.
Great job with this. I love the Mooer E-Lady ( Possibly the best bang-for-the-money ) Pedal ever made. Great for Police, Rush & Floyd. oNe LoVe from NYC
It’s wonderful, especially for the price. The best bang for my Buck pedal, that I’ve come across in years, is the Doublemoon from Mad Professor. It’s an analog multi effect. It does everything from Boss Ce-1 or 2 tones, almost the Dimension Chorus, then it also has legit Flanger capability, with ability to get that Electric Mistress brightness, most look for, as well as work to get a really nice rotary sound and a Vibrato, like a Boss VB-2 with ability to change the wave shape. The flanger is what really surprised me, with the Chorus sounding pretty close to the one I wanted, but I’ve had fun using every setting. Check it out. It’s a legit analog pedal with great sound. It also has Flange/Chorus combos that are great.
@@CorbCorbin my best bang for the buck, a Joyo Aquarius Delay. Solid Digital, Analog, Tape, or Tube delays. Some mod delays. What a great informative video. Wonderful tones and playing. I wonder for a future video could you give some insight into Davids 2016 "Live at Pompeii" tones? I think his guitar tone in that concert is up with his best ever!!
I think I basically accidented onto a similar setup. I really like multi-taskers, so I ended up with a Phase 95, which has the 90 script setting built in, the Boss Angry Driver, which is a Blues Driver combined with a JHS Angry Charlie. I have a Zoom MS70 which has a bunch of delay options, including a tape delay, as well as a ton of reverbs (I use the spring reverb for Gilmour stuff) and a Keeley Moon fuzz, which isn't too far from the Green Russian. The one thing I am missing is that RT-20. Maybe someday.
I would love to see your review of the new "Fender Tone Master Pro" guitar modeler. and what kind of Gilmour tones can you get out of her? please please!
One important drive that's not on any pedalboard: the drive to practice long enough to play well. Good technique through Boss pedals beat sloppiness played through boutique pedals.
Great work - I remember trying for a very long time trying to get some of these tones. But you missed out on a big one - the Echoes solo tone used on Live at Pompeii. That tone is just jaw-dropping. I wore out that section of the VHS tape at the time, going back and forth over that section.
Great job… quick question, would these tones change with a non-EMG equipped guitar? I know David used that live in the 80’s, but most of the recorded work prior was standard coil setups.

I'm really impressed! This is Bjorn Riis level getting it done! I'm so interested that the Charlie Brown is behaving post EHX Muff. This was so inspiring all around. Love it!

This is very cool, although lacks a little polish with the visuals on the pedals. I suggest you re-shoot any image(s) with the correct settings on the pedals to avoid the need to put up text saying the settings are wrong, correct the chorus vs flanger problem that your pinned comment mentions, and also add the names of the pedals as text on the video so people can read what pedals you're using, each time you show a visual of those pedals. It's a little fiddly work but worth the update and re-upload, I reckon, to provide longevity for this great video. Cheers.

Where can I put my Boss SD-1 Overdrive pedal? Can use it instead of Boss BD-2 or JHS Charlie Brown? And what do you think about MOOER BLUES MOOD as a replacement for Boss BD-2?
Boss sd-1 is very much different that any pedal you've listed. it doesn't mean you can't use it for gilmour tones, watch this video: ruclips.net/video/guKVdemNxnM/видео.html it's a high gain tube screamer type pedal. which means a lot of mid boost when you stomp on it. bd-2 is a transistor based pedal, very flat around the eq board and charlie brown is just jtm45 type transistor pedal. I have no experience with mooer's blues mood, but considering I use a few mooer pedal and they sound great, blues mood can do a nice job too.
What I like from your set up, besides the boss rt20, that you used affordable pedals. No crazy boutique or unoptanium pedals. Well done. I have a feeling I must change my boss compressor for an mxr. Very interesting video, congratulations !!!
Thank you for your efforts in guidance of how and what pedals can work for Davids tone. Will you or do you have any videos of guidance to David Gilmours tone in his solo album of 1978. Raise your rent in particular has an outstanding solo, but im having such a hard time getting his tone from that song or album. I even have that RA200 Yamaha rotating speaker, but still im struggling. Maybe its my pickups I don't know..
I don't recommend noise reduction pedals because they kill a lot of gain and frequencies. Of course, technology advanced, I don't know any recent pedals but I don't prefer using noise killer pedals. You gotta live through the pain on this one.

coming back to life, now that I listen to it again, tone is terrible. I'll update this video in the following weeks with extreme detail.
Hi,
It’s impressive and inspiring !
Thanks for sharing this !
Can you remember me the song of your « best big muff sound ever » extract ?
Not Now John
Fantastic video---great job Excellent playing and killer tones!
Thank you!

Where can I put my Boss SD-1 Overdrive pedal? Can use it instead of Boss BD-2 or JHS Charlie Brown?
And what do you think about MOOER BLUES MOOD as a replacement for Boss BD-2?
Boss sd-1 is very much different that any pedal you've listed. it doesn't mean you can't use it for gilmour tones, watch this video: ruclips.net/video/guKVdemNxnM/видео.html
it's a high gain tube screamer type pedal. which means a lot of mid boost when you stomp on it. bd-2 is a transistor based pedal, very flat around the eq board and charlie brown is just jtm45 type transistor pedal.
You’re gonna love the updated version of this video coming around the end of march

Amazing!!!! Super nice, man, you can play!
Hi dude ! Cool stuff here ! I'm willing to get Time rythm tone, with a JCM800 and a 74 Les Paul custom, any advice ? 🤣
I'd get a strat :) though, nice guitar man, 74 les paul...
👏👏👏👏👏👏excelent!!!! I follow You from Argentina. Do You use any noise reduction pedal? What's your opinión for that? Thanks!
I don't recommend noise reduction pedals because they kill a lot of gain and frequencies. Of course, technology advanced, I don't know any recent pedals but I don't prefer using noise killer pedals. You gotta live through the pain on this one.
Hi. I must ask you i have zoom g1x four processor. And i can't find tone for the Time by Pink Floyd. I need that opening one string tone if you can help me. Sorry for my bad English
I have no experience with that processor. But you should look for a treble booster and a delay.
Thank you for sharing all this information.
I have a question. What pedal(s) would you suggest to replace the Boss RT-20? It's kind of a hard pedal to find were I live.
Thank you!
I think dawner prince pulse is a good choice, I didn't try it, I can't get it shipped to Istanbul unfortunately.
what the songs name at min 9:41. 10:07 and 11:08 ?
Now I just need to figure out how to get those sounds out of Logic Pro X.
Helix Native
what you mean? lemme help you with that?
@@mustyguitar Im just tying to figure out the Logic Pro X pedalboard configuration that gives me the Gilmour sound.
So i saw these pedals on ur pedal board: MXR Dynacomp, green Russian muff, mxr phaser, boss BD2, Charlie brown, mooer eleclady, boss rt20, TC flashback, boss GE7, chorus pedal ( not sure if that's a mooer) .. did I miss anything?
Signal Chain: MXR Dynacomp Mini -> MXR Custom Shop 74 Reissue Phaser -> EHX Green Russian Big Muff -> Boss BD-2 -> JHS Charlie Brown v4 -> Mooer Eleclady -> TC Flashback 2 -> Mooer Chorus -> Boss RT-20
alternative pedals i showed: Mooer Black Secret - Wampler plexi drive deluxe - EHX Ram's Head
I hear a lot of Delicate Sound of Thunder licks, very nice
Could you use the dawner prince pulse instead of the boss RT-20 and get the same result?
Watch my comparison video, I published a few weeks ago
non bastano i suoni ci vogliono le mani, bending sbagliati
Awesome video! Thanks for putting it together. Question: Are you powering the RT20 off the Fuel Tank? Since it only has 8 outputs (at 9V) there must be at least one pedal getting juice from somewhere else? :)
i actually have 2 power supplies, one underneath the board. it's fuel tank junior.
What effects are used in the dogs solos?
Fantastic! Thank you so much! Damn this BD-2 is doing some heavy lifting for sure!
Keeley darkside does great.
Glad you did the extended solo on Mother.
