I’m 83 and a former anchorperson who wore lots of makeup on set. For me now less is more. But drugstore makeup has really upped their game. Lovely look at a reasonable price. Thanks for sharing.

Hi I’m a 70 year old nurse still working and wanting to cut back on expenses! I love you suggestions and went out today and bought several of the items at Meijer plus 4 lipsticks for under $80 dollars! Got home and tried them all! Love everyone of them! After spending $70 on one bottle of foundation I am really happy to make the switch! Thank you so much for your research and time for helping us older retired /working people trying to save our money❤️!

I’m 73 and have been doing my eyes the same way since my 30’s. I’ve had a ton of complements and younger women asking how I achieve the look. Surprise, you just taught this old dog a new trick. I tried using a lighter shadow on my inner corners at my nose and left a lighter (off white) bigger area under my brow. Opened up my eyes and gave me a brighter, fresher look. No more subtle stuff. It’s like having a personal makeup consultant along for the advice! I see these products all the time and, quite frankly, thought no way. You have taken the quests work out of the mix! Round 2 Please. This video was so timely. Have been basically homebound with health issues for several months. This video inspired me to have a coming out party with a new look, new product without breaking the bank. I'm 73 and would love to see a non- matte or combo drug store makeup look. Love this matte look but it would be a too drying look and feel on my face. I use´both high end and drug store products and agree that the drug store lines have come a long way. I love all your tutorials!
I can only add a very loud THANK YOU... it must feel good to know how much you help us ladies stay looking good, and for those of us who are retired, a special thanks for sharing information about products that are less costly.
For me personally?.... I don't do the " dewy look bcuz it makes me look oily & I hate having an oily look to my face bcuz I end up having to touch up with powder about every hour no matter what the weather.
Love to see a part 2 in "Dewy". It was also gratifying to see what it looked like in outdoor lighting, as that can change your look a lot too. Thanks Dominique 😊

You hit the points for us mature women who crave a good drug store products. Drug store products have come a long way from years ago. I find that as I reorganize my make up and rotate my make up I find some hidden gems 💎 I missed and need to add back into my rotation every month. I enjoy a matte look but have that natural glow which radiates from within. I &ins that since the pandemic we are always looking for affordable options for make up. I agree with Lisa. At 65 I lean towards a dewy, less is more look. Seems to help to not emphasize the lines as much as a matte finish does.

Dominique I just found you and this video on drug store makeup. I'm 80 and do not want to be over made up. After looking at your skin and skill I purchased almost all makeup you demonstrated. Today I used it for the first time using your skills and the products. I have a health problem with my right eye and am allergic to most brands. I like your style of looking natural yet wearing and applying makeup. I did not overdo, but used the liquid foundation, eye makeup, used brushes for contouring and lipstick. I did not use powder and the foundation covered some age spots after application. I am so happy with my new look, it is not overdone, looks natural and lasts. I started using the NYX lift and snatch for my eyebrows and wow!! What a difference it has made for me. I don’t spend 30-40 minutes doing eyebrows. Thank you for showing how to use it and helping me out. 😉

Elf has really emerged as a brand favorite in the affordable make up area. So many beauty influencers are showcasing their products. Started using Elf when everything was only $1 and loved their products back then. Thanks for this video!
I use ELF make up. It seems to bee all that I use except for eyeshadow. My eyelids have gotten droopy/ wrinkly & I wear Revlon Cream eyeshadow.

Leza, Revlon has Tattoo Pods & Maybelline does too, but It depends on which has my light neutral colors to choose from.
I really appreciate the care and attention you put into sharing these products with us. You really go above and beyond. When I first started watching you I really didn’t know a lot about applying make up in my 50s. I felt like everything that I did didn’t look great. Now I feel so much more confident and I’m having success with everything I’ve learned from you. Make up can be such a nice enhancement and it just makes me feel good to look my best. I just love that drugstore makeup has come soooo far from the days when I first started wearing and buying makeup. It was always the poor stepchild of cosmetics. I especially like that you don’t have to spend a small fortune on makeup anymore to get quality. I love the look on you. I feel on my more mature dry skin that all that powder would really look cakey on my 62-year-old skin, but it certainly looks flawless on you. A more dewy look would be great or even a look using cream products. I love any video you do so go for it!

I'm 46 and I had given up on foundations. I'm going to try the Milani one. When I was younger I could slap any old thing on my face and it was at least passable! Lol- not now! Thank you, beautiful lady 🤍
Oh yes, same here! My skin has become so dry and ruddy and I have to make a lot more effort and I’m usually not very happy with the result!
Ladies, I’m 48 in June and let me tell you, AHA’s, Vitamin C serum and retinol is the way to go!! The difference these products have made to my skin has been a game changer when it comes to how my foundation looks!

would Avon be considered a drugstore type? i started using Avon just last year. Korean beauty products included now. maybe consider their cushion foundation. ?
@@neanea1173 I use the Maelove Glycolic Night Renewer cream… it’s a 10% glycolic moisturiser which is gentle but effective!! I use it three times a week. Hope this helps!

Oh man you hit the nail on the head…my latest challenge has been makeup separation around my chin. It is frightening when I glance in a mirror and that’s the first thing I see with some foundations. I have learned primers are essential in that area. I love the Real Techniques brushes.

I have heard (& suspect it's true) that it's all the same stuff....expensive makeup just packaged more luxuriously. (?).
@@dresser6135 True. Few drugstore makeup companies have their own research facilities. Higher end company Estée Lauder does, but few do. Did you also know all the high end sunglasses are made by one company. Luxottica owns nearly every popular brand of sunglasses sold worldwide as well as those in Sunglass Hut.
@@dresser6135 Yeah most drugstore makeup is just as good as the high end makeup. The only makeup product I don’t mind spending a *little* more money on is foundation. Powders all seem pretty much the same to me, especially eyeshadows and blushes. But high end foundations do seem to be a little better than drugstore.
I truly appreciate the reviews, as others have mentioned we’re all in a place of having to cut some corners and it’s nice to see what is available

Yes, I would like to see the Dewey finish. I have extremely dry skin 😩. I usually mix foundation & face moisturizer together to get the finish & Dewey look I need.

I'm 60, I have use higher price point makeup and skincare. All my life! I put it in the budget. But...... I really love your video today on Drug Store finds. I'm writing them all down and see if I can perfect the look you showed us. I'm fair and at my age feel I need a more natural look and you accomplished that today and more!
I make my own make up remover. 2 cups Aloe Vera gel, 2 Tsp. & stir well together in a decorative Mason jar ( small ) & put in refrigerator to chill for an hour to thicken. Then use as needed with a cotton ball.

Loved this tutorial. It's great when someone has done the footwork to find affordable makeup. I can say I have used the ELF concealer and it is a wonderful product it does cover.

I’m a total makeup ‘snob’ who loves all of the high end stuff. With that said though, nothing beats Real Techniques brushes. They blow away every other brush that I have tried.

I'm 63 and only wore minimal makeup before the pandemic. During that time, I started watching makeup and dermatologists videos from alot of different influencers. I decided that at my age, I needed to focus on more skincare and a tad more makeup. I was going light with shimmer shades, but noticed women around my age that wore shimmers, looked like disco balls. Not a good look for daytime! Now, I go all matte for daytime and don't use a highlighter. I have oily acne prone skin so it doesn't take long before I have a dewy look. I do use blotting papers occasionally throughout the day, but I still don't look matte and dried out. I love alot of e.l.f. and Milani products because of their affordablity and they're just good products! I debated buying the palette you featured in this video because the colors didn't seem to have alot of variance, but they do. So now I will purchase one! I've often thought that someday, I'd like to purchase a couple of Charlotte Tilbury products, just to have a glamorous look on my vanity. Dumb, right?! Milani has the prettiest packaging of all drugstore makeup, but I also realize that stepping up the packaging for alot of brands would mean price increases, so what's a girl to do? Use the best products for my skin and skin tone, even though it's not in a pretty package. But here's a thought...instead of some of these products going for gimmicky childish packaging, put that money into upping the packaging looks to alittle fancier compacts, foundation bottles, tubes, etc. jmo. Thanks for all your hard work. Can't wait to read your book!
Hi Dominique, I loved this video. I use a drugstore foundation and some other drugstore products. They have upped their game. I got so tired of purchasing high end makeup that really didn’t work for me plus they are expensive.🌷🌷
