You're right. I went back and listened to what I sad in the video and I misspoke. I should have said +/- 10V from 5V. Thanks for pointing that out. Pinned.
the 2nd one I show is an original. I think it was like 3 times the price of the knockoff, which is really well built BTW. Yup, it's going to be a load. My biggest problem right now is doing a PCB layout for it. Giving me fits!
I have the original desoldering pump from Japanese (Engineer SS-02). I have bought 3 of the Chinese copies and none of them compared to the original Japanese one. They just seem to stick, hopefully yours is a bit better than the ones I've been getting off of AliExpress.
Tried it out yesterday to re-claim some components from a junked board. It was a bit underwhelming at first, then I dismantled it and lubricated it with some light silicone grease. Now it works as well as my Engineer SS-02.👍
Have the same solder sucker (original Engineer SS-02), find them too short, don't fit nice in the hand. Mine also clog very quick, must keep taking it apart and clean it. Maybe I must try some of these cheap ones.
The 2nd one I show, the one I got in 2012 is the genuine article. IIRC it cost upwards of $30 (CDN) back then. The cheapie Ijust got seems quite well built. All meatal and the same materials and design, but it was less that $7. TIme will tell. I have hu8ge hands but don't find them too small or difficult to use. May have something to do with my dirt bike riding?
@@uni-byte I'm interested in seeing what you do. I want to build one too. I've got a large heat sink out of an old receiver and a bunch of power resistors (the gold ones) along with alligator clips. Thinking that I can set up some sort of a binary configured load where I clip in the resistors I want.
Max680 specifically does +2V and -2V, where V can be from 3-6.

very nice. It feels so good to watch this unboxing of electronics parts from aliexpress!
More to come!
I appreciate the time you took to edit the videos and cutting out the boring bits. Too many RUclipsrs pad their videos. Thank you.
Thanks, I appreciate that!
I have the original SS-02 desoldering pump from Engineer Tools Japan. Didn't even know, knockoffs exist. My project guess would be a electronic load.

These IC's are also nice for isolated split supplies: A0503S-2W
Thanks for the information!

I do get them junk bits brought right to my door people buy stuff they do not know what to do with it.
Yeah, a lot of it is just to play around with.
😀
👍
Project for a electronic load I’m guessing
Good guess!! That's what it is.
Project: Electronic load.
Correct!

@@Taliesen. Stay tuned. I'm planning to do a video series on it.
project : something of a huge global warming potential 🤣
You guessed it! I'm a special agent for SPECTRE in charge of warming the globe!!!😈😈
You have to stop doing these videos! I'm on Aliexpress right now 😂😂
So am I! 🤣
