It already looks amazing and it looks like there's a lot more amazing stuff to come!
My friend you should really set up a competition tank for the Amano event. I think you would really do well. God bless!
Your channel and Tanner Serpa's were the first to introduce me to aquariums, and now, I wouldn't think to do it any other way than you do (low maintenance). The red betta tank was my absolute favorite when you released it, I thought it was so jaw-dropping seeing all the red plants. I want to challenge you to use only the red, brownish red, and greenish red, for the rescape! No green carpet! The vibrancy of the red root floaters at the top it really stands out, which is always a must! Also, just curious if either Hellboy or the Titanium White Betta could be added to the 60 betta tank, or rather why that wouldn't be a good idea?
your right about the shrimps! they are all chunky females from what i can see! love the new room, big changes from the old shed days its been good watching you grow !
Hi mate where would you recommend getting a 5' rimless and braceless tank please?
Big shout out to Kate! 3 kids, in school or not, is more than a full-time job. I know she hates the camera and we probably won't see her too much but her talents and support is already evident. Please let her know I appreciate all the hard work she is doing so the videos keep coming :-)
Same most definitely
Yes! Without her support who knows if he would be able to do all this. We can’t forget to give honorable mentions to the support systems! ❤
Yes, it took a while to convince her that youtube was a legit thing but once she was on board, she's been fully supportive since.
sorry to be a problem voice, but as the subject of Kate has come up, i must admit i"m feeling a bit uncomfortable about the way you talk about her helping you, but then "bailing." you seem like such a nice man; hopefully you are being fair about the division of labor you and Kate share as a couple. chalk my concerns up to having had more than 75 years experience--not all good-- as a human female
@@judithchiasson8554 The "bailing" jest is VERY clearly just that...a jest. Their "division of labor" is really nobody's business but theirs, and definitely not something that needed to be addressed here.
This is like a planted tank paradise. You could charge admission. I’d pay.
Thank you. Maybe one day
I second this
Hear hear!
Same
Definitely
As a long-time viewer -- from your shed days! -- the first thing that came to mind as I watched this video is how well organized your new studio is !!! I'm sure Kate has something to do with this, so a big shout out to Kate! Well done. Keep up the great work!
The dark leaf indoor potted plant u first showed is a rubber tree plant. Do a weekly check of them but only water them if soil is dry as u can over water them and kill them and cause roots to rot. U can do it!
I love how organised your new studio is! Well done to Kate!
I'm really proud and happy about our yes our new studio.. Great job in getting things done. The plants will thrive the light is spot on that was a rubber tree with the thick leaves just remember not to leave water in the bottom of your pots and don't over water all of them in soil need to dry out between watering .I have 189 plants and love them and fish tanks. Your doing awesome love everything.
Nice tour. I like how you are not just filling up the studio with tanks to fill space but are adding tanks as you come up with your ideas.
Seeing how far you've come from the first shed you started to the upgraded larger shed etc etc is unbelievable. You helped me through lockdown and taught me so much about keeping planted tanks. Wishing you many more years of success
This is an aquarist's fantasy😍 Well done! If you ever do a meet & greet, I may have to fly out to the UK lol
Aghh MD , let me start off by saying that I've watched every video you've posted in the past year and a half but this is I reckon the second time I'm actually commenting on a vid . Firstly your videos are a source of relaxation for my mind and eyes whenever I'm a bit tensed and have my head aching cause of studies ( I'm a student by the way ) . Secondly , there's no other content creator that I know of that does the same ( period ) . Thirdly , the sheer amount of driftwood and hardscape you have on hand as stash for future builds equals out to the amount of hardscape 4 to 5 fish shops in and around my home does . Last but not least - keep pumping out videos as long as you can for I ( and we ) absolutely love it to the core and I too wish to have a smaller studio ( Kinda of the same size of one of the rooms of the previous two studious of yours that's now sat empty ) .
Cheers , looking forward to the upcoming builds in the new studio .
thank you very much. So glad you are enjoying it all :)
That’s cool and All but you have 132 comments on this channel 😬
@@Nelson91616 lol
The studio looks wonderful… kudos to you, MD 👌
I am so excited for the new scapes 😊😊😊
Shout out to camera shy Kate 😘😘😘
Man, we got the news that my mom is officially terminal today, and I just want to thank you for your videos. I have a lot of anxiety and stress in my life right now, and these videos always give me a safe space of peace where I can escape from my life for a moment. I wish every good fortune for you and the future of your channel.
So sorry you’re going through that ;(
That peace lily on the top shelf near the front of the studio might be happier a bit further away from the window. They love light, but too much direct sunlight burns the leaves 😊 also - loving this new place! I liked the old place but this one is just wow 😍
Thank you, Kate, for keeping the house plants alive🤣🌱😎. Just kidding MD🥰🇺🇸 Love the studio!❤
That middle table would be great as a scapers table - a place where you can model hardscape for tanks and glue etc... before you do the installation. Would be a cool video to see you play with different layouts without having to go in and out of the glass tank.
Can you do a video on how you layout where tanks are (structural considerations), the types of stands & racks you use, and general considerations for keeping that much heavy water in your space?
MD! Me and my wife have been loving your videos and have never owned shrimp before. 2 tanks and $500 later we are setting them up for a couple more weeks to hopefully get our shrimp! Great videos and thank you!
That neon and beta tank is absolutely stunning , I could watch it for hours and hours on end
Looks amazing MD. Love "The Shop"! Would be so so so convenient! When can I visit!? 😂
The postman came in and said that the other day 🤣
@MD Fish Tanks 😂😂 My Postman thinks I am Hobbit because I am always popping up from down in the basement! He has never once asked to see my fish dungeon..... lol. You have to do an open day sometime MD, it would be EPIC!!
I just want to say thanks for being a constant source of inspiration for aquascaping. Sometimes things go wrong and I think of giving up. But seeing the things you do with a bunch of rocks, wood, and plants makes me want to continue. You are a true artist and hope someday I get to your level
I love watching someone who loves what they do so much. My current apartment doesn't allow any pets in tanks or anything for some reason, but I'm about to move in to my first house and I'm hoping to build a nice planted tank. I've been watching you do it for so long that I just want one of my own now.
Exciting ! Good luck.
Thanks so much MD, for the studio update. Nice to see you've finally gotten completely moved in. A monumental task I'm sure! The new studio is shaping up so nicely! I agree, don't rush through the process. Take your time and enjoy every minute of it! Kate is doing a wonderful job of keeping you organized..hehehe. Good job Kate! Behind every great man, is an even greater woman! ;-) ;-)
Luck man, amazing space to carry out loads of tank set ups.
My late uncle George got me into fish keeping way back when I was a young lad.
Enjoy your sessions.
Hey MD! 7:45 is definitely a big female at the back and male at the front. Also a female on buce leaf at the top. I'm sure they are going to breed soon! Shrimp normally take a couple of months to settle in a new tank and start breeding.
I was looking for it.
I remember how excited you were moving into that first studio, it served you well.
Absolutely 💯 LOVE your beautiful wife! Kate has done a marvelous job organizing and decorating the studio, it looks amazing! Thank you for all your great videos, love the new studio and please give your dear Kate a raise!!! 😁
I love your space! Also, you have to think about education stuff in the studio. maybe for kids who want to see in person, or want to learn how to take care of tanks first. Maybe for adult, but your space just screaming "more peoples, more activities". And that huge table perfect for project to set up small tanks for kids(or adults).
Love your videos!
I think I started following you just after you moved out of the shed. Its been great to see how far you've come along and I've learned loads from you! appreciate it
Congrats on your complete studio! Love the sorority tank. Yes, my betta will eat the algae tab too. They have a neverending appetite. The rainbow tank is awesome. Thank you for sharing your progress with us.
I just broke down my first planted tank and re built it. I can see how it becomes addictive. I'm excited for the next builds!
congratulations for new studio set up. u and kate are very creative and organized for all this arrangements .its stunning
MD I watch all of your videos!!!! About to watch this one and I love them all!! I just want to say thank you for helping me when I was getting into this hobby and providing content that I can always learn from and enjoy!! Thank you MD!!!
Absolutely fabulous studio setup. The little glass bowls behind your desk would be a great spot for some succulents. Anyway stay safe and your water clean
I could probably spend hours looking at those tanks! I’m glad you’ve made it how you want it. People will always have their opinions though won’t they? 😂
The undercover star of the rainbow tank is that amazingly patterned big stone visible on the 'back' side. Congrats on the studio--really came together!
Absolutely stunning studio and it's only going to get better in time. Must be awsome waking up and knowing your going into your workplace and enjoy it. Keep up the awsome videos MD great job and thankyou for sharing your skills time and knowledge with us.
It's been great watching the growth of this channel from you home, shed, the two studios and now this!! Best of everything for you and your channel in 2023!
Curious question..
Does anyone else have as nice a setup/RUclips channel ?
Very much enjoy this channel, just wondering if there's any others.
This pretty much takes the cake from what I've seen. 👏👍👌
The frosting on the glass entrance was a real good choice, still all the light but no algae exlosion! 👌
You got a good wife who really support you. Congrats 🎉
Absolutely love your new studio super jealous your plants look fantastic for some added colour I would suggest that you get some Phalaenopsis orchids they love ambient light and are quite a stunning flower they can also be grown in water I think that was what Matt put in the slanted tank at the shop. Love your work keep the videos coming.
Platinum halfbeaks would look sweet in the red tank, theyre live bearers to and should breed well in your water. The fry are extra cute
The no filter aquariums are fantastic. I love it!
Beautiful setup. The only thing I didn’t see that is a must is a fire extinguisher.
I actually tried putting my long finned guppy dudes in with my betta. He's like 5% aggressive: flares, will give chase for 2 seconds, and then gives up. All bark, no bite. He was hella mad when I put them in but I watched for hours to make sure, and once he realized they wouldn't fight him, he accepted them. He's in a 29G tank and tons of green neons and other random misfits who didn't fold into the 55, but they all live together great. He's the boss, but he's not rude about it. :) The guppies learned quick to just not get in front of him and he's chill. Lots of plants, too. Definitely the temperament of the betta matters, but all but one of my males (out of dozens) was perfectly fine with any and all other fish except other bettas.
Congrats, MD, been with you since the tiny shed an around 30k subs. Much deserved, I believe.
So glad to see that you are moving on to great things. Stumbled upon your channel accidentally a year and a half ago and I have stayed after the first video I watched. You even inspired me to get my own tank and now I have 2 large tanks. A simply scaped 4x2ft for my 3 fancy goldfish and a 4x3ft planted tank for my community fish. I have 3 acaras, 2 plecos, 7 albino black widows, 4 opaline gouramis and 4 rosy barbs, 5 apple snails and some rabbit snails. It has brought me so much joy and I wouldn't have know this if it wasn't for you so thank you ❤️
I've enjoyed my tank for a year now and here's to many more x
Congratulations 👏 on the studio I look forward to your content every week maybe a live stream with you Matt ??? In the new studio any enjoy it you deserve the success
Congratulations to you, nice place. I bet your misses never expected fish would be a full time job for you!
"... AND THE LORDS OF THE UNDERWORLD!"
Loving the new studio, thanks for everything MD!
Brilliant! I envy your youthful energy. And space!
I'm really happy to have found you early in your RUclips foray, even more happy that I've never missed an episode of your journey. I am really excited to see what's to come. But let's be clear; while I truly enjoy each and every build, the real strength and appeal of your channel is you. Your good humor, numerous quirks, your love of plants, your feeling of responsibility toward your pets, your sadness at their loss, and most importantly, your incredible creativity. If I ever had any doubt about your authenticity, your friendship with Matt has put that to rest, you can't fake real friendship. Thank you for taking us along with you, your content is pure joy!
huh?
After what must have been a move that would have exhausted and maybe even burned out most people, you appear on screen full of energy and enthusiasm. Keep being you! and Thanks!
Man, I used to have two fish tanks from age 4 to 12, and watching your videos really makes me want to get one or two again. If I didn't have to move every couple years due to job requirements, I'd pull the trigger for sure.
Congrats man, really a bucket list to be able one day go to your studio and have one moment looking at all the scapes, damn its so beautiful
Could probably host a planted tank master class in this studio. Looking great 👍
Didn't envy you all that work moving, but definitely worth it!!
I have about 40 bettas living in a 150l tank i have bred and raised together, i just found out they love shrimp blue bombs, i put a pleco wafer in last week as i added two young super reds a week or so ago and the bettas scoffed them too so i tried them with the blue bombs today and they ate 5 of them quick smart, just incase you want to give them a bit variation, and also, your new gafs lookin pretty good 👌🏻
I found a baby red eared slider when I was 8 by the public pool when I was 8 and named him tom/tommy Bahama. Timmy and you have inspired me to get another one. It'll be a little while as I've just bought 26 emerald green corydora for a Breeding project
How far you've come from the shed in your backyard. What a ride. Congrats!
That was a lot of work to empty the two old studios. Congratulations on the New Studio, very nice space. Take care, be well
MD, Please make a detailed video on easy stem plants like Polysperma, Ludwigia, Rotala on handling, care, propagation, fast growth methods & everything about them with some samples.
Very clean, bright and organized, very nice.
It’s delightful MD, I’m so happy for you!
I’ve loved watching you evolve through all of your fish rooms. This one has to be the ultimate fish keepers dream room! Love love love it well done on your evolution and taking us on the journey x ❤️🇦🇺
Spectacular!!! Amazing to see this new 'finished' space! Congrats!
The studio looks amazing. You’ve done a fantastic job with your space. I use my “dirty” tank water to water my house plants and they love it. Seen it as a tip years ago and have used it ever since. Never had a problem and they’re always growing great. So you could try it with the studio plants for an extra boost and to save on water. 😊
I am so addicted to your channel. I often recommend you to others. Outstanding job! All the work you put in shows! Wish I could see this in person. Truly inspiring.
Looking like my dream room! Can't wait to follow your journey! Kate, you are amazing at keeping MD organised! Behind every successful man is a woman lol!
I love how you used your extra driftwood as decoration in the shelves above the tanks. It’s looking so amazing!
i think the refill for the colombo is just citrus acid and baking soda. you can buy that in bulk for just a couple of euros/pounds. if i ever go co2 i will probably try that route first. i like the idea to be able to refill it at home. Great new studio by the way.
when my betta was in a community tank he always ate algae wafers, he was a good fish!
Congrats man! New chapter for MD and I’m looking forward to seeing how you outgrow this studio 😅
The money shot video. Love it. I want thar piece of wood behind the Betta sorority so bad
the plant that you said wasn't doing to well is a Dragon Palm, I have one and looked it up. I doesn't like to be over-watered and would prefer a larger pot. I started using nutrient rich tank water and it looks unreal now. The place looks great, congratulations !!!
You should do a small saltwater tank sometime, even if you have to put a reminder under it to use saltwater when doing water changes.. and you don't need salt when just topping it up. I'd love to get a 30 gallon and make a little setup with some chromis and a small puffer that'll stay small and a little starfish and marine plants/macroalgae and some shrimp and maybe a little black & white clown fish.
LOVE the opening scene. Room looked fresh and dynamic while you were in there and now it looks like it's been abandoned for a bit. The florescent ceiling light shorting👌🏻👌🏻👌🏻 excited for the rest of the vid
A lot of my fish (mainly German blue rams and gouramis) go for the algae wafers all the time they steal away from the Otos. They love them so much
That akadama caridina tank with crystal red look so much like mine love it
The tree with the big rubbery leaves is called a rubber tree. Also, fish poo is one of the best natural fertilizers ever.
I had an idea MD, do a comp with your English viewers to come in and scape a tank with you and Matt as a learning tool and you could do one every so often 😀
Watching the progress from the Shed, to your new Studio is very inspiring! Well deserved!
Awesome tour brother, thank you for taking us along with you on the journey. Very proud. Can't wait to see the new builds. God bless
I think that rainbow tank is one of the prettiest tanks you've made. I love it!
Should be so proud MD, it’s amazing 😍😍😍
I think if you put an 8-10ft tank in place of the massive desk it would create not only an amazing centre piece for your studio but a perfect way to breakup the studio from one end to the other!
Wow! Everything looks amazing and sparkling clean! Well done MD and a crew ( lovely wife 😊) 👏👏🥳
Beautiful everything looks great 👍👍
Starting bingeing your videos like crazy recently, but I'm so glad you're doing well enough to get a new studio!
You have come along way from when you started. It looks fantastic and by the way that plant is a rubber plant and they grow huge. Well done your studio looks great ❤
Hey MD, I love the content and watch every single video no matter what. I love the freshwater because I have it myself but I really think a saltwater build would get a lot of attention. Your skill at scaping would be so interesting to witness when building a reef tank. You could even do a planted saltwater with seaweed and other non corals.
Everything looks great, well done mate.
What about moving desk and hardscape to the end and making an aquascape DO-JO area?
Hardscape along wall in corner, scape table in middle and desk along other wall.
Just an idea
Loving the new studio 🥰
I’m in Australia and everyone I talk to about aquascaping watches your channel. It’s great because we can talk about different tanks etc. 😁
Unfortunately I live in Tasmania and there are so many plants we can’t have along with being allowed snails or shrimp 😔
When will Kate get to do her own scape?! That would be awesome MD, from hardscape to fish selection. ALL her.
Hi MD! I love your videos, they are so beautiful and calming for me when I'm stressed out or having bad days. One day I strive to build my own naturalistic aquariums like yours! You are such an amazing person and inspire me to never give up on my dreams!
🔴A quick tip🔴 The 2 suffering plants need more sunlight, so move them next to the door, and they will be fine, as the rule say thin leave more light wider leave less light indoors plant hack. You're welcome🌹
Those colors of that co2 tank 👌🏻
Looks absolutely fantastic MD - a far cry from the shed in your back garden!!! Looking forward to lots more builds and interesting videos 🐟🐠
Sounds like a great time to start your reef!
I loved the tour, and I am looking forward to your future makes. Thanks for sharing………………..
