I was at the Rock the Bells concert in Miami in 2008. Pharcyde came on and I completely lost it. Every song they performed I knew every word and never recovered. I miss these guys...
Fat lip is such a humble and nice dude. I met him once after a show, he invited me to hang out with them but i had to pass it up. But i had an another opportunity to meet him at a private party years later. He talked to everyone and was so supportive of everyone that performed. Twice Tre picked me up on stage during their performance, making me feel super special. The best hipbhop concert ever.
FatLip was always the star and the most talented one of the group. Once they kicked him out the group they were done. He has a lot a charisma and a unique flow that made the group dope. Passing Me By he had the best and most memorable verse and he was the main chorus....on Running he set off the song. It's a shame when egos take over the good of the group.
@Jay Yoyo I can agree with you about Jay Swift. I think drugs got him. However Dilla did give them a different dimension as far a sonically. Tre..was dope but I still think fat lip makes the group pop. Just my opinion 🤷
Dude kept me going when I was in my addiction heavy. His solo work really spoke to my soul on where I was at, and the vibes helped me take it all in while still bobbiny head to the rythm. Seriously, he gave us his soul in the form of a CD.
If I was a millionaire I would offer a million dollars for a Pharcyde reunion I love them so much. Loneliest Punk record is great too - depressing as heck- but awesome nonetheless. Hope Fatlip puts down the booze and makes another great record because he is a soulful unique artist. And yes it takes four members to make the Pharcyde - Imani and Bootie Brown touring as the Pharcyde is like Ringo and Harrison touring as the Beatles.
Just listened to his last CD and I really wish they'd work out there differences and heal their group and come back as a whole group. They are West Coast Hip-Hop Legend's.
LAGrim Sleeper idk that new-ish tribe album was good. And there a few others that put out good stuff pretty consistently from back when pharcyde was around. Alot of members of wutang still make stuff. Yeah he's been off the scene for a while most likely, but I doubt he would disappoint. Hell, I'd just he happy with him doing his old stuff, if he rather not bother writing new material.
Yo Quad Demons...Speak for yourself. Just understand that you don’t dictate anyone else’s perceptions or experiences. The OP’s comment was a simple and positive statement formed from opinion. You really gotta be that cat that walks by and blasts a fart in the Garden of Eden?

The Pharcyde puts me in mind of a West Coast A Tribe Called Quest. They both groups. Had like a jazzy neo soul hip hop type of vibe. They both worked with J Dilla on production and every concert big in record numbers. " Passing Me By " , " Drop" "Return Of The B Boy" are timeless classics you can play at your block party or out in the park barbecues and still make an impact. Unfortunately Fat Lip solo success flopped compare when he was with the Pharcyde. He should of reached out to the Litwid Crew, The Hieroglyphics, & The Beat Junkies.
I went to Rock the Bells in San Bernardino, when Fatlip came out the crowd went crazy. they knew every song word for word. One of best experiences ever.
I remember when my friend Andy Proctor showed me Bizarre Ride back in 94 (I was a little late finding out) along with The Goats "No Goats No Glory" and G Love and Special Sauce's first record. One of the best years of my life.
Bro honestly, if you really consider the ground that pharcyde broke and the ways they paved for other artists, it’s wild to think that a million dollars between the whole group was the most they ever got offered for any deal. Bet if you asked ANY platinum hip hop artist who is over 30 or 35 years old, right now, they would most definitely say they were influenced by Pharcyde.
I hate it when an interviewer is trying so hard to get them to say something scandalous. dude keeps ramblin' with the question while Fat is tryin' to answer it
That's not a lot of money for a tour for a group.... I could see if it was for 1 show for a group. 1 mill between 3 people is $333,000 each person.... 4 people it's $250,000 each person. Now for 15 shows you have to divide that each show and you get to how much it was each show...not very good
Passing up a million dollars was a big mistake, you had choice, a million dollars or fight, you chose to fight, it's so silly, life is hard, be a man and squash the animosity, do your business and get that paper, f*ck the past, is this going to be your legacy, people talking about the tour, the rap group that never was, you could have had it all but you chose to piss it all away on some beef, your no Dave Chappelle to be passing up that kind of opportunity, but f*ck it, I'm just a fan, a random dude typing words that you'll never get to read.

Spartan Savage I really wish they would really get back together and create another album. I miss the Pharcyde.
HELL YEAH!!! VERY UNDERRATED CREW
I'd have an out of body experience. I wish I could get a million to get the to play, bet they'd do it for a single show haha
Dam I got there late wen mos def wuz performing dam I missed dat

It actually was mutual agreement, from the interviews that came out.

Which verse was his?
@@rainbowslushy223 He had the last verse on "Passing Me By"
Definitely the most talented, but most likely the most irresponsible. People can only put up with that shit for so long. Lol
Pharcyde was the tribe called quest of the west coast.

Why Gerald Davis? It's 2018. What can the Pharcyde do for Us today that they didn't already do? Old rappers only disappoint (at this point)

They weren't really prolific were they. It was two albums and done.

Actually random crazy stuff happens to me like that sometimes! Peace!
that shade at the end when he said only a weed dealer would manage Imani and Brown....that's messed up lol

Lol! Personally, I don't believe Brown and Imani are good rappers, but I do believe Brown is the most responsible and business oriented member.
