@@Moose6340 high altitude in the Rockies contains about 40% less oxygen in the air. It’s a massive difference, humans that go out hiking there who aren’t used to it will get altitude sickness and puke their brains out. Engines need good old O2 as well, has to have some effect
You know you've been down the track a few times before when you can call out your times at the end of the run according to the feel. Keep your head up gents!
Everyone complaining about Mullet: Sick seconds 1.0 couldn’t manage better than a 7.560 average at Midwest drags, and that is a much, much more dialed and perfected build than Mullet at this point. That’s how this shit goes. A 6 second capable car doesn’t just go 6s every time, or even most of the time. You are watching a shakedown on a new car, running in far less than ideal conditions, not to mention the fact that it has to be driven to continue. It isn’t turned up, the DA was over 8k for these passes which amounts to roughly 24% down on power. The prep at these drag and drive events is never great because the track is in use for so long on the day. Track prep is the difference between low 60’ times and awful ones. Don’t bitch, you didn’t buy the car or pay for the videos. Cleeter is still winning the event. That is what counts. Kevin built an amazing machine, if any of you clowns had built this it wouldn’t have made it to the end of your driveway.
Its showing the power however.. 182mph.. Its just a matter of making those turbos happy.. Which is the challenge.. Got me wondering about the dump valve.. It seems lazy bringing them up
But we want to see it fly, you're not wrong but we still want to see it do a 7 second pass. It'll never do a 6 at stupid elevations and high heat like these piss poor conditions though.
With some suspension and a harder launch, Parker'll be flying! Cool! Man, Kevin really did a phenomenal job with Mullet. Amazing work! You can tell how much pride he takes in his craft. Every little detail is perfect or near-perfect.
Just know, these struggles with the new car are very valuable teaching moments! You’re gonna be a better tuner/mechanic/chassis guy at the end of all this! Excited to see you keep growing

And, you're 5000 feet above sea level on a stupid hot day. The density altitude must be crazy high. Mullet's got to be way down on power even with those twin turbskis.
@@Moose6340 They talked about in Brents video(PFI Speed) DA was 8500

I hope the blazer becomes the new cheap build like Ruby was.
After that I hope it becomes the new “cheap” build, like Ruby did.
You know you've been down the track a few times before when you can call out your times at the end of the run according to the feel. Keep your head up gents!
Travis pastranas center stripe on the wheel is a little american flag. Think that needs to be a motion race option. I would buy it.
I bet whoever made the travis wheel has some kind of patent on that
@@Matty.Hill_87 can't patent the flag
@@MotorsportsX oh really? That's awesome that's its free game because it looks incredible
Make it so!
You mean the center of his tread is made into a flag?
@@boostn32 I bet they aren’t using it or it’s not set up right.
@@ryanlamfers8692 No but it’ll get a 7 tomorrow I bet. You know Cleet and Kevin are on the phone figuring that launch out.
I'm not sure anyone was complaining?
With some suspension and a harder launch, Parker'll be flying! Cool!
Man, Kevin really did a phenomenal job with Mullet. Amazing work! You can tell how much pride he takes in his craft. Every little detail is perfect or near-perfect.
Kevin really made the logs of this car into F1 data level. Truly fantastic build! Ready to see this thing hook and send!
It’s funny how he just calls his run times before even getting the slips. Talent 👌🏾
I think Jackstand should overnight a nitrous system for the Blazer lol
Cleet already ordered that yesterday....
It’s being fitted now
Dude you guys gotta set that blazer up with a sick engine and make it a ripper, its a nice looking blazer
Another totally stock car for the fleet
Nah it’s ripe for demolition drags
Just know, these struggles with the new car are very valuable teaching moments! You’re gonna be a better tuner/mechanic/chassis guy at the end of all this! Excited to see you keep growing
Also, damn that was some violent tire shake for a second
Tuning is so much easier to understand with your sound effects! Finally makes sense!
4.3 radiator with intrepid fans! and never worry about heat again :D Thats what we use on the s10 ls swaps, they work amazing!
Honestly though, just build an 8.0 bracket car. you literally will never lose. Or you'll break out deep into the 7s every time
Hell yeah. These video's are something I have been looking forward to every day guys, You're all amazing at what you do and it is so entertaining just to see you guys have fun.
Don't let the process of learning a new car stress ya out the best part of racing is the frustration of dialing in a car then when u finally get it it just makes it that much more better
Just a shot in the dark but I run the same ignition on a blown alcohol sand drag deal and I had to tighten my gap up from 20 thousands to 12 thousands to prevent candles getting blown out, worked good since! 7s or bust man! Too cool mullet 🇺🇸
Blazer hood is gone, what a shock, lol. Cleet has had enough of these hoods on his cars!
I hope they don’t put the blazer out to pasture after this that would be a sick build
It will be a sad day if they start hose-clamping a snorkel onto the fender
@@kilgorefamily76 lol Ik right it needs turbskis

Cleetus is part owner of motion works, and he paid for the blazer. I see no other option
Get it closer to sea level, and it'll be faster. Not fast, but faster.
You guys should have got a dry nitrous kit from the motion trailer for the blazer! Those injectors can handle a 100 shot easy. It would help spice it up a bit. You could even snag a fuel pump if need be from your new company motion raceworks!
You think they could make it work with the factory computer? You really think there's enough duty cycle in those stock injectors?
@@martyconsidine8628 yessir I put the same stock Gen 3 LS in my Silverado and daily drove with a 100 shot dry. No issues until I stuck a 150 jet in, the engine went into limp mode aka “power reduction mode” because I probably maxed out the injectors and stock fuel pump. Lol
You need to put a radio in the blazer with kids voices saying "ARE WE THERE YET" everytime Jackstand races. That looked like it took forever to finish. 😆
No cleetus its called a new race car and comes with all the fun of getting thing were they need to be. Remember how long it took ruby to become such a great car were anyone could run low 8's. Still keep up the great work man we all know brett will keep up the smiles.
Nice for George to get a free interior wash with the exterior.
There's going to be a blackout on Craigslist waiting for ole Mullet to appear for 10.00
I already sent Cleetus my $10. If it goes 7’s, it’s just money for the beer fund 8.01 and I get a sweet El Camino for cheap
At least the alternator belt is staying on.
Tuning is so hard- track, DA, multiplied by numerous car systems of which many are changing during runs and then there is the driver part. It's just dang hard. You're doing great Cleet; some days you can't lose and some days you can't win. All that said, I believe you're still leading the pack. If this was easy, anyone could do it. Really enjoying Race Week! C'mon Mullet!
Dudes!!! This is why your so revered and liked!!! Your guys honesty and humbleness are what makes you guys so fun to watch!! We’re watching the makings of a real race crew on accident?!
I can see in Brent's eyes he's hurting even when he smiles... I'm so sorry Brent, for everything yall are going through. I'm so glad this event happened during all this stuff because at least you get a little break from the chaos. Keep your chin up brother. 🤘
I think Brent is more worried about the future of motorsports in general. I don't think he's sweating 18 grand. There are so many people willing to donate to him that he probably won't come out of pocket at all he'll probably end up making money on it
I don’t follow him. What happened?
@@alexisrodriguez7127 the EPA hit him with an $18,000 fine for selling modified ECU’s to customers. It’s the damn government that’s trying to ruin all of motorsports and modifying of your own car in the name of “climate change”…..🙄 The RPM Act is what we’re trying to pass through legislation to keep the sport alive.
It's not the 18k. If he doesn't pay, the fines go up substantially. Also, if he pays the fine he's accepting guilt and won't ever be able to work on cars ever again. Nor run any sanctioning bodies, i.e. his PSCA races. It's all of it. His whole life could be over. And if they went after him, they can go after everyone that he loves. Educate yourself on the rpm act. Spread the word to your friends. Get involved. This is affecting everyone.
Why tf would any of yall thumbs up my comment?
If Mullet could get off of the line like Leroy does that think would be a BEAST of a unit!!
I don't think it can leave as hard because of the weight? If it had more weight in the rear I feel it would be able to leave harder. Imo it's lacking grip but isn't? So maybe travel or weight.
@@jessetate4641 this car had left really hard already. it needs kevin.
@@jessetate4641: the bed of Mullet has tracks so various tanks of stuff can be shifted to the back. We don't know whether that's been done.

That’s the power jump Cleetus is talking about.

I’m thinking they did this already on the run that was down 3 cylinders because it definitely left harder that run.

Jackstand needs a sundial to time his runs.

When your body is calibrated to the .05 of a second accuracy.
Give the Blazer to George. He loves that thing.
I agree with this, George is such a great personality on both this channel and Jeremy’s. I think the blazer has some potential to be bad ass, although in a 90s baby so that may be why.
That thing was made for George. That is definitely something George would build. Probably wouldn't be a stock truck motor though
New car with TONS of sensors sending data to the Holley to react to. Will take time and development to get it sorted out. You, your team, and friends are suited to figure it out for sure!
The butt dyno was really dialled in, on point every time. Great work! I am stoked to follow this journey!
All the ups and downs are extremely interesting to watch as a bystander although I get how frustrating it can be! Hell yea brother! 💪🏻

Did Kevin get the dump valve hooked up?
Need to leave with some more RPM, get engine speed up so the turbos will get happy sooner.
That was my first though when they couldn’t get it to spool. It should be ready to use
It's the low stall. Rides it really hard with the longer gears before it builds rpm and boost. That's why There's a 2 stage power issue IMO
I would go back to the original shorter gears with the overdrive, that was consistent as hell
That's why they're having a hard time getting into power sooner. It's riding the stall so much longer with the longer gears. I think a higher stall would fix everything.

I can just imagine how nuts Kevin is going not being able to be there!
Twenty years ago I took my bone-stock '94 Cutlass Supreme to that strip in Pueblo for a run-what-you-brung event. Its best of three runs was a 16.2, which wasn't bad for a family car of that era. It was geared so tall that it was still in second when I crossed the line. I got slaughtered by a couple of Camaros, but I toasted a riced Toyota Paseo. Can't imagine what it would be like to run in the sevens.
Poor dude is probably dreaming about getting that Elco down that track. When something bothers you to that point you'll never get it out of your head. Lets go Cleet.
