This week, we’re diving into the new and improved package sequence in xLights! 🌟 If you’ve upgraded to version 2024.13, you’ll notice the traditional “zip” file has been replaced with the new “xsqz” format. 📦✨ This fresh file type offers an enhanced preview option for previewing the file in xLights easily, but it’s not compatible with older xLights versions. 😲 Join us as we review how you can prepare this file and use it over the coming months as all new sequences eventually will arrive in this format. Just go into Windows File Manager under "..."/Options/View and uncheck "Hide extensions for known file types"

This is why I always recommend turning off the setting that hides file extensions.
Yep, I was having issues and didn't realize that's what I needed to do. Learned something new and glad to share it.
Be interesting to know why the Devs went down the path of associating both file types to open this way considering its a trivial task to not associate the zipped file in this matter....
I'm sure it was to make it easier for new folks coming into the hobby. This week's release has updated the icon for the zipfile so it won't look like the xLights sequence file.
