You guys never cease to amaze me with your clever and smart solves. Reinforcement that you don’t need a lot to “overland” 😊
Keep up the good work 👍

Looking good! You're on the right track and I like the design of the roof rack. I'm in my 70's and remember the good day's with Dick Cepek, Mickey Thompson, Phil Reusche and Ivan "Ironman" Stewart. Those were the day's when we ran what we had and what we could create in our garages. On more than one occasion I had a pulled engine laying on my chest while i wiggled out from under the car.....lol

Back in a day, the day, whatever; my friend had one of these old bugs his dad passed down. I wasn't with them, but the story goes he and a bunch of highschool friends would go to lunch, with more people than seat belts. Smoke started to fill the cabin and they all bailed out. It was the badly worn seat springs making contact with the battery terminals that almost started a fire, or did can't remember. Lol. But, the car was retired for another old beater shortly after. Love the build!

I stopped using friction straps. I've found out they are not reliable and replaced them with ratchet straps.
