If you actually look into his website, ashram, teachings, you may find that his teachings are deliberately kept very 'worldly', for the average person like yourself TzuSun, and his Yoga Nidra techniques, are for average people to use, SPECIFICALLY TO DEAL WITH REALITY, but there is also the option for the more advanced seeking enlightenment, to experience a more mystical aspect, like prana awakening for example. He is an excellent teacher, for ALL levels of spiritual development, I assure you.
Amrit Desai teaches both. Really, I have nothing to gain by complimenting him, I HIGHLY RECOMMEND his teachings, I personally feel very blessed to be his student. I hope you are able to find 'the one' for you, also, it's hard to go on just video and website alone. I was fortunate enough that I 'found' my teacher without looking for him, and got to meet him face to face. Therefore, I was able to clearly f FEEL his enlightened energy. Okay, no offense taken at all, I did think you were speaking of him in particular though.I understand, many people are using terms like 'awakened,enlightenment", and I agree are often used loosely. I can tell you, that this man Amrit, is very much enlightened. He teaches meditation, and a very ancient breathing technique which when used while meditating, can instantly and quickly take a person to very high states of consciousness. Yoga Nidra is deeper technique, to be used along w meditation
This man in particular, Amrit Desai, has much more than simply a cool story, and does not consider himself awakened simply because he does have a lifetime (since he was 16 yrs old) of stories and experiences. This is an introductory, and very brief introduction, and one should not judge based on this, or any 1 interview. I have been studying with Amrit for about 6 years, and his teachings have EVERY basis for dealing with reality! The interview is not the path, your judgement is premature!!
