- That's right! Dr Colossus is a Springfieldian Doom Rock/Metal band from Australia. The band's music is themed around The Simpsons with references at every corner. Dr Colossus released their new album last month and we were impressed to say the least. Please go check out Dr Colossus' music for yourself and let us know what you think! I love finding bands that have songs referencing other interests.
When I found To tame a land by Iron maiden was about Dune which I was reading at the time, my mind was blown.
Wow I didn't read the title fully and was expecting this to be about Okilly Dokilly, Ned Flanders Metal band...
Not just ONE Simpsons themed band but TWO?? What a world we live in.
Sadly okilly dokilly is really bad

Hammerfall have a lot Game of Thrones references and Blind Guardian have a lot Lord of the ring based stuff ;3

@@MetalMass Sure! HammerFalls' whole "Chapter V: Unbent, Unbowed, Unbroken" Album is GoT themed. Blind Guardian *literally* have a song called The Lord of the Rings, I am sure it's referenced 100 times more, but I'm not big on LOTR so it probably escaped me ^^'

Ya gotta check out Hevisaurus. It's a Finnish heavy metal band aimed at kids. Weirdest but one of the most epic bands I've come across.
Moottörn Jyrinä also, but more Maiden/Priest and no costumes
Weirdest Band I've heard of are Impaled Northern Moonforest (accoustic black metal). xD
