Holy shit, given the ten year gap between 4 and 5 i was NOT expecting six so soon, let alone TWO new games! This is wild, I wonder if this means they fixed the problems that meant 5 took so long.
Those 10 years were the result of many things going on behind the scenes: - The developing company, Neverland, went under: declaring bankrupcy in 2013, not long after the international release of RF4. - While Marvellous did eventually absorb most of (if not all) Neverland's former employees, it did so initially for the development of Lord of Magna: Maiden Heaven - They did state their intentions to keep the IP alive, but a project wouldn't start until 2018 when plans were set un motion for rf5 and rf4s - Whichever delays we may have had since 2020, of course, have the pandemic to blame So, it wasn't that the game was in development hell: It's company died, and it took time for its new home to take a risk with the series.
I have a lot of faith in the spin off and rune factory 6, I hope that in 6 they learn from their mistakes and improve the technical section, the graphics and the world that felt wide and empty, so far the rune factory with detailed logo as rune factory 4 was have a good run so it may be the best rune factory 3d. since it is a castle, it can be a flying castle or have a subterranean section.
Thank you for your hard work! Rune Factory is my absolute FAVORITE series (even more than Zelda or tales of) and I was obsessively checking for years for a 5 and now I get a 6 and a spinoff. I'm very happy! 4 is still by FAR my favorite. Genuinely hoping we get decent chunks of story post marriage so I have a reason to hang out with my kiddo! I'm hyped.

Frankly I wish they would return to the top-down camera style of game. RF 3 and 4 Special just really showed me how vastly superior those games flowed compared to their full 3D world attempts, from both a gameplay perspective (light bullet hell doesn't work well with over the shoulder camera) as well as an aesthetic one (pre-rendered/drawn backgrounds are a dying art, and charming af) Not saying we can't have both types of games, but when roughly 45% of the community prefers isometric its a bit foolish to completely discard it.
I hope that for Project Dragon and RF6 they allow us to customize the character. I know that it is not something typical of the series, but it is something that I would appreciate
And please let them have a feminine body type to choose from(even if its a set fem protag), not totally flat chested to be non-binary/gender neutral for everything. Why do NPCs get all the tiddies but us as protag be looking like a 10-year-old girl. 😂 And I don't mean like huge ones, just proportionate to body and not barely there. I don't mind the neutral options, they're cool for those who want it, but it's kinda sucky that they took away features just to be PC police. But I'm excited we get a new game to play anyways if they don't let us customize. (The female protag in the trailer atleast looks pretty good so far tho.)

True, I still have my PS3, but it's so hard to play (and lazy to take out) as I share TV with my family And you know, some family is just not supportive with people play "video games" even though they play those Zuma or candy crush, etc. :( It's easier to have it on portable console nowadays.
Project dragon looks absolutely great, the Japanese folklore aesthetic especially, i'm a sucker for that kinda stuff. Also riding dragons in the sky, let's fucking go, hopefully tthey'll port this one to pc unlike frontiers that got abandoned sadly.

Really hoping combat gets the attention it needs this time around. It's always been pretty rudimentary with the RF series, but it was more excusable with the top-down chibi aesthetic. Also really hope they stop dual-binding the dash/dodge. As to why on earth they'd bind dash and 'walk mode' to the same button is beyond me.
I started playing the Rune Factory series when I was in elementary. I’m so glad to be an adult now so I’ll have money to buy both games! 🙂 very excited.
I'm so looking forward to the game! I just really hope that the lovingly animated pictures of the characters stay with us. That's what I love most about the games. It's such a shame that Harvest Moon and Story of Seasons stopped doing that and you only see the character in the conversations and the beautiful pictures are left out 😔
I hope that in the new rune factory we can marry the protagonist of the other gender, like Less marrying Frey or Ares marrying Alice or having the option of using both characters at the same time.

true man, what make rune factory special is because the memorable opening ost that will make you nostalgic when revisit it after years (RF 1 2 and 3 is my fav) and RF so unique than other since it all rounded game that focused on dating, aside from combat, farm, and collectible and upgradeble tool. the story is best and making to like a genshin impact that only focusing on combat really make me disappoint, back then i play it for the characters encounters are delightful and charming. and that what make me keep coming for next series not because the combat mechanic or farming

Purely personal taste, I surely won't play Project Dragon as I never was a big fan of asian culture theme stuff. I might still give it a chance if I ever have the time when the game will release. For the actual RF6, I seriously hope it won't be the same disapoiting scam that was RF5 where they decided it was a good idea to have half a game content wise, removing important features (season farms), have a village made up of a dozen random props making it the emptiest village ever made in a RF game (even Oceans and Frontier had better villages and they were on Wii).

Well it’s a spin off, rf6 will probably look different. Also 5 looked bad due to the company basically coming out of bankruptcy by trying to switch over to another company the development of 5 also took place during Covid making things harder as well
