Thank you for easy to follow instructions. Your fabrics are beautiful too! I'm learning to sew and not familiar with fabrics yet. What type is use in bomber jackets? God bless!
Jewel, thank you so so much for your kind comment 🤎🙏🏾 I’m so so grateful! How are you getting on? For the main fabric I used Ankara, you can you cotton then the band bits are made of knit ribbing … I hope this helps 🤎
Hi I have 2 questions. 1. How many yards /meters of ribbing did you use? And 2, first time I'm hearing of air stay. Is that the same as vilene/interface? I know there's the paper like interface and then there's the fabric one. This looks like the fabric one.
Hello! So ribbing is sold differently as I’ve got different types and I also didn’t measure is. I however explained how to determine what you might need; I hope this help. Yes air stay is a type of iron on interfacing; it’s fabric but light weight.
I will be trying to make a similar jacket for a cosplay but my main source of materials is an old coat that is much larger than the final jacket. Do you think I can make a prototype just out of the lining and then cut out the main pieces later and can this method be used to make it from leather-like material?
Oh yes, I’ll recommend taking out the stitches as opposed to cutting it up, takes more time but you get a better fabric surface (knock off) method. This method works ❤️👌🏾

@@SewUnique_ng In Kenya, we use it to make the waist band be more firm. So it's ironed on the fabric because it has a sticky side so that when ironed on the fabric it sticks

Where in the video do you sew the ribbing fabric to the neckline? I can't find it

I love the video...thank you ma God will increase your knowledge but please apart from the fabric, the other material how many yards did you use.
Thank you so much Bolaji ❤️
What other material? The lining? Same quantity as the main fabric,
@@SewUnique_ng thank you ma
Do you need the air stay? Or can you just use the lining? Also what material do you use for the lining?
If you want it very light, I suppose you can do away without the air stay. I used cotton lining

Hi , can a paper pattern draft be made for this jacket ?
Hi Lily. You can basically repeat the steps on paper to keep a copy if you like. Does this answer your question? ❤️
