Cause and but are literally just conjunctions. They connect phrases that relate to each other. They serve a purpose. That’s like saying using a an or the is lazy 💀 if the two phrases have nothing to do with each other then ya it’s just a filler word, BUT if the phrase following is related to the first and builds on that idea then it is perfectly acceptable.
Yeah it’s acceptable in general writing but they’re talking about songwriting. I’m not a songwriter, but I am a writer and I know certain things can make your writing lazy if you depend on them too much. Most rules are always broken in writing anyway, but it just helps if you try to stick by them as much as possible. I’ve never done songwriting though so idk how legit that advice even is lol

they did wrote song called alive together, that song was originally intended to be on adele's 3rd album. but adele rejected it. then sia sings it and put it in her album
Depends on tue song and context imo. Taylor always writes like a poet but Adele has always written like she's having an actual conversation so it makes sense.
Everyone calm down, she obviously uses those words in her lyrics as well, i'm sure she just referring to overusing them and putting them as filler words where they are not needed :)
“Cause” isn’t lazy. A lot of times it works better to replace “because” changing it from two syllables to one can make more sense depending on how the lyrics flow. It can just be stylistic too. That’s a silly, uppity criticism to make….never been a Sia fan. Go Adele!
@Merle Ginsberg Official oh stop. That is such a worn out argument. “You aren’t famous so you couldn’t possibly know anything” such nonsense. Words have been shortened for stylistic choices in music for ages. It’s not a secret. You don’t have to be famous to realize it. Just humble enough to pull your head out of your own a$$ and realize what doesn’t work for your music, does work for someone else’s.
@@TheoOnyiri I’m not pissed. I just don’t think shortening words for music is lazy, and I don’t think it’s a good criticism. Tons of musicians shorten words for stylistic purposes. I’m just disagreeing with the criticism.
@@TheoOnyiri yeah, no, I saw that. That’s your interpretation of what was said, not mine. There was nothing in the video that indicated that’s specifically what she meant.
People don't take this to mean that Sia made Adele feel bad. They are friends and she took it humorously. You guys should do the same aside if we talk about being lazy Sia is the laziest at everything. So don't be offended and laugh because there is literally nothing offensive here
Sia has mastered writing lol I think it’s important to know that she’s a behind-the-scenes writer and is only famous because she accidentally had credits on titanium
Well... Sia has been working in the music industry for a long time, she can write songs in many different styles. Sia has written songs for artists like Rihanna, Katy Perry, Kelly Clarkson, Celine Dion, Pink, Beyoncé, etc. Sia is a more experienced, versatile and diverse songwriter than Adele
“Trite words” words like like, if, so.. words that you don’t need but you use anyway. Side note I always say that Adele is British sia and this confirms it for me
Sia meant that it was not good to use these words meaninglessly or to use them too much. Everyone uses these words in lyrics, it's normal. But using them as filler words in every sentence doesn't make sense.

funny because 19 is my favorite album by far and I think her songs sound much rawer and emotionally relatable
It’s by far her best album

well no one said it is _not_ an good album lol
@@NazriB girl what?? my entire comment was very clearly opinion based. You can’t reasonably say that any of that was a lie.
maybe because youre closer to 19 in age than 30 so you relate more, i know i do

"You used but in your comment. You're not hard working enough."
- Sia, probably
we are not talking about communication we are talking about a craft that is called songwriting.
Way to miss the point entirely
It’s the overuse. It’s like writing a poem and every line begins with I- then- the- when- but-…. It lacks creativity and visual story telling

Sia and Adele’s voices together would be nothing short of heaven.
Adele modified her voice with the mic
I LOVE that Sia is working with her…..She is an amazing songwriter….
Ages ago. And all the songs were rejected by her. So it's a non-starter
