Try the American Pulitzer-prize winning novelist Jane Smiley. “Barn Blind” is centered on a family whose life is horses. “Horse Heaven” is a year in US Thoroughbred racing, following a bunch of human and equine characters. Both are very well written, and since Smiley is a horse woman herself, the details are very accurate. Enjoy!

Perestroika in Paris is my new favourite of hers. Would recommend if you’re looking for something happy, and different in the best possible way.
Please please can you do a nostalgic video about horse books we read as kids? I bloody loved the Riders books by Samantha Alexander, I still have a sneaky read of them now every so often! Also Ginny Elliot’s novels about racing - must have read them 100 times!
Oh my God I'd love to know what the UK kids read. There is one book I read in middle school that isn't great but I still have a fondness for the unique elements of it
The blaze of glory series was the best series I ever read! However I had them all downloaded on my Kindle so I read it more like a 900 page single book 😂😂
I recommend the silver brumby. It is from the horses point of view and not involving people ( unlike the movie which is completely different.)
I loved those books as a child!
I loved this video! It inspired me to start reading again. And I went ahead and bought Unstable right after I finished this video! Also it’s not horsey but Throne of Glass is one of my all time favorite book series, I highly recommend you read it if you haven’t yet! 💞💞

I was reading this on my Kindle, I stopped because I was going to read a Christmas book, which took aaages (and wasn't very good). I completely forgot about The Horse Woman!

I've got the perfect books for you to read, you might not like it but you've got to read them! They are horsey books as well. Lauren st john, has a series of three books, The One Dollar Horse, Race The Wind, and finally Firestorm! Then she did another horsey book, its singular but my favourite and my sisters favourite book ever, The Glory!!!!!!! Please read them, they're the best books ever, and you might enjoy them!!!

I can definitely recommend reading Lucinda Greens autobiographies up up and away, regal realm, four square and wide awake. Fascinating from an eventing perspective but non fiction. Keep up the vlogs, love all the content 🐴
And they have lots of romance in them! I'm like you, Romance and Horsey adventures are my favourite type of book! Got any suggestions?!
The only horse novel writers I have read are Jilly Cooper and Fiona Walker. Edited to add that I have put together a plot for a book I am planning. Not sure it'll be your cup of tea.
Oooh good luck with writing it! I'd love to read it one day. I do like a variety of types of literature I think I was just craving a good, coszy romance when filming this!
I was about to mention Jilly Cooper! Lots of fun to read, lots of horsey worlds, but don’t expect high brow literature😜
