I feed the squirrels raw almonds almost daily! And 2 did break into my house...chewed the screen on the window! Took me 10 minutes from a dead sleep to escort them out! I'm not sure I would want that same situation with a moma bear!😲🤣

Mom Simone was healthy enough to have 4 cubs which is amazing. She comes to you for the birdseed to keep her healthy enough to nurse. You are blessed. Her environment is so small and is over run with pesticides. Please just give her the birdseed. If she could find it elsewhere she would. Be kind.
I see that the dog alarms are proliferating in the neighborhood. It's like Ring cameras: one neighbor gets one and then everyone has them. Simone thinks she can open the front door the way she does the car doors. Might be time to set up a second latch/lock for it just in case she decides to visit at night while you guys are sleeping. I'd like to think I'd be as calm as you are when Simone comes up so close, but I don't think I could.
Simone looked a little frustrated today but still handled her disappointment gracefully. Maybe tomorrow she can have a "Mother's Day" treat. As always, thank you for sharing.
One cub was suckling but she cut it off short. She's not on the mood for feeding them milk just yet but it surely looks like they want some milk. The brown cub 🧸always tried to get a cool 🆒 swim in the water bowl and he's not shy about doing it. He knows it's so warm Outside. ❤❤❤❤❤
Aha! Simone stashed the kids in the woods and had planned to go into Uncle Patrick's house to take a snooze/relax. He rightly put a stop to that idea. As much as I wanted to see Simone nursing her cubs, it is good she refused. It is so much better to feed them away from humans and in quieter surroundings(no barking dogs nearby). Momma is hungry. She smells you dinner/lunch. Won’t be long before she does not listen and just goes in the house. Might want to switch back to the bird seed being available. She has gotten use to that so at least that would pacify her for now. A hungry nursing momma could get ugly. Just a thought having lived for 8 years on top of a mountain completely surrounded by National Forest and bears in our yard/orchard on the regular.

I agree. Her behavior is escalating and becoming more aggressive. In the last couple of videos she comes directly to Patrick Today she tried to get in the house. I don't think she has enough food to eat hence her persistence in trying to get birdfeed. Hope I'm wrong but also hope Patrick has a plan B
Having 4 cubs will be placing a high demand on her body. Hopefully she is able to forage enough stuff. She would like a bear supermarket or check your supplies though ❤

Has Simone ever acted like this before? I don’t recall her ever trying to open your front door. She seems a bit different this season. Pushing boundaries a bit more. Or have I just missed things from past videos? If she is, could it be she’s more hungry and looking for food more aggressively because of the Cubs?
Well she isn't aggressive but she clearly understood the word no. An aggressive bear would have busted in ignoring no.
She does seem like she is testing boundaries more. Time to be very firm ...
I agree. Her behavior is escalating and becoming more aggressive. In the last couple of videos she comes directly to Patrick
Today she tried to get in the house. I don't think she has enough food to eat hence her persistence in trying to get birdfeed. Hope I'm wrong but also hope Patrick has a plan B
Having 4 cubs will be placing a high demand on her body. Hopefully she is able to forage enough stuff. She would like a bear supermarket or check your supplies though ❤
