HTML-код
- Опубликовано: 15 сен 2024
- In this episode of The Debrief, former 22 SAS Trooper Big Phil Campion interviews Davey Robb, the youngest Royal Marine in the Falklands War and a former Commonwealth Games boxer. At just 16, Davey joined the Royal Marines, quickly rising as the fittest recruit. He played a key role in the Falklands, manning a General Purpose Machine Gun during intense battles and enduring the gruelling march to Port Stanley. Post-war, Davey pursued a successful boxing career and later served 26 years in the Fire Service. Now retired, he shares insights on resilience, the warrior mindset, and his Royal Marines legacy.

This is the sort of stuff that should be shown and taught about in schools, colleges and universities. Britain is the country it is because young men have had to do some extremely dangerous things. It should never be allowed to be air brushed out of our history 🇬🇧 🇬🇧 🇬🇧 🇬🇧 🇬🇧
It’s so wrong but it’s not going to happen, unfortunately 😭.
Thank you for your support
Sometimes in life you can’t have anything but admiration for someone. This is one of those times. Well done Royal.
Wow, Thank you for watching!
Campion Great Interview (as usual) but a special guest!@@ForceRadioHQ

@ForceRadioHQ thanks phil I baught my force radio hoody it fits like a dream lovely bit off kit 😎🤜🤛
Until you have been to Falkland Islands you just cant understand and appreciate how harsh the environment is and how humbling it is to think back at what the Marines and Paras, Gurkas and everyone else who fought in the Falklands war endured in the yomps and marches over the terrain there. Even travelling in a 4 x 4 is hard down there. Total respect to all those who served in Falklands.
Thanks for your support!
Been and yes absolutely horrendous
Deffo is tough terrain, wonder if onion range is still there? Remember sleeping in shipping containers waking up dripping wet with the condensation lol
How on earth did he carry that weight, at that age, over that terrain? Remarkable. Can't wait for more.
Thank you for watching!
Hoofin dit Royal....ive come to realise that Its crazy how the majority of us have came from very similar childhood/family backgrounds and it leads us to share very similar paths through army and civvy life

Respect to all of the military, especially those that have toe's the line for our safety. My cousin Guardsman Michael Marks, Welsh Guards was one of those killed on Sir Galahad, only 17 years old.
So sorry for your loss,
Epic podcast! Was Davey 'Jakes' old man? Great storie Royal
Love the Falklands content.
Any chance of an interview with Nigel "Spud" Ely (2 Para and SAS), or Mick Southall (3 Para).
Keep up the good work.
Thanks.
Great suggestion!
Wow Respect Sir ,well done on the MG work and all the graft . carting that fkng weight about on that hellish ground as a 17 year old . fucking hell !!!!
I agree done a battle field tour whilst there in 2005 while on a rapier squadron out there ground is herendous, then gpmg gunner in Iraq 2007 humping that gun on foot patrol with 600 rds on your back with osprey on in 40 degree heat was soul desroying
@@Toptrump83 You made it out the other end though, bad ass machine Good job !!!. respect sir
Lol sure did ,don't.know how looking back alot fitter back then.

Well done to the forces that did the Falklands let’s hope PC lets the subject tell his story; know what I mean?
Thanks for watching
Cap badge rivalry aside it is a fact the para’s were in Stanley first and no I am not an ex para. Just I had to research the falklands war for history at university

Only 17, so young 😮

Never forget two 17year old members of the Parachute Regt were killed on Mt Longdon, plus another who was 18 the day before the battle!
How many under aged lads went to WW1 & WW2 ?
Pvt Jim Martin at 14 year 9 months fought and died at Gallipoli. And there around 20 known underaged soldiers during WW1.
Lest We Forget.
BZ Royal great Ditts 👍⚓️
Thanks for your support!
Well worth looking up Terry Marsh. A chequered history would be about right.
Thanks for the suggestion
How a bloke.could bash his wife and then eat the food she prepares ,is that the act of a rational person??
Absolutley shocking...
G squadron SAS - guards
6 platoon 3 para - guards
I think your find the guards are some pretty fit well trained soldiers that have served in every major conflict, it’s not all about “I got a medal for this a medal for that” and to be fair mate no one respects headquarter company 🤷🏻♂️
Thanks for watching
ALL THE BEST DAVEY Terry Moogan HERE IN CALIFORNIA< YOU BECAME A BETTER MAN IN THE MARINES< SCOUSE RONNIE ROTHERAM DIED IN THE FALKLANDS SECIAL FORCES ALSO A MARINE> I WISH YOU ALL THE BEST DAVEY> I HAD SOME BAD TIMES HAS A KID IN LIVERPOOL< READ MY BOOK LIVERPOOL BANK ROBBER TO Hollywood Butler< THANKS>
Thank you for watching!
Never heard of RM doing milling, so I looked it up; they don’t. There’s boxing, which ain’t milling 🤷♂️.
@jonnunn: where did you read that? Wiki? Not everything is done to script. Drying room, milling, straighteners it's all the same.
@@EddieRiff no, those are not the same, not at all.
Another pawn in the rich man’s game.
War ? 😂
So how come I spoke to a marine in ‘93 who was seventeen and a half when the falklands war happened but couldn’t deploy because he wasn’t 18.
So I call bullshit
Don’t matter, if you ain’t 18, you ain’t going to war
Show us your campaign medal and I’d believe you.
Plus, all these people could spout any old shite and some lap it up
I know people including sf that did sneaky stuff. They don’t need to tell the world. They know what they did.
Also, people are so quick to believe what these ex soldiers say.
Maybe they are genuinely telling the truth, but, if you’ve done all these great things I know you shouldn’t be shouting about it. True heroes keep quiet and stay in the shadows
Who the f$%k are you to question him.
@@johndowd5792someone better than you
I had a lad in my platoon C COY 3RRF in gulf war 91 who was 17 and was killed in the friendly fire incident Conrad Cole RIP
