- In this video, Darren Langley, General Manager at Rocket Pool, explains Ethereum staking and liquid staking in under 6 minutes. He discusses the competitive landscape between Rocket Pool, Lido, and Coinbase, and the upcoming Ethereum Shanghai upgrade that will allow potentially unstaking $33.8 billion worth of ETH. After the upgrade, it is expected that Ethereum's staking ratio will increase to around 40%, which could benefit liquid staking providers like Rocket Pool. Darren also talks about the role and functions of the Rocket Pool Token (RPL) as a backstop collateral and incentivization mechanism for staking. With the release of Atlas, the barrier of entry for staking has been lowered from 16 ETH to 8 ETH for node operators.

Asymmetry Finance is also worthy of a mention. Asymmetry’s safETH is an index-style of multiple LSTs including Lido and Rocketpool. It’s more diversified and diffusing the risk of liquid staking.”
