- Barren Cross travelled to the BMI Event Center in Versailles OH for a full original lineup, Full show. 9/2/22. It was an incredible night with Steve Whitaker, Ray Parris, Jim Laverde, and Michael Drive (Lee) back together and sharing the stage for the first time in many years. It was a historically epic night! Thank you Steve Barhorst and the BMI Staff for making this happen!

Considering how high and how much volume Mike has to project his voice and his age, he literally killed it! Most guys his age couldn't come close! He's obviously has professional vocal training! Nobody's voice could sound that good after that many years! Voices also get deeper with age! Amazing! Miraculous he still hits most of those high notes!
This is & absolute blessing to watch. Barren Cross, one of my all time favorite bands.

The first time I saw Stryper live, in the 80's, Barron Cross was the opener!! I've dreamed of seeing these two bands together again ever since that night many decades ago.
I’m sure they don’t remember but when I was 11 or so they were in San Antonio Texas and my dad was a dj at a Christian radio station at the time. They needed somewhere to shower & we lived down the road from the venue so they came & showered & I just remember being so starstruck because they were stars in my eyes! ❤My dad sent a video of theirs just last night asking if I remembered. Which led me here. Singer still sounds great!!! ❤
There are many videos of them performing at a show I promoted in the 80’s, right here on the channel. I was blessed to have spent time on the road with BC and will always cherish the experience! That was an amazing time. I read the book "Barren Cross - a christian mother's story", written by Steve Whitaker's mother. Amazing background accounts and insights. A "Metal Missionaries" classic.
I got it on vinyl... I was a pretty big Iron Maiden fan and convinced more than a few of my friends they were listening to new Maiden music...

Serious question, these people rehearsed before the show... they seem to be playing as they remember except for Michael Drive who is the only one who looks like he was ready for the show.
Straight from the board and I guess you can’t tell Michael was the only getting effects? Right? Plus they didn’t get to practice together until two days before and that after not playing together for 20+ years!
@@darthplumbervideos No, it's not a matter of sound; it seems that the drummer gets disoriented during 85% of the set.
I remember when I was playing with a band and still play we were going to be opening act but they had touring band with them the way going to book us got things mix up
Live recordings need multiple room mics to sound good. Recording straight into the mixer without house mics always sounds sterile and dry.
Love Barren Cross since the 80th !! But the sound is not very good.... Voice is good, but the instruments are thin and in the background, with a better mix it would sound much better... Bass is nowhere, from drums only the snare can be heard real and guitar is like played with a small practice-combo. Could have been much better ! But I love them ! Perhaps live the sound was better than at this recording !
Unfortunately the sound for this video was picked in the technically wrong way, or they had general sound problems during that live show. But that was not their only problem, as I listed in an own comment. I find this video not even acceptable for nostagic reasons, it just shows an embarrassing mess.
Some of the other videos of this show on RUclips sound much better. The guitarist and bassist did great actually.

Seems like the drummer may have had some medical issues. Fun to watch but very different from the old days.
The drummer was missing beats, and the musicians were not in sync too many times. A mess, unfortunately.
You have to remember they haven't played together for years, and there might be a little rust. I think they still sound great.
Lot of unsaved people in the audience
They got older and the quality suffered.
