This one is quickly becoming my favourite because it is really a brave song about people struggling with alcoholism. The Green Serpent is an Eastern European metaphor for alcoholism. (Tatiana has posted about her sobriety). She and the band have a lot of talent and their compositions are driving the evolution of metal but it takes guts to expose one's struggles. Great reaction (Subbed)

Probably just Russian. Soviet anti-alcohol posters featured green snakes. There is a 2013 short documentary film entitled "The Green Serpent" about the effects of vodka.

You should check out Bad Water. It’s all clean vocals.

Regarding the harsh vocals, Elizabeth Zharoff (a professional opera singer) partnered with the University of Utah to study harsh vocals using cameras, needles, and live MRIs.
They already studied Will Ramos-five research papers based on the study are being written-and they put the video on RUclips. Tatiana has also volunteered to do the same (along with a few others) so that video will be on RUclips at some point, hopefully soon.
I'm not sure if you'd want to react to it or just check it out for fun. The channel is The Charismatic Voice. 🍻

*"The serpent gives an umbrella on a sunny day
And takes it back when it rains
It holds so much annihilating power
    So it's turning
Saints into sinners in just one hour"*
I think the entire band has gone through these struggles with alcohol.
As have many of the viewers and fans.

A lot of metal music expresses struggles people deal with, that usually falls on depression, anger, frustration, relationships, suicide, death, and even what this song is about, which is alcoholism. A lot of metal music listeners fall under two primary categories I would say. Listening for the lyrics, and listening for the energy and emotion behind the music. I fall moreso on the energy side, lyrics to me are secondary to the feeling the music gives. It can feel very cathartic to listen to music that connects to you on an emotional level. And not all metal is doom and gloom. The German band We Butter the Bread with Butter, made a song about going fast on their scooters called 20km/h. I consider myself to be very picky with what artists I listen to, but I listen to many genres, so I moreso keep to the best that I find and stick with that. If you do have further questions in relation to this topic, I would be happy to discuss further!

It's an acquired taste for sure, but she's one of the best to blend clean and distorted vocals. You have to step outside what you have been taught and hear the way the harshness is used rather than picking it out and analyzing it in a vacuum. It's also very hard to control the sound and still give dynamic tones as well.
P.S. the song is about alcoholism

lol Green Serpent is metaphorically referred to alcohol in russian. Bitten by green serpent in slavic tradition is symbolic of alcoholism and the depths of intoxication/addiction.....as for the song, the opeth outro is cool. Middle LOG breakdown is cool. Also kinda sounds like an angular proggy album cut on first listen, but quickly turns out to be a banger😂😂.....also tati looks hot here 😂😂

Beggars dance is another clean vocal track, kinda short though unfortunately. If you want to to see a great example of Tatiana using her growls to express emotion check out Home Back it is one of my favourites from jimjer. P.S might pay to do a little research before reacting so you have some context

Serpent is mildly ambiguous in English (and French.) It certainly implies a larger, constrictor-type snake, but can also mean a dragon.
