This is so beautiful. The dance moves, the crowd, the street and of course the one who recorded this amazing video and posted it on RUclips. Love Ethiopia. God bless Ethiopia.
Thanks for your kind words. I was the ones recorded and uploaded to RUclips. Probabely this was the first RUclips video about activities in the city of Awassa/Hawassa. That time, the country was peaceful and welcoming everyone, unlike with current politics. Current politic is more than discouraging. I was promoting my country of origin to outside world in different forms as you may have noticed from the note at the end of this video. Thanks again.
@@mathewsdita Thank you too Mathews Dita. Awassa is an amazing place to visit. AND Awassa/Hawassa in my places-to-visit list. Ethiopia is a BEAUTIFUL country and with beautiful people and places to visit.
I'm American my grandmother used to walk to school barefoot, poor in the south! A world without African people would be so empty and bereft of life it wouldn't be worth living in. We offer so much to the world that is non material or transient, an eternal spirit courses through our veins. The world is richer for it. God bless this wondrous land of creative people. Ashai!
The best comment so far I have ever seen about our Africans. Africans are happy people regardless of their poor living standard. I love Africa. God bless!
Thanks. Good to know that you like my video. This video was recorded during booming and welcoming times where everyone was happy. I hope and pray that peace will restored in my country sooner than later.
+Pit Pan Yes indeed these kids are showered with happiness regardless of their poor life style. There is no factor in that part of the world that would stress them out whatsoever but happiness. Thanks for complement too.
This dance is called "Wolaytigna dance". In this video, the daces were mixed with Wolytigna dances and modern daces. Only the girls here actually were dancing Wolytigna but others do mix Wolytigna with modern dances. Any dances danced on the street are street dances. On this video, dance was recorded during especial events on the street of Awassa in 2009. Thanks for visiting this video site. To see actual song and dance, search under “ AW Bade" by-Mamila And Kichini ” . Good luck
Everytime I go back to Ethiopia I always visit Addis and Gonder because of family; never made it to the south yet. But this video reminds us that it's ALL Ethiopia...so many beautiful people to make up such a beautiful country. Ethiopia mama-ye, igzerstelegne hulghize
I love you becuste you have alot of feeling and beuotifull ward amaizing voic i love you tiddy afrro i love you ethiopia love you mama africa big lovely from sudan i say hiiiiiii
If you want to listen the original sone, it is called: "Aw Bade "-BY: Mamila and Kichini. Enjoy it. It's nice to visit Ethiopia and experience many different types of ethnic songs and their different ethnic-based dances.
Thanks for your complement on my video. Also you can watch how clean Awassa streets are by visiting “Awassa Ethiopia, street tour 2009”. Also go far to Arba Minch area to see the natural beauty of the Southern Ethiopia and rich culture of people of Ethiopia in the South.
@tiggershunnie This song is called "AW Bade"-Mamila And Kichini. Just search under this name in RUclips. This is Wolytigna and Amharic mix. you will love it.
Thanks almasheer for your complement on my video about city of beautiful Awassa, in Southern Ethiopia. I will be posting more video about Awassa in near future.
This dance is called "Wolaytigna dance" came from Wolyta tribes in Southern Ethiopia about 400 km South of Addis Ababa, Ethiopia. Walaytigna dances were normally a type of dance that involves parts of your body below the waist twisting waistline and shaking butts. Also the dancers hold long stick and jump very high and pull their legs back and forth following the beat and the rhythm of the songs.
@Rasdashen1 Absolutely street dance is good and these poor kids are happier than those of us living over seas and have money. Happiness doesn't come from money alone.
This song is called "Aw Bade". There few of them posted under the same name but the only quality sound you will find by typing the following ling on you tube. Type: AW Bade-Mamila And Kichini-Full. Thanks for visiting my posting(s)
Good to know that one of your future plan is to visit Southern part of Ethiopia. You will every part of it. I suggest to you to visit Arba Minch as well to see Lake Abaya and Lake Chamo where you will see so called Crocodil Market, the biggest crocodile pile up in the world.
I am glad you managed to get to Awassa and been to places that I recommended. Attractions? You would enjoy better in Arba Minch area about 250 km South West of Awassa (if you have a time). There you will see parks and animals, different lakes, hippos, crocodiles etc. Sure not like South Africa for that matter but has breath taking views from international standard hotels like Arba Minch Paradise lodge. You will see Hummer vehicle with Americans lots of them.
My personal suggestion is that you should go to down town hotels where you meet lots of people having fun on their spare times. I would suggest that you should go to Lewi hotel in down town in the center of the city. There are two Lewi hotels in the city. One is Lewi (Piazza Hotel) the one in the city centre that was mentioned above, and another one is Lewi Resort Hotel near the lake. Take Bajaj taxi to go to down town.
This is so beautiful. The dance moves, the crowd, the street and of course the one who recorded this amazing video and posted it on RUclips.
