    Single target should always use seal twisting. Judge crusader, this is a straight up increase to all the holy damage(threat) you’re about to do. Seal of righteousness is on its own GCD so pop that as you run up to the mob. Drop max consecration, max holy shield and then let SoR and Ret aura maintain threat.
    As long as your dps can manage their aggro(at 55+ don’t group with them if they can’t) you shouldn’t have any threat issues at all. Make sure to have your macro set up to BoP anyone who pulls aggro. That will kick them right off the threat table and the mob will come back over to you.
    If it was a caster, start the rotation over again.
    If melee they’ll probably not realize what happened and be locked out of attacking for 4-5 seconds so going back into “judge crusader, seal righteousness” should work fine.
    Having a ret pally specced in Sanctity Aura is also awesome as it stacks with Ret Aura. Having a tankadin, retadin and a healadin in the same group will synergize very well.
    Tanked as a prot pally in vanilla and this is what worked for me. The most important part of tankadin is finding friends. If your dps will let you get threat, you’ll almost never lose it.

      I never had it drop when I played classic back in 2005/2006. It's not really worth farming since the drop rate is so low, there isn't any other purpose in going into BRD after you've hit 60, it takes a very long time to get to the final boss, and there is no guarantee you'll actually win the roll if and when it does drop.

      Hey, thanks. I can definatly make some holy related content, but ret is not something that I play at a high level. I wouldn't really be able to give any meaningful insight on the subject.

      Sorry amigo, I got a full time job and lost my motivation to game. I don't have the same free time self employment offered, and I kinda entered a new career oriented phase of life, so to speak.
      I do like making videos tho, and my work/life balance is in check now. I got some plans to get back into it for TBC. Maybe mix in live streams and keep the shorter, edited videos for specific topics.
      When I do return, it will be in full swing. Glad you liked the content so far. There will be more for sure.

    Great guide! I watched both this and the first one several times in the last 2 months. Thank you!
    What macro are you using to downrank? At 60 would you take Improved Crusader over Spiritual Focus?

    • @BoochieSmash
      @BoochieSmash  3 года назад +1

      Ho man, it's been awhile since I played. Glad you enjoyed it!
      The macro would just be a standard cast modifier one. So something like /cast [mod:shift] Consecration(Rank 1); [mod:ctrl] Consecration(Rank 2); [nomod] Consecration
      You can also do two buttons iirc like /cast [mod: shift,mod:ctrl] Consecrate
      I'd still run Spiritual Focus at 60 for everything outside of min/maxing a raid build perhaps. It's just a solid talent for any paladin to have in their arsenal. If you have end-game raid gear like T2 or 2.5 then getting both 10% strength and 10% int would be solid too.

    • @frenherssens4750
      @frenherssens4750 3 года назад

      Thank you for your response.
      Did you never have trouble holding aggro without Improved Crusader? Or a lack of damage while boosting guildies? Spiritual Focus did save my life a lot while soloing.
      Were you able to tank raids?

    • @BoochieSmash
      @BoochieSmash  3 года назад

      @@frenherssens4750 You just have accept that you can't hold every mob on every pull everytime. Spec won't change having 3 geared dps gangbang a mob a split second after it gets aggrod, because there is no spec that offers a taunt. Dps have to know to wait at the start of a boss fight. I have a video about tanking without any prot talents, which offers a lot of burst threat, but same rules apply for how dps need to work with you. Either way, as long as your healer isn't getting hit, no one is dying in 5mans or low end raids at this stage of the game.
      I only tanked in raid a few times for fun, and it was mostly blessing of kings spam for threat. The raid tank meta is a whole different beast that I don't mess with. Frankly, I find raids to be pretty lame gear pinatas that aren't worth tuning an entire character around. Poop out some heals, have some fun with friends, get paid, go back to playing the real game. I wouldn't sink too much time into worrying about spec for either use case.

      @@BoochieSmash You're right. Most of the time I just boost guildies with a 31/0/20 build. I was really serious during leveling, wanting to hit 60 as soon as possible because TBC was looming. I farmed Earth Elementals from 40-50 and got a Flurry Axe, Skullflame Shield, and Truesilver Armor, with Uther's Strength and Mark Of The Chosen. And now that I'm 60 I find myself rather bored. But I like leading low levels through dungeons, and I'm the main healer of my guild at the same time. Oh, and I got the Fiery Blaze enchantment on the Flurry Axe, the one from the quest where you must bring a fire drake's heart.
      I'm having fun. And your videos helped me a lot. Guess I worry too much.

    Why not use seal of crusade judgement for more holy dmg which should translate to more threat (at least on the primary target)?

    • @BoochieSmash
      @BoochieSmash  5 лет назад +1

      Fights need to last like 20-30 seconds to get enough value out of crusade, which pretty much means bosses only. In an ideal world you can open boss fights with crusader, but in the real world, where people are precasting and blowing cooldowns at the start of boss fights, you need to get snap threat with a damaging judgement instead of trying to play the long con with a debuff.
      That being said, you can do it if you are using holy shock or exorcism as your opener. Crusader judge + either one is a great way to start a fight.

    I’m level 18 and about to tank Deadmines... should I use a 2hander or sword and shield???

    • @BoochieSmash
      @BoochieSmash  5 лет назад

      Both. At low levels a shield mostly provides extra armor since you won't be blocking much. If you pull 3+ mobs slap on the shield, otherwise you can use the 2hander. On easy bosses use the 2 hand, and on hard bosses use the shield. This pretty much applies until you get holy shield.

    • @VolkorShima

      Have been tanking all the way to 35 with a 2h, just now got a shield and a sword both with dmg procs for holding aggro. 2h’er is better for single target threat, just make sure you’re healer isn’t asleep and the mages/locks/rogues have salvation (bc they die easy).

  • @robertp457

    Reckoning is a terrible talent. It rarely procs and when it does the paladin would be taking a lot of damage.

    • @Rastei
      @Rastei 5 лет назад +1

      The problem of reckoning is defense stat. This guide applies well in dungeons. I'm 380 Def right now and lvl 60 mobs hardly never crit me. So for reckoning you need a lot of stamina and your healer have to be good.
