How well I remember hitting the beach in our Marine Corp beach assault training. Disembarking our ship using over the side rope ladders and entering our landing vehicles . The worse part was the circling of these landing vehicles till there's enough of us to hit the beach. Sitting in the vehicle circling will get the hardest Marine sea sick. By the time we hit the beach and took up our positions we were so sea sick we just laid there for a couple of hours. I can remember having a can of peaches left over from my sea rations. I gabled that down and it felt so good to have the flavor that settled my stomach. I thank God it was a training exercise and there wasn't any rounds flying at us.

Valerie Pritt Thanks! I mean our army is actually pretty useless not gonna lie. We got like 4 naval frigates which completes our navy, we have no fighter jets apart from a few cargo planes and that makes up our airforce (our airforce logo is also a flightless bird which tells the entire story of our airforce). Our army has like 14,000 man power with no tanks which makes up the NZ army for you. If we go back in time though then I’d agree that our army wasn’t a complete laughing stock to the world. Thanks a lot though for the comment, even though the US and NZ don’t get along as well anymore since we stopped sucking up to people now and also made it hard for the US to nuclear test in the Pacific.

Valerie Pritt I’m not going to express any of my political views, but I feel like our military is alright for now. We aren’t being threatened by anyone and aren’t really a threat either. The only time we were about to get invaded was the Japanese in WW2 which was fortunately stopped by the US (thanks again). China wouldn’t invade since they’re one of our biggest trading partners. I think it would be good to get a few fighter jets and maybe some tanks as though to improve our military. We have a good environment to train our troops in all conditions which is pretty good. Really nice to be complimented by an American on our army. We aren’t really an embarrassment when it comes to our army since we have had quite a few military accomplishments, but it does get overlooked since we are a small nation.

2019: the landing crafts just drive up on shore and are tanks.
To be fair, these vehicles shown here have existed since the early 70's, and similar vehicles existed, and were used (mostly in the Pacific theater) of WW2. (en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Landing_Vehicle_Tracked)
That's because of a change of tactics. Most beach landings nowadays won't be as contested, such as D-DAY, or during the Pacific Theater. I hope this helps clarify.
I was thinking about that this whole time. I wonder how well all of this new equipment, training, and techniques will do against relentless machine gun and mortar fire.
Still, it’s awesome to see the allies and coalition training together from time to time. 💪

현재 특전사 간부이고 파병때 워리어플랫폼 시범적용을 받아 써봤는데요 몇달 쓰지도 않았는데 해져서 어깨끈부터해서 떨어지더라고요..빠른보급도 좋지만 품질개선문제서도 개선해야될듯 싶어요 더더욱 국산이라면..
