It seems Rick is one of those guys where you know he likes you if he’s razzing you. Which I appreciate because I have a similar sense of humor. And Ryan is a great sport about it and isn’t afraid to dig back a little. It’s an entertaining duo.
He was being way overrated. There were people during the season mocking him in the top 10 routinely and he’s not that. I questioned the long speed. He ran a 4.48 at his pro day. The standard deduction from a pro day 40 is 0.05, which equates to 4.53. Yeah, I get that it was with a Jones fracture so maybe it’s slightly better with a completely healthy foot but the fact that he was willing to run on that suggests to me that he’s probably a 4.5 guy regardless. Smart player, pretty good size. I don’t think he tackles all that well and although he gets praised for his instincts I saw some stuff in the 2023 Texas game that was less than inspiring in terms of instincts going up against Adonai Mitchell and JT Sanders. And then he also does have to have surgery on the Jones fracture, which would make me a nervous taking a guy in the first when you don’t know the results of said surgery because it hasn’t happened yet. I know the prognosis is generally good on that but those things don’t always go as planned either. Sometimes there’s setbacks. And there was also some chatter coming out of the combine saying well maybe he needs a really good structure around him to get the most out of him, which is a concern for me and the kind of players that I look for because I like players that are extremely self-motivated. I wouldn’t touch him in the first but I can understand it I guess if someone wants to go there in the late 1st. But the top 10 stuff that we were hearing? He was never that kind of player in my eyes. He’s a real media darling. How could you not be with a name like that? But there’s a lot of guys better than him in this draft that don’t have names that are nearly as “kool”.
@@joeynickles7962it’s really simple man. If Aiyuk was that good he would get those targets. He’s just not that level of player. Really good player but not a game changer like CeeDee
@@smith22vikes90 it’s not even close to that simple in that offense. We have DUDES everywhere. Deebo, Kittle and CMC need to eat too. That’s why the team is so dangerous and why the 49ers routinely wipe the floor with pretenders like the Cowboys.
@@joeynickles7962 If CeeDee Lamb was in that offense they would make sure that they are feeding him way more than Kittle and Deebo in the passing game. You think that just because the Vikings have Addison and Hockenson that they aren’t going to make sure JJ gets his 1600+ yards? There are certain players you build your offense around because they are worth that production and they will get open. CeeDee and JJ are the type of guys the defense wants to make sure they’re double teaming. Aiyuk is not quite that.
@@smith22vikes90 you don’t understand the 49ers offense and the way Kyle Shanahan calls plays. We deliberately spread the ball around and if Ceedee were on the team it would be identical in terms of ops. Glazing on Ceedee based on your fantasy football impressions does not change that. Kittle is one of the two best tight ends in the league. Deebo is one of the most unique, game breaking weapons in football. CMC is easily the best back in the game and it’s not even remotely close, and he’s also one of the best route runners in football not just among running backs but period. So yeah, I’m damn sure Ceedee wouldn’t be getting the kind of targets he does in Dallas and it’s really not even up for debate when you understand this offense and the way Shanahan likes to attack. I’ll agree that Aiyuk isn’t quite JJ but he’s absolutely on the level of your fantasy football hero Ceedee who Dak spams with 20 targets a game lol.
Rick and his love affair with Drake Maye. No wonder he picked so many busts at QB. He falls in love with the wrong things. It’s no way he thinks Maye is complete when he said himself his footwork needs time to develop that is not a complete player especially at QB. Glad he’s not in the draft room for the Commanders. He’d get everybody fired tryna get Maye.
If he loved him that much, why doesn't he have him at #1? He's over 3" taller than Caleb, doesn't fumble like him, and does a better job of avoiding the rush.
@@HTTR.Redskins same type of love affair he just loves one more than the other and doesn’t wanna seem stupid being the only one with Maye close to Williams.
Rick ALWAYS roasting Ryan about his picks and Ryan just brushes it off I love it. Rick is the disappointed dad who thinks “you need to be better son”.
😂😂😂 Ryan has a sense of humor but he knows. He sucks at drafting 😊

Rick and Ryan have a great dynamic...loving the draft content fellas
This is awesome content, Rick’s insults are a bonus 😂
Great job men! Thanks for taking us behind the curtain Rick. IMO the best show you’ve done to date.
Do you plan to have a live show during the draft?
This is an entertaining show keep it up
The33rdTeam has a draft board that lines up with Rick's Big Board design recommendations. CB over RT in the draft.
It's a good first round list. Solid tiers.
On Mckistry I am definitely with Rick!

I'd love to hear which players he has "pro bowl" written next to their name.
CeeDee was WR 3 in the 2020 draft... Jeudy went before him as well.
I’m asking KOC this Thursday at a church in Plymouth bro
There's a lot of people commenting on the NFL that I cannot watch. I can listen to Rick Spielman.
T'Vondre Swift is missing but I'll assume 2/3 round
The grand picture for Jayden Daniels is average. There are quite a few QBs ahead of him.
I can’t believe someone that does this for a living is unironically discussing Aiyuk > CeeDee… what?! How are you real man
You’d be singing a different tune if the 49ers spammed the ball to Aiyuk the way the Cowboys do to their only legitimate threat, Ceedee.

Drake Maye, not going to be a starter his first year.
i get building report but this grumpy old men schtick is getting old and takes way to long to get to the actual information.
Jordan Morgan is a legit first round grade. Chiefs will take him

Anybody else tired of watching Ryan Wilson learn on the job?
What you talking about
It's great, we get to learn the difference between how the media does it and how the organization do it.
